Wife of Texas gunman Francisco Oropesa arrested in connection with the mass shooting
[NYPOST] The wife of the man suspected of gunning down five of his neighbors in Texas has now also been arrested in connection with the mass shooting, authorities said Wednesday.

Francisco Oropeza’s wife Divimara Lamar Nava, 53, was taken into custody early Wednesday at a home in Conroe, Montgomery County Sheriff Rand Henderson said.

Nava had previously denied knowledge of her husband’s whereabouts in the wake of the Friday night massacre, but cops now allege she actually hid him as the four-day manhunt for him was underway.

It comes after authorities, acting on a tip, found Oropeza hiding beneath a pile of laundry in the closet of a Conroe home on Tuesday evening.

Oropeza, a Mexican national who officials say has been deported from the US four times, is set to be charged with five counts of murder.

His wife is being held on a felony charge of hindering the apprehension or prosecution of a known felon.

Authorities haven’t said who owned the house, if Oropeza knew them or if anyone else was inside when he was located.

OKC female officer severly beaten during domestic call
OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) — An Oklahoma City Police officer is still recovering in the hospital days after she was brutally attacked while responding to a 911 call. News 4 is learning this was not the suspect’s first violent run in with the law.

"When she stopped moving, that’s when I got scared," said Perrishea Smith.

Smith said on April 27th she was drinking with her friends and DeAngelo Wright at her apartment near NW 19th and Ann Arbor. She said the atmosphere turned aggressive after Wright started fighting with her friends. Smith said Wright then choked her and lifted her off the ground. According to court documents, "she was strangled for 10-15 seconds before he released her."

Oklahoma City Police checked on Smith a couple times before, but Wright had run off. During the third check, the police department said two officers were sent to the home, but Sgt. Morgan Reynolds got there first.

#1  Hewas charged with two counts of assault and battery on a police officer. Both were later dismissed.

It's not just Soros DAs that do this. DAs seldom prosecute this specific crime unless its tied to other charges and then all too often dropped for a plea bargain. Its all a game. Coordinating officers to be at a hearing, Defense asking for and getting delays, till the DA with filled dockets just wants to move the case. Once again the judiciary plays into the game by granting those delays.

#2  White female Police Sergeant, black male assailant, gutless Command Staff for allowing the DA to drop any charges. That she didn't use pepper spray, taser or service weapon is a hint of the Kim Potter/Derek Chauvin effects. If your department is unwilling to be adamant with the DA about getting maximum penalties for this kind of devastating assault, you cannot expect aggressive policing in the future from rank-and file officers. You get SFPD!

Taliban Commander Allegedly Commits Sexual Assault in Panjshir Province: Sources
[8am] According to local sources, Mawlawi Muttaqi, the commander of the Taliban
...Arabic for students...
’s security command for Panjshir province, forcibly entered a residential house and sexually assaulted a woman.

A credible source from the ranks of the Taliban in Panjshir told Hasht-e Subh that the incident occurred on Monday, May 1, in the village of Frubal, in the central district of this province.

The source added that Mawlawi Muttaqi was arrested by internal intelligence forces of the Taliban’s security command in Panjshir during the sexual assault.

"The commander forcibly entered a house in the village of Frubal and sexually assaulted a woman. One of the family members secretly contacted the commander, and the intelligence forces arrested him," the source said.

Meanwhile,
...back at the railroad tracks, Little Nell tried to kick her bound feet and scream post the snotty handkerchief Scarface Al had stuff into her mouth...
some local sources say that Mawlawi Muttaqi also sexually assaulted a policewoman in the area, but the Taliban source denied the claim, saying, "No, no, she was not a policewoman, she was a resident of the same area."

Mawlawi Muttaqi is the main resident of Kandahar province and lives in the house of the former government’s public health director in the Parakh area of Panjshir center.

The identity of the policewoman who was assaulted is not revealed, but sources say she is married.

It is worth mentioning that some Taliban officials have been accused of sexual assault since the beginning of their rule.

In the latest case, the son of a Taliban commander and another member of the group reportedly shot and killed a maiden of tender years in the Saad-seyah area of Firozkoh city, the capital of Ghor province, on Thursday night, April 27, after failing to sexually assault her.

Daily Evacuation Brief May 4, 2023
[AfghanDigest] LAST 24 HOURS
  • GIRLS’ SCHOOL CURRICULUM DRAFT SUBMITTED TO THE SUPREME LEADER FOR REVIEW – An unconfirmed report is being shared by a few Taliban officials that claim a draft of the curriculum has finally been presented to the Supreme Leader. The chief of the Taliban’s military medical forces, Mohammad Tahir Ahrar, was one of the Taliban officials to share the news on his personal Twitter account. As of publication, no official announcement has been made by the Taliban confirming this news. However, some indicators that the Taliban might be relenting on the hated ban have surfaced. For instance, some provinces have encouraged female students to fill out applications for college entrance exams and have done so openly. For many, the announcement does little to lower concerns as many believe any new curriculum will continue to ban women/girls from studying disciplines like engineering and business. Some rights organizations have already begun planning protest campaigns that will seek to open all fields to all genders.

  • INDIA SAYS AMMUNITION AND ARMS USED IN THE POONCH TERROR ATTACK CAME FROM AFGHANISTAN – Investigators from the Indian Armed Forces announced some preliminary findings in the Poonch terror attack case. Of note, Indian officials say that the ammunition and weapons recovered at the scene and in follow-up searches came from Afghanistan. Previous reports in 2022 coming out of India showed that US weapons stocks were showing up in a few cities. Indian officials are concerned about a potential terror attack during the upcoming G20 meetings scheduled for 22-25 May. Currently, Jammu security forces are activated and an alert has been issued for an ‘impending terrorist action’. Several Indian politicians have continued to contend that Pakistan aided the terrorists who planned and carried out the Poonch attacks.

  • UNITED NATIONS TO STAY IN AFGHANISTAN – The Secretary-General, Antonio Guterres stated that the UN will stay in Afghanistan, even with the restrictions on its female staff members. However, the Secretary-General warned that donor states had not fulfilled their pledge obligations and announced that less than 7% of the $4.6 billion requested had been made available.

  • POTENTIAL PAKISTAN FLASH POINT ON THE RADAR – The talks between the government and the party of the former PM (PTI) have concluded without a resolution on the election dates. The deposed former PM, Imran Khan, has warned of country-wide demonstrations if the elections in Punjab do not take place on 14 May. With only ten days left, a lack of funding, and virtually no prior preparation it is unlikely the elections will be held. The country may need to brace itself for sizable civil disobedience displays. The situation bears monitoring as it could easily turn violent and the former PM has shown little restraint in using any pretext to criticize/attack the regime.

  • 58$ BILLION CHINA-PAKISTAN RAILROAD PLAN, IS ONLY A PLAN – Several articles appeared at the end of April warning of a massive infrastructure investment plan that would culminate in a 3,000-kilometer railway linking Xinjiang, China, to the Gwadar Port. Investigative journalists have since poured cold water on the story and traced its origins back to a simple ‘feasibility analysis’ that focused on the hypothetical financing models that could be employed, should the project receive a green light. The bottom line is, there is no current plan to commence work on the project and engineers have not solved the problems associated with the difficult terrain in the Karakoram region.

Foreign fighters among militants killed in Somalia operation
[Garowe] At least 10 imported muscle were killed in an operation targeting al-Shabaab
...... the Islamic version of the old Somali warlord...
gunnies in Somalia, the country's National Security and Intelligence Agency [NISA] confirmed, in the latest crackdown which comes a few weeks before the commencement of the second phase of operations against the group.

The spy agency said that the operation, which was aided by international partners, left at least 46 al-Shabaab gunnies dead in Sharif Farm, about 8 kilometers north of Barire town within the troubled Lower Shabelle region. Barire town, 60 km south of Mogadishu is prone to frequent al-Shabaab attacks.

Among the dead were 10 imported muscle but the spy agency did not reveal their nationalities at the time of press. Previously, imported muscle have been killed in al-Shabaab operations with the majority of them coming from neighboring Kenya, Tanzania, Æthiopia, and even Uganda, with others coming from Pakistain and Yemen
...an area of the Arabian Peninsula sometimes mistaken for a country. It is populated by more antagonistic tribes and factions than you can keep track of...
While the international partners who participated in the operation were not immediately mentioned, the Somali security forces have been beneficiaries of support from the US Africa Command and the African Union
...a union consisting of 53 African states, most run by dictators of one flavor or another. The only all-African state not in the AU is Morocco. Established in 2002, the AU is the successor to the Organisation of African Unity (OAU), which was even less successful...
Transition Mission in Somalia [ATMIS] who help in aerial surveillance and ground combats respectively.

Statistics by the US Africa Command show that al-Shabaab has close to 8,000 active fighters but the number may have reduced significantly following the first phase operation by the Somali National Army [SNA] which left over 3,000 dead. However,
we can't all be heroes. Somebody has to sit on the curb and applaud when they go by...
the number of active gunnies still remains a secret within the command of the group.

In the recent past, al-Shabaab had conceded participation of the foreign mercenaries in sophisticated attacks with the most recent being attacks in the capital Mogadishu. The group gave names of foreign nationals who took part in the Manda Nabal Base attack in Kenya three years ago, further confirming their huge international network.

Data from the United Nations
...an organization conceived in the belief that we're just one big happy world, with the sort of results you'd expect from such nonsense...
also indicates that the group makes up to $120 million annually from revenue collected through extortion and support from outside the country, with $24 million going to purchasing of weapons while the rest goes to payment of fighters and other logistics.

But the government has devised mechanisms for blocking revenue collection channels and has even closed down about 250 bank accounts and 70 mobile money transfer firms associated with the group. Business owners have also been warned against remittances to the turbans, with those found culpable risking cancellation of their licenses.

The al-Shabaab once admitted that it also supports foreign gunnies in West and Central Africa but the claims could not be verified. The latest setback against al-Shabaab backs the government's commitment to the fight against the group, with the second phase of operations set to start soon.

Senior separatist among 3 found involved in terror funding: SIA

The Special Investigation Agency (SIA) Kashmir
...a disputed territory lying between India and Pakistain. After partition, the Paks grabbed half of it and call it Azad (Free) Kashmir. The remainder they refer to as "Indian Occupied Kashmir". They have fought four wars with India over it, the score currently 4-0 in New Delhi's favor. After 72 years of this nonsense, India cut the Gordian knot in 2019, removing the area's special status, breaking off Ladakh as a separate state, and allowing people from other areas to settle (or in the case of the Pandits, to resettle) there....
Wednesday said that a senior separatist leader was among three persons found involved in terror funding.

A front man of SIA Kashmir in a statement issued here said that the SIA Kashmir produced a chargesheet against the three accused for raising and circulating funds to further terrorist designs in J&K.

"During investigation of case FIR No 22/2022 of Police Station SIA/CIK Kashmir, SIA Kashmir chapter traced the foundations and nodes of terrorist folds which had been hatching innovative conspiracies to keep the pot of terrorism boiling in J&K by raising and circulating funds," he said. "The investigation team touched the nerves of the nefarious elements involved in various overt and covert acts of propaganda and criminal proliferation at the international level to overawe the government machinery and harm the unity, illusory sovereignty, integrity and security of India."

The SIA Kashmir front man said that among the accused was Bashir Ahmad Mir alias Moulvi Bashir Irfani, son of late Muhammad Rehamtullah Mir of Nathpora, Bandipora, presently at Alochi Bagh, Srinagar.

"Mir is a hardcore propagandist and conspirator and was the General Secretary of Hurriyat Conference (G)
...an alliance of 30+ Moslem political, social and religious organizations formed on 9 March 1993 as a united political front to raise the cause of Moslem Kashmiri separatism that from founding has looked to Pakistan’s ISI for support. At the moment there are approximately three major factions. The (G) means the faction headed by Syed Ali Shah Geelani...
and chairman of Shabba-ul-Muslameen, who had been found receiving and holding proceeds of terrorism in the shape of hefty amounts of currency, which had been recovered from his possession," he said. "The accused entered into a common criminal design along with two other absconding accused individuals to rejuvenate terrorism in J&K and disturb the peaceful environment. The trio has been found involved in incentivising prospective members to spread the tentacles of criminal plots in various districts of J&K to broaden the membership grid. The two absconding accused persons have been found hobnobbing with the ISI of Pakistain for having the patronage and logical support in carrying out terrorist activities in J&K. Besides raising funds they have been found instrumental in knitting anti-India propaganda outside India besides promoting disaffection among the peaceful public, particularly impressionable youth. The chargesheet has been produced in the Court of Special Judge, NIA Court Srinagar under the provisions of Unlawful Activities Prevention Act, 1967, as amended on May 3, 2023."

The SIA Kashmir front man said that the investigation of the case had been completed within six months.

13 Lion’s Den fighters turn themselves in to PA security forces
[IsraelTimes] Paleostinian official says the Nablus-based terror group members surrendered ’to protect themselves... and end their case with the Israelis’

Thirteen alleged members of the Lion’s Den terror group have handed themselves over to Paleostinian Authority security forces in the West Bank in recent days, a Paleostinian security official said Wednesday.

The Lion’s Den — or Areen al-Ossud in Arabic — emerged late last year in the city of Nablus in the north of the West Bank as violence surged in the Israeli-Paleostinian conflict.

Made up of young Paleostinian men, it has earned a daring reputation in repeated festivities with Israeli soldiers which have claimed the lives of some of its fighters.

The security official, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the 13 members had "turned themselves in to the security establishment to protect themselves and to be integrated into the security establishment and end their case with the Israelis."

"All this was done by their own will, and most of them wanted to turn themselves in after talking with the security forces," the official told AFP.
The official confirmed recent media reports that Uday al-Azizi, one of the group’s leaders, was among those who had turned themselves in.

Last month, the Lion’s Den said in a Telegram post that it carried out an extrajudicial killing of a "traitor" in Nablus’ Old City.

Israeli forces have killed multiple Lion’s Den fighters in recent months as part of an ongoing anti-terror campaign.

In February, an Israeli military raid in Nablus killed 11 Paleostinians, the deadliest single operation by Israel in the West Bank in nearly two decades.

The army said it was an operation based on intelligence of an imminent threat from Lion’s Den terrorists.

The Paleostinian group has grabbed credit for numerous attacks targeting Israelis in the West Bank, including the killing of a soldier in October.

Palestinian man shot, seriously hurt after allegedly grabbing IDF officer’s gun
[IsraelTimes] Military says troops try to disperse gathering near West Bank town of al-Khader, after soldiers allegedly assaulted by suspect they sought to question

A Paleostinian man was shot and seriously maimed after allegedly attempting to grab an officer’s gun in the West Bank on Wednesday, the military and Paleostinian health officials said.
"Gimme dat gun!"
"No! [BANG!]"
"aaaiiieee! I am undone!"

According to the Israel Defense Forces, troops conducting "routine inspection activity" near the town of al-Khader, close to Bethlehem, were assaulted by a Paleostinian man who they sought to question.

A military spokesperson told The Times of Israel that the soldiers used riot dispersal means and live fire in the air following the assault.

Shortly after, a crowd began to gather around the soldiers, and at one point one Paleostinian man "grabbed at an IDF officer’s weapon in a suspicious manner," the spokesperson said.

The troops used live fire against the man, the spokesperson added.

The suspect was not armed and did not manage to snatch the officer’s firearm.

The Paleostinian Authority Health Ministry said the man was brought to a local hospital with a gunshot wound to his pelvis and shrapnel in his chest and abdomen.

He was undergoing surgery and listed at death's door, the ministry said.

No soldiers were hurt in the incident.

Turkish raid prompted ISIS leader to detonate suicide vest: Report
Even more on this story.

[Shafaq News] ISIS leader Abu Hussein al-Qurashi
,,,somewhat more fully Abu al-Hussein al-Husseini al-Qurashi...
's six-month rule ended when he detonated a boom jacket during a Ottoman Turkish special forces raid in northwest Syria on Saturday after refusing to surrender, a senior Ottoman Turkish security official said.

The third ISIS leader to die by detonating an explosive vest during a raid since 2019, Qurashi leaves behind an organization that once ruled millions of people via its control of a third of Iraq and Syria but has now been forced underground.

The four-hour raid, led by The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire...
's National Intelligence Organization (MIT), saw special forces blast their way through a perimeter fence, back door and walls of his hideout in a two-storey building near the town of Jandaris, the security official said.

Two Syrian security sources said Ottoman Turkish-backed Syrian gangs set a perimeter around the area while Ottoman Turkish special forces, who one source said earlier entered Syria in armoured vehicles, raided the house.

The MIT declined to comment for this report. Ottoman Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan said on Sunday Qurashi "was neutralized" as part of the intelligence forces' operation.

Images of the site provided by the security official showed a red-roofed building with most of the walls on its ground floor blown out.

Metal and cinderblock debris lay scattered on a paved patio with a small fountain, and on the brick-red soil of an adjacent field planted with olive trees.

The MIT, which the Ottoman Turkish source said had been following Qurashi for a long time, conducted the covert operation after determining he would soon relocate, the official said, adding that Qurashi detonated his boom jacket when he realised he would be captured.

There were calls for Qurashi to surrender but no response, the source said.

Like his predecessor, Qurashi never made a public address, a marker of how far the group's reach has fallen since former leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi climbed the pulpit of a crowded mosque in Iraq in 2014 to declare his self-styled caliphate.

'LAST SAFE HAVEN'
Qurashi was the latest in a series of senior ISIS members to be either captured or killed in Syria's northwest, a sliver of territory held by rival militias, including hardline gangs and jihadist factions backed by Turkey.

The area has become the most significant ISIS safe haven in the region after the group was territorially defeated in Iraq in 2017 and Syria in 2019, with members and supporters slipping across the remote 600-km (370-mile) Iraqi-Syrian border.

Navvar Shaban, of the Omran Center for Strategic Studies, said: "There are a lot of sleeper cells in these areas that can facilitate more ISIS officials coming into these zones, and plenty of checkpoints at which they can pay money to get through easily."

An Iraqi intelligence official said: "The only safe haven for the senior ISIS (ISIS) leaders is in Syria, and specifically in areas bordering Turkey."

Iraqi intelligence cooperation with Turkey played a major role in recent operations targeting senior ISIS members, according to the source and a second Iraqi intelligence official focused on key IS leaders' activities in Iraq, Syria and Turkey.

The cooperation helped Turkey determine the approximate whereabouts of Qurashi in Syria

They said Turkey facilitated the entry of Iraqi agents into northwestern Syria, who then lured senior ISIS leader Khaled al-Jabouri from Turkey to Syria where he was killed in a U.S. dronezap last month.

In the process of that operation, Ottoman Turkish-backed gangs detained two ISIS members, based in Afrin and a village near Jandaris, who had aimed to provide Jabouri with a message from Qurashi, the sources said.

"This was a red flag that Qurashi was highly likely hiding in this area," one of the sources said.

The U.S. had also helped with the provision of intelligence obtained by advanced systems that could intercept ISIS communications in Syria, the source said.

A spokesperson for the U.S.-led anti-ISIS coalition said they do not comment on the military operations of other nations. A Ottoman Turkish security official declined to comment on any Iraqi intelligence involvement in the operation.

SUCCESSION
With Qurashi gone, analysts expect ISIS to eventually announce a new leader.

He would become the fourth in as many years, presiding over a group that has seen a significant reduction in activities across the areas it operates, chiefly the Middle East and Africa.

The Iraqi intelligence officials said ISIS's new leader would likely be an Iraqi, like his predecessors, but there were only a handful of leaders left who were eligible to take over the role, three of whom were known to Iraqi intelligence.

Hassan Hassan, the author of a book on ISIS and editor of New Lines magazine which publishes work on the group, said ISIS previously built up leadership profiles to prepare followers for succession but had not been able to do so in recent years.

"ISIS no longer has the type of credible leaders it can advertise, at least internally, and the security situation has also become too complicated for it to prioritise that aspect," he told Rooters.

"The last leader was the hardest for even Iraqi and American intelligence to guess, and this applies even more to the coming one," he said.

ISIS has not confirmed or commented on the killing of its leader.

ISIS murderous Moslems continue to wage Death Eater attacks and a U.N. report published in February said ISIS is estimated to have 5,000 to 7,000 members and supporters spread between Syria and Iraq, roughly half of them fighters.
