Law enforcement agencies around the world seized an online marketplace and arrested nearly 300 people allegedly involved in buying and selling drugs
[PUBLISH.TWITTER]

Law enforcement agencies around the world seized an online marketplace and arrested nearly 300 people allegedly involved in buying and selling drugs, European Union
...the successor to the Holy Roman Empire, only without the Hapsburgs and the nifty uniforms and the dancing...
law enforcement agency Europol said Tuesday.

The worldwide operation targeting the "Monopoly Market," coordinated by Europol, is the latest major takedown of sales platforms for drugs and other illicit goods on the so-called dark web, a part of the internet hosted within an encrypted network and accessible only through specialized anonymity-providing tools.

"Our coalition of law enforcement authorities across three continents proves that we all do better when we work together," Europol’s Executive Director, Catherine De Bolle, said in a statement. "This operation sends a strong message to criminals on the dark web: International law enforcement has the means and the ability to identify and hold you accountable for your illegal activities, even on the dark web."

Europol said that 288 suspects were arrested and more than $53.4 million (€50.8 million) in cash and virtual currencies, 850 kilograms of drugs, and 117 firearms were seized in a series of raids in several countries. It was not immediately clear when the arrests happened.

The seized drugs include over 258 kilograms (569 pounds) of amphetamines; 43 kilograms (95 pounds) of cocaine; 43 kilogram (95 pounds) of MDMA; and over 10 kilograms (22 pounds) of LSD and ecstasy pills, the agency said.

The largest number of arrests — 153 — were made in the United States, followed by the United Kingdom with 55 and Germany with 52, Europol said.

"A number of investigations to identify additional individuals behind dark web accounts are still ongoing," Europol said. "As law enforcement authorities gained access to the vendors’ extensive buyer lists, thousands of customers across the globe are now at risk of prosecution as well."

The agency, based in The Hague, built intelligence based on evidence from Germany, which it said seized the marketplace’s "criminal infrastructure" in December 2021.

Leading up to the operation announced Tuesday, German and US authorities took down the "Hydra" dark web market in April last year.

-War on Police-
Ex-Minneapolis police officer found guilty of aiding in George Floyd killing

[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Former Minneapolis police officer Tou Thao has been found guilty of aiding and abetting in the 2020 killing of Saint George Floyd
...The patron saint of Minneapolis...
, a Black man who died after his neck was pinned to the ground by another officer’s knee during a botched arrest.

The charge against Thao, one of four officers involved in the arrest, was the final outstanding criminal case related to Floyd’s killing, which in 2020 ignited protests over racism and police brutality across the US and around the world .

Thao had opted to allow Hennepin County District Judge Peter Cahill decide whether he was guilty or not guilty, waiving his right to a trial by jury. Cahill’s 177-page decision was posted on the court’s website on Tuesday morning. Thao is scheduled to be sentenced on Aug. 7.

Derek Chauvin, a white officer captured on cellphone video kneeling on the handcuffed Floyd’s neck for more than nine minutes, was found guilty of murdering Floyd in 2021.

With Chauvin kneeling on Floyd’s neck, and Lane and Kueng restraining his knees and buttocks, Floyd pleaded for his life before falling limp.

While Floyd was pinned, Thao stood to one side and kept back a small crowd of people, including an off-duty firefighter, who repeatedly yelled at the police to get off Floyd and check his pulse. Police were arresting Floyd on suspicion of his using a counterfeit $20 bill at a nearby store.

"Based on his training, Thao was actively aware that the restraint he witnessed grossly deviated from the standard of care, was extremely dangerous, and risked Floyd’s death," Cahill wrote in his decision.

Two other former officers, Thomas Lane and J. Alexander Kueng, pleaded guilty last year to aiding and abetting second-degree manslaughter, the same charge Thao faced.

Cahill presided over jury trials for Chauvin, Lane and Kueng. In written arguments submitted to the judge in January, prosecutors from the Minnesota attorney general’s office said Thao, a nine-year veteran of the force, knew the deadly risks posed by the way his colleagues restrained Floyd. Thao had a duty to intervene and render medical aid if needed, they said.

"Thao could see Floyd’s life slowly ebbing away," the prosecutors wrote, saying his conduct was callous. "Yet Thao made a conscious decision to actively participate in Floyd’s death."

#1  Is there any doubt why LE recruitment and retention suffers ?
Posted by: Besoeker || 05/03/2023 2:26 Comments || Top||

#2  Recruitment is SUPPOSED to suffer and crime is SUPPOSED to rise. The only solution is obviously a national police force, administered out of DC of course. Can't trust the blood thirsty rubes now can we.

Another casually discussed socialist goal. Rapidly denied in public but relentlessly pursued in fact much in the way of citizen replacement or Cloward/Piven.

#3  ^^^^^^
The entire long-term strategy behind the Soros support for local DAs and defund the police. Uniformed police locally directed by the same DOJ that has politicized the EFFBEYE! The media, willingly or not, is complicit in selling the need for this since it ALWAYS favors lurid crime over coverage of the blessings of traditional American most of us live.

#4  The only way Thao could be guilty of aiding in the George Floyd killing would be if he somehow helped Floyd to ingest fentanyl that day.

But looking at Thao's picture gives us a glimpse into the hierarchical structure of ethnic groups in this country. Thao's ethnic group in that hierarchy is obviously not as high as Floyd's. Maybe they should try rioting more often.

Afghanistan
Daily Evacuation Brief May 3, 2023
[AfghanDigest] LAST 24 HOURS
  • INTERNATIONAL MEETING IN DOHA CONCLUDES – The UN Secretary-General, Antonio Guterres, made a few remarks after the conclusion of the meeting in Doha regarding the situation in Afghanistan. Few details of the results of the meeting were presented but a detailed report is expected by the end of the week. Among those key points stressed by the Secretary-General were:

    • All 23 representatives of countries who attended the meeting agree that stability is a primary concern in Afghanistan.

    • Disengagement is not an option at this time for the United Nations.

    • Reiterated the ban on women in the aid delivery process was unacceptable.

    • Called on donor states who have pledged assistance to make good on their promises and said the UN has only received about 7% of the promised $4.6 billion dollars requested for Afghanistan.

For its part, the Taliban criticized the meeting and declared that, without representation of the IEA, any decisions made regarding the situation in Afghanistan were invalid. A third meeting of the group is planned in the near future.

  • RECENT BOOK DRAWS IRE/CRITICISM FROM TALIBAN – “The Return of the Taliban”, by Dr. Hassan Abbas, 2023 has created a stir in international circles since its release. The work contends the leadership of the Taliban is acting under the tutelage of a foreign power. Dr. Abbas is a dual US/Pakistan citizen and teaches at the National Defense University in the United States. He served in the Pakistani government under Prime Minister Bhutto and President Musharraf. A source in the Taliban regime asserted that shortly after the book was released, several copies were brought into Afghanistan on an international flight and taken immediately to Kandahar. Unsurprisingly, the spokesman for the Taliban has pushed back hard against the allegations made in the book and has accused Dr. Abbas of working as an intelligence agent (presumably for the United States).

  • FORMER TALIBAN OFFICIAL CALLS FOR ‘KNIFE ATTACKS’ ON CRITICS OF REGIME ABROAD – A former spokesperson of the Interior Ministry (Saied Khosti) has used his Twitter account to urge Taliban supporters abroad to kill those who actively criticize the IEA. The tweet that was shared on 2 May specifically called on supporters to: “Kill the fugitives one by one with knives. If anyone preaches against the country, go and kill them. They are very ruthless and terrifying animals.” Khosti is currently without a portfolio in the regime and was heavily criticized for his actions in a forced marriage with Elaha Delawarzai.

  • SECOND GROUP OF AFGHAN NATIONALS EVACUATED FROM SUDAN – Saudi Arabia successfully evacuated 43 Afghan nationals who had been trapped in Khartoum to Jeddah. The Taliban Foreign Ministry failed to say whether additional Afghans remain stranded in Sudan.

CONFLICT TRACKER
Kabul: The ALM announced that 3 Taliban GDI agents had been captured in an undisclosed location and may have been executed after facing a tribunal. A video proclamation shared to Twitter included a video that purports to implicate the agents in the summary executions of Afghans.

Somali army says it killed 60 Al-Shabaab militants in the central region of Mudug, Galmudug state

Death Eaters suffered blows in central Somalia, the military said on Tuesday, with over 60 Death Eaters killed even before the start of the second phase of operations against the group which has been wreaking havoc in central and southern parts of the country.

Military officials said the 60 Death Eaters were killed in a fouled "complex terrorist attack" in Ali-Qadobe, a village situated 30 kilometers spiry of Harardhere, a coastal city in Galmudug

state that was liberated by SNA and local fighters in Jan 2023 following intense fighting between the government forces and the bully boys.

The Death Eaters often plan sporadic retaliatory attacks against government troops, foreign troops serving in peace missions, senior government officials, and in most cases, innocent civilians. Attacks at military Forward Operating Bases are common in Somalia.

It is not clear if any member of the government forces was injured during the attack. Although it is also not clear if members of the African Union

Transition Mission in Somalia [ATMIS], US Africa Command, and the local militia took part in the operation, they have been consistent in aiding the Somali National Army.

The success comes hours after President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud confirmed that the second phase of operations against al-Shabaab is yet to kick off, noting that the program will focus on Southwest and Jubaland once it is activated. The first phase which left over 3,000 Death Eaters dead, focused mainly on HirShabelle and Galmadug.

Nine people including six Saudi citizens were arrested in connection with the drugs bust, SPA added.

The people arrested were expected to receive the shipment in Jeddah and Riyadh.

Separately, a Pak man in Jeddah was arrested in connection with the sale of 10.1 kilograms of methamphetamine, SPA said on Monday.

In a third drugs bust, authorities in the northern city of Hail arrested four Saudi citizens in connection with the sale of amphetamine and related contraband.

All of the arrested individuals were referred to the public prosecutor for legal action to be taken against them.

The arrests come as Saudi Arabia continues its crackdown on illicit drugs, many of which enter the country through Jeddah's port and through its northern borders with Jordan and Iraq.

Denmark charges a Syrian-Danish man – who fought with ISIS in Syria – with treason and committing terror acts

A Danish court charged on Tuesday a Syrian-Danish man with treason over fighting within the ranks of the Islamic State

(ISIS) in Syria.

The District Court in Copenhagen concluded that Ahmad Salem al-Hajj participated in an armed conflict against Denmark in Syria.

Ahmad al-Hajj is a Danish citizen of Syrian origin who had lived in Denmark’s second largest city of Aarhus before traveling to Syria in 2013.

The 32-year-old convicted man is now a wheelchair user as a result of a bomb injury sustained in a battle in Syria.

He was smuggled to The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire...
with his wife and two children in the fall of 2017 and then extradited to Denmark in 2019.

In addition to treason, he is known to be guilty of a number of other terrorism-related violations of the Danish law, including attempting to recruit members of his family into ISIS.

The verdict, set to be read on May 25, will most likely be a life sentence.

The court said that, among other things, Ahmad al-Hajj engaged in a "terrorist" organization, participated in hostilities and agreed with ISIS ideology.

terror groups reportedly agreed to a ceasefire early Wednesday morning, after a daylong flare-up in violence sparked by the death of a prominent Paleostinian Islamic Jihad member while on a hunger strike in an Israeli prison. The two sides agreed to a truce that went into effect before dawn on Wednesday, according to the Al Jazeera and Rooters news outlets, citing Paleostinian sources. The agreement was mediated by officials from Egypt, Qatar
...an emirate on the east coast of the Arabian Peninsula. It sits on some really productive gas and oil deposits, which produces the highest per capita income in the world. They piss it all away on religion, financing the Moslem Brotherhood and several al-Qaeda affiliates. Home of nutbag holy manYusuf al-Qaradawi...

...the Oyster Bay money pit...
, Rooters reported.

A rocket warning siren went off near the southern Israeli community of Nir Am shortly after the start of the reported ceasefire. There were no immediate reports of injuries or damage, or a confirmation of a rocket launch. The Israel Defense Forces said that after a situational assessment, it had decided to return to routine. The Eshkol Regional Council, which borders Gaza, told residents they could return to routine and that schools would be open as usual.

The ceasefire was announced around 24 hours after the Israel Prisons Service announced the death of Paleostinian Islamic Jihad’s Khader Adnan after an 86-day hunger strike. Adnan had been arrested on terror charges and was in detention while awaiting trial.

Shortly after Adnan’s death was announced, four rockets were fired from Gaza, causing no injuries. In response, IDF tanks struck a Hamas, a regional Iranian catspaw, observation post near the border.

On Tuesday afternoon and evening, Gaza bandidos gunnies fired dozens more rockets and mortar shells into Israel. Most were intercepted by the Iron Dome air defense system, landed in open areas, or fell short and landed inside Gaza. Five hit urban areas in southern Israel, though, according to police.

One of the rockets hit a construction site in the city of Sderot, seriously wounding a 25-year-old foreign national and lightly wounding two others, according to the Magen David Adom ambulance service. The three, suffering from shrapnel wounds, were taken to Barzilai Medical Center in Ashkelon. The hospital said in a later statement that the seriously maimed man’s condition had improved, and he was listed in moderate condition.

A security camera recorded a rocket hitting a residential area near Ashkelon.

The so-called "Joint Operations Room" of various Paleostinian terror factions in the Gaza Strip took responsibility for the rocket attacks. In a statement on Tuesday afternoon, the collective, which includes both Hamas and Islamic Jihad, said the attacks came as a response to Adnan’s death. The terror groups fired at least 37 rockets at Israel throughout the day.

Besides the tank fire early in the morning, the IDF held off from immediately responding to the rocket barrages. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s government came under intense pressure to retaliate, though, with much of the push coming from within Netanyahu’s own coalition. The right-wing bloc’s approval rates have declined since it returned to power four months ago, promising to restore security, only to be met with a sustained series of deadly Paleostinian terror attacks and security tensions on other fronts. The coalition’s push to overhaul the judicial system has also been broadly unpopular, according to polls, and has prompted massive, sustained protests around the country.

On Tuesday night, the Israeli Air Force began carrying out Arclight airstrike
...KABOOM!...
s against Hamas terror targets in response to the rockets. In a statement, the IDF said air force jets targeted a number of sites belonging to the Hamas terror group. The targets included a Hamas training camp; another base that housed a weapons production site, a concrete production plant, and a training site; a site for the group’s naval commandos; and a tunnel used by Hamas in southern Gaza.

"The strike deals a serious blow to Hamas’s ability to fortify and arm itself," the IDF said.

Paleostinian media outlets reported that explosions were heard across northern and central Gaza. One man was badly injured in an airstrike on a site belonging to Hamas, Paleostinian media reported. There was no immediate confirmation by Hamas authorities.

Hours later, the IDF announced another round of airstrikes targeting similar Hamas targets in Gaza.

Sirens continued to go off in Israeli communities near the Gaza border into the predawn hours of Wednesday, until shortly before the ceasefire was announced. The IDF said it was investigating the alarms. There were no confirmed rocket strikes, or reports of injuries or damage.

[PUBLISH.TWITTER] The usual process: Launch rockets, holler "aggression," have Egypt and Qatar make promises no Paleostinian intends to keep.

in response to rocket fire early Tuesday morning so that children could get in a normal day of school, Channel 12 news reports.

According to the channel, the military made the decision to hold off after sharing intelligence on the expected response from Gaza with local officials in areas outside the Strip. The decision was made to hold off until later, to allow kids to attend school while affording residents some normality before the flare-up.

The army began shelling positions in Gaza shortly after 3 p.m., when most schools would have already gotten out, though many kindergartens run later. Starting at around 3:30 p.m., Gazooks fired a volley of 22 rockets at Sderot and other areas.

Earlier, Otzma Yehudit MK Almog Cohen accused Gazook Lions of Islam of timing their barrage to coincide with pick-up from kindergarten.

Turkish-backed SNA shoots individual in Syria's Aleppo countryside
[NPASYRIA] On Tuesday afternoon, a young man was shot at by a murderous Moslem of Hamza Division, a faction of the Ottoman Turkish-backed Syrian National Army (SNA), in the city of al-Bab east of Aleppo amid ongoing security unrest in the opposition-held areas.

An exclusive source told North Press that the young man "Ammar al-Shawi" was shot at by a murderous Moslem of the Hamza Division when he was inside his shop in al-Bab.

The source added that al-Shawi was hit in his foot, and he was transferred to a hospital in the city, while the murderous Moslem fled amidst mobilization by the Military Police.

Areas held by the Ottoman Turkish-backed SNA witness security chaos accompanied by killings and successive fighting among the factions themselves amid weapons proliferation and the factions’ inability to maintain security there.

The SDF, with the aerial support of the global coalition against ISIS, conducted a raid in Hasaka city where the camp is located, arresting two ISIS operatives identified as Saeed Hussein al-Hamawi and Ali Mohammed Gahanam by the coalition.

"With air surveillance provided by the international coalition forces, our forces successfully apprehended the terrorist who was responsible for supplying weapons to active terrorist cells in the al-Hol camp, enabling them to carry out killings and liquidations. Additionally, he was involved in smuggling other cell members from the camp to different areas," said the SDF in a statement.

"During the operation, our special units also apprehended another suspect who was working with the detained cell member," it added.

The coalition said in their statement that "SDF coordinated the deliberate targeting of these ISIS members to further disrupt ISIS capabilities, degrade their support networks, and improve security and stability within al-Hol IDP camp."

The arrests followed a wave of crackdowns on the group by the SDF in northeast Syria, in coordination with the global coalition.

Syria war monitor says seven killed in alleged Israeli strike on Aleppo
Updating information on this story from yesterday.
[IsraelTimes] The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights says seven people were killed in an alleged Israeli attack on Aleppo’s international airport late Monday.

The dead include four Syrian army officers and "three pro-Iran

imported muscle," according to the Britannia-based monitor, which relies on a vast network of sources on the ground.

Syrian state-run media reported that one soldier was killed, five more were maimed, and two civilians were maimed.

The observatory says the strikes "completely destroyed" a munitions depot in the Nayrab airfield area.

Israeli missiles also slammed into Syrian air force factories in the Safireh area of Aleppo province, "causing extensive material damage," it said, adding that the sites were used by pro-Iran fighters.

The pro-opposition monitor has been accused of inflating casualty counts in the past.

Explosion at IRGC ammunition depot in Iran’s Semnan province, kills two
[PUBLISH.TWITTER]

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said that a kaboom took place at one of its ammunition depots in Iran’s Semnan province on Tuesday, killing two people and injuring three others.

The explosion occurred during the sorting of defective ammunition, resulting in the deaths of two IRGC members, Jamal Shabestani and Ali Alihosseini, the IRGC said in a statement carried by state media.

Three other IRGC members have also been hospitalized due to injuries sustained in the earth-shattering kaboom, it added.

The statement did not provide any further details.
The Times of Israel adds:
The state-run IRNA news agency says the blast occurred during a “movement of ammunition” at the Guard base on the outskirts of the city of Damghan, in northern Semnan province.
