20200803 12:40 Skidmark My housekeeper called.
She's working from home today.
She gave me a list of things to do.
20200803 10:29 Visitor I screwed up. It should be one eyed one armed flying purple papal leader
20200803 10:27 Deacon Blues A soldier in WWII lost his right eye in battle and decided to become a priest. He did and went to Africa, learned to fly and ministered to people all over. During one flight there was a storm and he crashed. He lost his left arm. While in the hospital he contracted a rare disease that turned his skin purple. Years later he became an Archbishop and was in line to become Pope. He wasn't elected. People weren't ready for a one eyed one armed purple papal leader.
20200731 18:45 Dave D. Deacon, you need more tequila.
20200731 11:14 Frank G *GROAN*
20200731 10:01 Deacon Blues I was at the snail races one time. The snails had letters painted on their shells. One snail, with an S, was leaving the others in it's dust. One of the spectators shouted, "WOW. Look at that S car go!".
20200730 16:57 Thing From Snowy Mountain I don't know if maybe it needs to be posted to page 3 or something here too.
20200730 16:56 Thing From Snowy Mountain TW: you might want to do the same as Cingold did, and look at your browser's print option and see if it has a "save to pdf" option.
20200729 11:31 trailing wife I saved the Gummibear link, Snowy Thing, with thanks.
20200729 02:48 Cingold Thanks, TFSM. It is horrifying that medicine is being politicized by Chinophile quislings and self-dealing charlatans.

I nabbed your gummibear link and PDF'd it. I've seen stuff disappear, too, like James M. Todaro, MD, and Gregory J. Rigano, Esq.'s "An Effective Treatment for Coronavirus (COVID-19)," which was hosted on Google Docs since March 13, 2020, but was recently removed by Google.

Not sure I buy all the postulates of Yoichi Shimatsu's "Wuhan nCoV Proves Useful For A Malthusian Cull Of Aging Societies - Part 6," Rense (2-12-2020), but -- given all that's going on -- it sure seems all too plausible.
20200728 22:10 Skidmark Good detail, TFSM.
20200728 20:08 Thing From Snowy Mountain That chart should be self explanatory. It shows the death rate from the disease in Switzerland with when-they-banned-HCQ and when-they-quit-the-ban marked. There's a lag between when the death rate goes up and back down afterwards in each case.
20200728 20:05 Thing From Snowy Mountain Test to see if this link works:

20200728 20:03 Thing From Snowy Mountain Cingold, I think the proof that the virus is engineered is the way the establishment has worked so hard to to politicize an actual helpful treatment we got for it.

Check this out:

While you can, because twitter is trying to scrub material from their network showing everyone what they've done.
20200728 19:48 trailing wife Poor old Joe has lost track of how many toes he is supposed to have. It wouldn’t be fair to ask him to explain the words that came out of his mouth, Jan.
20200728 17:22 Jan Seen on Twitter; Biden says he's running because he has 2 qualities that aren’t always relevant for President; 1) Foreign Policy and 2) bringing people together. Can someone in Media please go ask Biden when Foreign policy isn’t relevant?
20200727 23:11 trailing wife Spam here is not quite auto-cleaning, Cingold, so the moderators periodically do a cleaning run, like lotp used to in the old days. Fred runs Rantburg proper a bit differently, for some reason.
20200727 23:06 Cingold I see how the trolls are spamming. What a pain!
20200727 21:31 Cingold No worries, Frank G.

It was a bit outside of my usual ramblings, but (for the some 10-20% of the population that this thing is problematic for) the virus is devastating -- about half of those are going to die without an effective treatment, and almost the same number will be incapacitated for months. The other 80-90% of the population will think there's way too much alarm over this novel flu-like virus; always a great way to sow division. Since I'm a bit paranoid, I wonder if Unrestricted Warfare might be involved -- but I digress . . .

As long as the next pandemic (an October surprise?) is an enveloped virus, the same kind of treatment (e.g., Hesperidin, Bromhexine, Ivermectin) would be useful, but not if the new virus doesn't have the same kind of lipid membrane envelope. I guess it is a wait and see and react quickly scenario, and hopefully I'm just paranoid that something badder will happen this fall.
20200727 19:53 Frank G Sorry Cingold, I was deleting Spam and inadvertently caught yours:

Not meaning to get out of my lane (and knowing Trailing Wife is in much better stead in this arena — /hat tip/), but feel compelled to share that one response to COVID-19 is a low cost, very safe, widely available, solution:

Block host cell reception & strip off the virus’s protective coating (without cytotoxcity at even 10x regular dosing). See Oh, and I’d say it can’t hurt to wash it all down with some extra zinc with tonic water (with real quinine). BTW, high amounts of Hesperidin are in orange peels, but you’d have to be some place like NZ to get Bromhexine. Clinical trials on Ivermectin are coming out positive at even standard dosing.

Hope this helps somebody.
20200723 18:09 Alaska Paul I talked to Canadian Border Service officer at ALCAN customs office at Beaver Creek,Yukon on the phone. Canadian Border is closed to non essential travel. We were going to drive our truck down to NW Washington for wife’s work. She is eligible but not me.

So it goes. I can understand why Canadians are reluctant with the spikes in Covid from partygoers in US. And demonstrations/riots too. The Alcan highway is a great drive.
20200718 09:15 Deacon Blues I'm no governor but I was shutting down bars long before the Covid virus
20200717 21:04 trailing wife I look forward to it, my dear.
20200717 10:13 Whiskey Mike It was an "original post" in the sense that I had extracted a comment from an article not posted anywhere on RB, then wrote about the extract. I gave the original document credit, so no plagiarism. I saved the text, but have forgotten which computer it was saved on or where. Brain dead on my part. Let it die. I'll be more organized next time.
20200714 04:04 SCFI Thanks TW, I dunno why it wouldn't post, far as I can tell, it's SFW and nothing spammy about it.

20200713 18:25 Frank G that comment looked fine as-is...
20200713 18:06 trailing wife Seeking cure, your comment is now posted. On the first try, so I’m not sure what happened.

Whiskey :Mike, I see no article with your nym on it either in the Burg or in the hopper for tomorrow. What were you trying to post? Or was it an original opinion of your own? Either is fine, I’d just like to get this straightened out.
20200713 10:42 SCFI I typed the following in respond to another comment at

I tried several times but it would not take, so I'm posting it here (within the square brackets) in the hope one of the mods will post it for me.

[Re #4 "To lose a hull is total BS."

No it's possible for an otherwise intact hull to be a total loss. Keep in mind it's a warship and as such the hull has to use special grades of steel in order to withstand torpedos and missiles. A massive fire will weaken the steel to the point where (almost) a BB gun and shoot a pellet thru the hull, in which case, it's unsuitable to be a warship and thus be declared a total loss.

So not BS after all.]

20200713 09:39 Whiskey Mike Sorry mods. I submitted a brief article in Opinion and it vanished. I probably screwed it up. Hangs head.
20200712 20:48 Frank G good. got it
20200712 20:24 Deacon Blues Some of the black residents were watching. One lady and one gentleman told me they didn't understand why the protesters came to Rogersville and wanted them to leave. They made their position known to the protesters.
20200712 20:21 Deacon Blues The protesters were behaving themselves. Those neo-nazis were trying to start trouble. The citizens here in Rogersville won't put up with that. Antifa and neo-nazis are not welcome and will be confronted . So will the KKK.
20200712 19:29 Frank G So only Counter-Protesters were arrested?
20200712 18:29 Deacon Blues Here is a link to a local newspaper report of the protest yesterday.
20200712 17:43 trailing wife I’m an innocent bystander in all the under-the-hood technical stuff, Seeking cure. My only rôle is to forward information from observers to fixers, much as I do at home between the craftsmen and technicians who do/fix stuff and Mr. Wife in engineering mode. ;-)
20200712 12:02 SCFI (Throw stuffed frog at Deacon Blues) That was a bad pun DB...

I like the new color changes and see the comment box is fixed. It's a pleasure to read! Now what appears to be left is to fix the "new comment" preview windows as it's still "boxed".

Thanks TW and Fred (and Frank as well) for staying on top of this

20200712 09:38 Skidmark Thank you Fred.
20200712 09:15 Whiskey Mike I can see again!
20200712 08:47 Deacon Blues What do you call a group of chess players in a hotel lobby? Chess nuts boasting in an open foyer.
20200712 08:41 Deacon Blues There were 4 young men who dressed like ANTIFA and claimed to be. They started getting beligerant and were immediately arrested. That's about it.
20200711 22:33 Deacon Blues The overwhelming number of the protesters were college age white females. I will say the protesters were very respectful and did not use bad language. I did get to talk to one black man and told him most whites will not pay attention to BLM until the black community addresses the huge problem of black on black crime. I asked when the protests were going to start in relation to that 7 year old black girl getting murdered by those BLM people. He had no answer. All in all it was a peaceful but useless protest.
20200711 21:16 Thing From Snowy Mountain Glenmore, I'm sorry to hear about the loss of your friend.
20200711 19:57 Dave D. So it was a fizzle? That' a relief.

20200711 19:28 Deacon Blues Very small protest crowd. maybe 50
20200711 19:25 Deacon Blues I've seen only one "protester carrying a firearm. He is black.
20200711 19:19 Deacon Blues Jan, I'm here in Rogersville. A full 90% of the protesters are white. One sign reads End the War on People of Color. Another being held by an older white woman reads I Use my White Privilege to say Black Lives matter. Most are college kids. I will have to complement them for picking up their trash. Heavy police presence.
20200710 23:52 trailing wife Screenshots send to your email address TW.

Seen and responded, Seeking cure. Thank you.
20200710 19:54 Dave D. On my MacBook Air, the Burg looks normal under Google Chrome; Safari, however, is a mess of bright, ugly blue.
20200710 18:34 SCFI Screenshots send to your email address TW.

20200710 18:28 SCFI TW, I send them to Fred's email address as you suggested. I will send the screenshots to your email address.

20200710 18:24 Skidmark Everybody is talking about font size and color. I also get double-line boxed comments and every link has a underline. Lots of visual noise.
20200710 17:22 trailing wife Safari on my iPad, Seeking cure. Where did you send the screenshots? My email is jssawicki At Gmail.
20200710 16:35 Frank G Yes. Fred's looking into it.
20200710 16:12 SCFI TW, what browser are you using? If you install Firefox and open the Rant with it, I'm sure you;ll see the 'changes'.

Did you ever get the screen shots I sent?

20200710 14:19 Frank G TFSM - another Covid death, to be sure
20200710 14:19 Frank G I spoke too soon about Pale Moon - it's all blue fonts now too
20200710 14:03 Thing From Snowy Mountain One of the things that pisses me off about this is that a black friend and former co-worker was shot to death in the month before the current shitstorm entered its Black Lives Matter phase but since he wasn't (as far as anyone knows) shot by the police it doesn't matter to anyone.

20200710 12:18 Alaska Paul Better get your militia out there Deacon. An armed society is a polite society, ya know.
20200710 09:27 Dave D. "There will be a BLM "march" Saturday in my little town of Rogersville population about 4,000. They will be bused in from somewhere else. They are supposed to stay on the sidewalk and not block the street. We shall see."

Guard yer statues, Deacon!
20200709 16:15 Deacon Blues P.S. I plan on going and filming it.
20200709 16:14 Deacon Blues There will be a BLM "march" Saturday in my little town of Rogersville population about 4,000. They will be bused in from somewhere else. They are supposed to stay on the sidewalk and not block the street. We shall see.
20200709 14:05 Alaska Paul I can empathize with your loss, Glen. All my friends who I grew up with with the exception of one have all passed on. They were good people and made a difference in the world. Such is the world.
20200709 11:04 Deacon Blues Know how you feel Glen. It ain't easy
20200709 11:03 Deacon Blues That was a good one Frank. I laughed out loud.
20200709 09:10 Frank G Same here Glen
20200709 00:34 Skidmark Sorry for your loss, G.
20200708 21:25 Glenmore Lost a good friend this morning; one of the very few from my youthful times in the northeast to have retained his sense of (non-PC) humor and the courage to exhibit it. He will be missed.
20200708 21:07 Skidmark Pickup, mighta been a F150, backed into my gate turn-around last night @0230. Parked to watch the moonrise, 'I suppose'.

They got all excited when I hit them with the deer pig spotlight. Spent the morning raking gravel back into the ruts they left.
20200708 21:01 Skidmark Hmmm...maybe it's just lowering the gates.
20200708 21:00 Skidmark Ah'm gonna have to switch from Macallan. It's makin me hot and nasty.
20200708 18:18 Frank G your comments frequently do, Deacon :-)

Of course, sometimes TW wonders about me, legitimately
20200708 18:13 Deacon Blues When I made a comment it was really weird looking, too
20200708 18:01 Deacon Blues Steve S, he did.
20200708 18:00 Deacon Blues I was just browsing the 'Burg and everything suddenly turned blue. Rgight in the middle of reading.
20200708 17:43 SteveS In his Mount Rushmore speech, did President Trump really do a shoutout to the Ford F-150, or was it only a dream?
20200708 16:38 Frank G But on Pale Moon (another no-frills Mozilla-based browser) it looks fine. Weird
20200708 14:08 Whiskey Mike So, for me: Firefox Brave and Edge are all the same.
20200708 14:07 Whiskey Mike MS Edge as well.
20200708 14:06 Whiskey Mike All blue on Brave as well.
20200708 14:05 Whiskey Mike So it's a blue Wednesday for others as well. I'll check Brave.
20200708 12:41 Skidmark Same problem with TOR, Chrome, Brave, Firefox. Ah'm on unsupported Windows 7 Pro.
20200708 12:17 SCFI I'm on Firefox also. I notice this changes happened right after the latest update to Firefox so perhaps the problem is not with Rant, but with Firefox changing something.

20200708 07:19 Deacon Blues The 'burg is OK here
20200708 06:32 Frank G Weird on Firefox as well
20200708 00:44 Skidmark we should be seeing the same thing.

Yes, indeedy.
This means the browsers are interpreting different. Ah'm using BRAVE.
20200708 00:19 SCFI Done, screenshots send

20200707 21:16 49 Pan Someone from Indy sent me a beer kuzzy that says emotional support beer. Whoever sent it, thank you//
20200707 20:46 trailing wife I still don’t see anything wrong, which is definitely odd — we should be seeing the same thing.

Seeking cure, send your screenshots to Fred. In the yellow box in the right margin on Page 1 there is an Email Me link — clicking in that will pull up a blank email form addressed to him.
20200707 18:51 SCFI I would take screen shots to show how it looks now, but no clue where to send them.

20200707 18:25 SCFI Nope, still a mess. no change so far.

20200707 12:18 trailing wife Fell asleep before finishing my inspection earlier. Is it fixed now, gentlemen?
20200707 08:31 Skidmark Looks like a javascript style sheet update, gone awry.
20200707 08:18 Frank G O Club is same...
20200707 07:26 Skidmark Oclub is standard.
20200707 07:25 Skidmark Pretty colors though.
20200707 03:38 SCFI I checked again and even made some comments, someone is definitely messing around under the hood and left a lot of parts out.

20200707 03:21 SCFI TW, it's still blue, all the fonts are blue and the borders that normally box the posts are incomplete with missing lines here and there, mostly missing from the bottom and right side.

20200707 02:05 trailing wife Seeking cure, has the Burg returned to its normal colour, or do we need to check if Fred is playing under the hood again?

Frank, here is Instapundi’s take is even worse, half an hour later:

SO ON THE ONE HAND, YOU DON’T NEED TO BE HERE ON A STUDENT VISA IF YOU CAN ATTEND ONLINE FROM HOME: ICE Says Foreign Students Can’t Attend Online-Only College This Fall, Despite Pandemic. On the other, this is a big financial blow to the many universities that depend on a lot of full-freight-paying foreign students to make their nut. Then on the gripping hand, there’s this email from a friend: “Trump has just kicked out all Chinese University students by hiding it in a sea of ejected international students. . . . Universities can either help Trump get re-elected by returning to in-person classes or going bankrupt and cutting off money from the Democratic Party.”

Trump’s usual strategy is to bluster against his enemies on Twitter, than do something subtle that leaves them facing economic wreckage.

20200707 01:40 SCFI Wow! Everything turned blue in the Rant.

20200706 20:44 Frank G No need for your presence if they're online. Can you smell the death of Marxist Academia - ironically, or not, by finances?

robin:"NEW: ICE just put down a notice to students in the US on student visas that they must leave the United States if their classes are going to be only online this fall. If they want to stay, ICE says they must transfer to a school with in person instruction."

This is all over my FB feed, with the locals FREAKING OUT about students returning, but also FREAKING OUT about international students being told to leave (they never left as they weren't sure they would get back in.

It looks like checkmate to me by the Administration. Want to hold online classes only? Fine, your students don't need their visas so send them home. Hahahaha - I love it.

I think Trump is giving states until the end of the month to decide what to do about k-12 in person classes and then he'll drop the federal $$ bombshell. So many parents, many of them active voters, want/need their kids in school. This is stepping up to become a huge election issue and I don't think the teachers' unions have figured that out yet. They think they have the cards stacked in their favor and the goodwill of parents. Think again.
20200706 00:28 JohnQC T.W. I wondered if search engines such Giggle were not promoting the Burg in searches.
20200706 00:14 JohnQC Yup, it's me T.W. Thanks for info.
