Afghanistan
Taliban Detain Former Government Special Forces Member in Panjshir
[8am] Local sources have reported the arrest of a former member of the government’s special forces by the Taliban
...Arabic for students...
in Panjshir province.

Sources on Thursday, June 15, speaking to Hashte-Subh, reveal that the individual, identified as Shirin Agha, was detained by the Taliban approximately a week ago near the village of Tankho in the Dara district. He has since been transferred to an undisclosed location.

According to the sources, Shirin Agha had been unemployed following the collapse of the previous government and had no affiliation with any group.

The motive behind the arrest of this former military personnel remains unknown.
Potential dissident. Destroyed before he gets any bright ideas, like all who went before him. I understand why the Khaama Press reporter doesn’t want to say it aloud, but surely everyone knows.
The Taliban have not yet commented on this matter.

Meanwhile,
...back at the shootout, Butch shot Black Bart's other gun out of his other hand......
the Taliban have increased the trend of detaining former government soldiers in Paktia province. According to published statistics, within the past month alone, the group has detained at least seven former government soldiers from Panjshir and Kabul.
See? All credit due to the Biden administration for this accomplishment.

Sudan slips into crisis with critical shortages as conflict enters third month
[AFRICANEWS] The war between rival generals enters its third month on Thursday with no end in sight in Sudan, where planes bombed a southern town for the first time and the regular army accused paramilitaries of "abducting and murdering" a governor in Darfur.

The air force carried out "air strikes for the first time on El-Obeid", a town 350 kilometers south of the capital Khartoum, "which has been encircled by paramilitary forces since the beginning of the fighting", several witnesses told AFP.

Meanwhile,
...back at the hanging, Butch continued with his last words, trying not to repeat himself too often......
on Wednesday, the Sudanese army accused paramilitaries from the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) of having "kidnapped and murdered" the governor of West Darfur state, Khamis Abdallah Abakar, describing the incident as a "brutal act".

This alleged liquidation means that the Rapid Support Forces have added a "new line to their list of barbaric crimes committed against all the Sudanese people", the army said on Facebook.

The governor's death could not be independently confirmed by AFP.

The fighting, which began on April 15, has so far been concentrated mainly in Khartoum, the capital of five million inhabitants, and in the vast Darfur region in the west.

This war between the army of General Abdel Fattah al-Burhane and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces of General Mohammed Hamdane Daglo has claimed more than 1,800 lives, according to the NGO ACLED.

More than 2.2 million people have fled their homes across the country, including over a million from the capital Khartoum, according to the International Organization for Migration (IOM). More than 528,000 of these displaced people have taken refuge in neighboring countries, according to the UN agency.

Civilians who have not fled have "no food, water or medicine left", Ahmed Taha, a Khartoum resident, told AFP.

"We have nothing left. The country is devastated. Wherever you look, you see the impact of bombs and bullets", according to this witness.

Sudan: Army accuses RSF of West Darfur governor ''assassination''
[AFRICANEWS] The Sudanese army on Wednesday accused the paramilitaries of the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) of "abducting and murdering" the governor of West Darfur state, nearly two months after a power struggle between two rivals plunged the country into a bloody war.

The liquidation of Khamis Abdallah Abakar means the Rapid Support Forces have added a "new line to their list of barbaric crimes committed against the entire Sudanese people", the military said on Facebook, calling the incident "act brutally".

Since April 15, the war between the army of General Abdel Fattah al-Burhane and the paramilitaries of the Rapid Support Forces (FSR), of General Mohammed Hamdane Daglo, has claimed more than 1,800 lives according to the NGO ACLED, and more than a million and a half displaced, according to the UN.

Generals al-Burhane and Daglo had joined forces during the 2021 putsch to oust the civilians with whom they had shared power since the fall of Bashir in 2019. But differences then emerged and, in the absence of agreement on the integration of the FSR in the army, degenerated into war.

The fighting is mainly concentrated in the capital Khartoum and in Darfur, a region where local militias, tribal fighters and armed civilians have joined the festivities.

While several truces have not been applied, NGOs are reporting a deterioration in the humanitarian situation in Khartoum and Darfur.

El Salvador's 'Terrorism Confinement Center' (video)
[YouTube] The president of El Salvador launched an unprecedented war on the gangs that have long plagued the Central American country, arresting an astounding 65,000 suspects and building a huge new prison to hold them. It is astonishing to see. Let me tell you about it.

The Mob Reporter here with news of the state of emergency declared one year ago, that allows special powers to root out street gangs that controlled many Salvadoran communities. They publicize the strict crackdown with in-your-face images, turning the strong-arm tactic into a slick, publicity campaign. El Salvador’s president, Nayib Bukele, boasts he now runs "the most criticized prison in the world." It certainly has its critics, but also many fans. Have a look at this extraordinary facility in extraordinary circumstances.

Residents of Azerbaijan convicted of involvement in a radical group in Syria
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[KavkazUzel] The Baku court has sentenced members of the radical group "Army of Allah" in Syria, Vasif Einiev and Shikhzade Mammadov. Both are sentenced to seven years in prison, despite remorse.

According to the prosecution, Einiev and Mammadov went to the Syrian city of Idlib, where they joined the group, in which until February 2022 they took part in the battles and carried out guard duty. They were arrested in January at the airport on their return to Baku from Syria.

Vasif Einiev, a 29-year-old resident of Shirvan, told the court that since mid-2019 he began to adhere to the ideas of Salafism. In March 2021, on the social network Instagram, Einiev met the brothers Fagan and Hagan Geylerov, who suggested that he go to Syria to "war against the infidels."

On May 31, 2021, Einiev, together with the Geilerov brothers, flew to Ankara, where via the Telegram messenger he contacted an Azerbaijani nicknamed "Abu Jabir", who ordered them to go to Antakya, from where they were illegally transported to Syria. There, Einiev and the Feyzievs were met by ethnic Azerbaijanis who called themselves "Abu Jabir", "Abu Rayyan" and "Ali", who helped them get to Idlib, haqqin.az writes.

"We arrived in the mountainous village of Yamalia, from the height of which the Turkish border was visible. Upon arrival at the village, my phone was taken away and placed in some house, where, in addition to Azerbaijanis, another 50 people of different nationalities lived ... A certain Elnur, nicknamed " Abu Ahmed," Einiev said in court.

According to him, for almost half a year he was part of a combat group that defended its territory from another illegal group - Jabhat al-Nusra (recognized as a terrorist organization in Russia). "We were taught how to handle weapons, however, the weapons themselves were not issued. On October 25, 2021, Jabhat al-Nusra militants * attacked us. To defend myself, I was forced to buy a Kalashnikov assault rifle for $ 70 and take a place on the defensive," - said the defendant.

According to the defendant, al-Nusra militants * opened fire from heavy machine guns and artillery, after which Abu Ahmed decided to surrender. As a result of the clash, several Azerbaijanis died, and the survivors were held captive for two weeks.

“We were demanded to join the ranks of Al Nusra *, threatening to hand us over to the Turkish police if we did not agree. Some of our militants agreed, the rest, including me, spent three months in captivity, after which I and two other Dagestanis were handed over to hands of the Turkish police. And six Azerbaijanis remained in the Jabhat-al-Nusra group*. I am very sorry for what I did," Einiev said.

A 28-year-old resident of the Hajikabul district, Shihzade Mammadov, nicknamed "Abdulhey", told the court that he went to Syria with childhood friends ... In Syria, where they got illegally ... at the end of 2021, their positions were attacked by the Jabhat-An- Nusra"*. "After three days of fighting, several people were killed, and we surrendered. I am very sorry for what I did," the defendant said, quoted by haqqin.az.

Vasif Einiev and Shikhzade Mammadov were each sentenced to seven years in a penal colony.

The "Caucasian Knot" also wrote that in February, brothers Mirjavad and Mirjalal Salakhov from Azerbaijan were arrested on charges of participating in the activities of the Islamic State terrorist organization in Syria. And earlier, the State Security Service of Azerbaijan announced the detention of an alleged accountant of a terrorist organization.

Accused Pentagon leaker Jack Teixeira indicted by federal grand jury for mishandling classified documents
[NYPOST] Jack Teixeira, the ex-Air National Guardsman accused of leaking classified military intel, was indicted by a federal grand jury Thursday.

The 21-year-old was indicted on six counts of willful retention and transmission of national defense secrets in Massachusetts after he was arrested in April, the Justice Department said Thursday.

Teixeira was identified as the possible Pentagon leaker after troves of classified docs were discovered in an invite-only Discord group — a social media platform typically used for gamers — before they were later shared more widely.

He pleaded not guilty
"Wudn't me."
to charges tied to a criminal complaint earlier this year but has not been arraigned following the newly unsealed indictment against him.

He was ordered to stay in jail ahead of his trial last month by a federal judge who said Teixeira would possibly flee the country or obstruct justice if released.

Four ‘terrorists’ killed near Afghan border
[Dawn] Four suspected terrorists, including a ringleader, were killed in an exchange of fire during an operation conducted by the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) of police in the Gohri Kaul area, close to the Pak-Afghan border, on Wednesday.

Arms and ammunition, including a suicide jacket, were seized during the operation, according to a CTD statement.

It explained that a suspect in jug, Ali Mohammad alias Chhota Qari, during the course of investigation disclosed that he along with Abdul Qadeer alias Qadeer Bacha alias Mansoor, Imdadullah alias Gran and Akhtar Jan alias Gudd Mansoor targeted police officials at Killa Abdullah grid station and fled, leaving head constable Mohammad Ismail severely injured.

The suspects were associated with Tehrik-e-Jihad Pakistain (TJP) group that infiltrated into FC Headquarters in Moslem Bagh on May 12.
TJP announced its existence in February, its purpose being to establish an Islamic system in Pakistan via armed jihad. Its first claimed action, a jacket wallah in Balochistan, was also claimed by ISIS-K. Its second was in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa.
Acting on the information provided by the suspect, security forces cordoned off the area and asked them to surrender.

However,
some people cause happiness wherever they go; others whenever they go...
the suspects opened indiscriminate fire on the law enforcers. During the shootout, one of the terrorists, wearing a suicide jacket, attempted to detonate but the attempt was thwarted with a sniper shot.

In an ensuing exchange of fire, four terrorists, including Ali Mohammad alias Chhota Qari, were killed.

According to the CTD, the arms and ammunition seized from their hideout included two SMGs, six magazines, 170 live cartridges, one suicide waist weighing around 10kg, three hand grenades, a cycle of violence and a car that was allegedly used in the Moslem Bagh attack.
