Hillary Clinton ‘loves' the idea of appointing Obama to Supreme Court
2016-06-30
[Wash Times] Democratic presidential front-runner Hillary Clinton said she "loves" the idea of appointing Barack Obama to the Supreme Court if she’s elected president.

At a campaign event in Iowa Tuesday, Mrs. Clinton told the crowd the next president may have to appoint up to three Supreme Court justices. When one attendee mentioned Mr. Obama as a contender, she seemed excited by the recommendation.

"Wow, what a great idea. No one has ever suggested that to me, I love that, wow," Mrs. Clinton said. "He may have a few other things to do, but I tell you, that’s a great idea.

"I mean, he’s brilliant, he can set forth an argument and he was a law professor," she added. "So he’s got all the credentials, but we would have to get a Democratic Senate to get him confirmed."

People magazine first reported the exchange.

#15  Problem is the senate would probably ratify his appointment - even with a republican majority.

Heck, they'd probably pass a bill requiring 3/4's vote to oppose the nomination just so they can claim they voted against it at election time. The've done it before.

#11  I'd enjoy him being grilled by Congress and unable to claim Executive Priveledge. He's turned what might have been a smooth ride through confirmation into a certainly painful grilling session by his own arrogance.

I'm Also sure he wouldn't appreciate having to treat the other justices as equals and the High Judge as a superior.

He would like that to be mentioned in the history books though. Only President to also be a Supreme Court Justice (and very likely the worst ever at both jobs).

#10  Pushshaw! Do you know how many rounds of golf he can buy with his 49% of Clinton Foundation revenues from the "speeches" he gives to the AG, FBI etc in between now and November.

#8  Can't see Obama wanting that. It means actual work and puts a real crimp on speaking/consulting/corporate board fees.

#7  But would Obama go for it, it is actual work after all?

#6  This would be appropriate payback for Obama's upcoming pardon of Hillary, just waiting in the wings for an opportune (or necessary) moment.
