Afghanistan
Daily Evacuation Brief July 11, 2023
[AfghanDigest] LAST 24 HOURS
  • TALIBAN ISSUE THREAT WARNING TO LOCAL LEADERS – A leaked memorandum that has been attributed to the Taliban Ministry of the Interior is warning local leaders across all Provinces of possible impending ISIS suicide attacks. The memorandum says the leaders themselves could be targeted directly and warns of ISIS-K infiltrators who may infiltrate official ceremonies while concealing suicide vests on their persons. Provincial leaders were ordered to remain alert and put special emphasis on local security for any public events. If the document is real, it certainly puts a dent in the Taliban’s continual assertions that ISIS-K has been defeated or, does not exist in the country any longer.

  • FORMER CIA OFFICIAL IN PAKISTAN CRITICIZES PAKISTAN’S INTELLIGENCE SERVICE FOR SUPPORTING THE TALIBAN – Robert Greiner, a former CIA official in Islamabad participated in an interview where he criticized Pakistan’s government for attempting to maintain ties to the Taliban and supporting them. He claimed the goal of intelligence officials in Islamabad was to ‘keep the door open’ for future options.

  • PAKISTAN ENVOY’S REMARKS PUT TALIBAN IN DIFFICULT POSITION – When Asif Ali Durrani, Pakistan’s envoy to the IEA heaped praise on the relocation project to remove perceived threats from the Durand Line to the interior of Afghanistan, he inadvertently started a firestorm. The Taliban immediately fired back in an attempt to make clear that only refugees from Waziristan were being relocated in the moves. Several photos and videos have been shared on Afghan social media sites showing trucks laden with armed men, families, and personal belongings arriving in Northern Provinces. The armed men in the photos do not appear to be dressed in traditional Taliban clothing. While it is entirely possible the Taliban allowed the refugees to keep personal weapons, it is highly unlikely. However, the bigger problem here is that Pakistan’s announcement makes the Taliban look as if they are appeasing Pakistan and those TTP militants who are in Afghanistan may view this as a betrayal. Allowing these refugees to keep personal weapons while gun confiscations have accelerated under Taliban rule sends a negative message to Afghan citizens.

  • AFGHAN CITIZEN AMONG THOSE ARRESTED IN FOILED TERROR PLOT IN BAKU, AZERBAIJAN – Azerbaijan’s security service announced they had arrested Fawzan Mosa Khan for reportedly planning a terrorist attack in the country. Apparently, his motives were to spread panic, influence political decision-making, and disrupt public order. His arrest follows on the heels of an arrest in February when an Azerbaijani man was taken into custody and charged with providing support to ISIS.

  • VISA EXTENSION PROCESS FOR AFGHANS IN IRAN SIMPLIFIED – Iran has taken measures to assist Afghans in Iran with extending their visas. Up to this point, the procedures for gaining an extension have been costly and difficult. The new process is meant to make it easier and affordable. A report about the new process can be accessed HERE.

NEXT 24 HOURS
POSSIBLE PAKISTANI COUNTER-TERROR OPERATIONS ALONG DURAND LINE – As the TTP offensive against government forces in Pakistan continues to intensify in July, multiple reports are spreading on social media of TTP members attempting to cross back into Pakistan. Drone patrols over the border along the Durand line have intensified over the past three days and scattered reports continue to assert that Pakistan’s military forces are deploying closer to the border. While this information is not confirmed, those at-risk Afghans who live in the area could see a potential border clash.

Taliban’s Latest Move: Arrest of Six, Including Two Women, in Takhar
[8am] Local sources in Takhar have reported that Taliban
...Arabic for students...
fighters have detained six civilians, including two women, in the Warsaj district of the province.

Sources have informed Hasht-e Subh that Taliban intelligence forces entered the residence of Jabar, the former representative of the Takhar people in parliament, on the night of Sunday, July 9. They arrested his nephew, niece, two farmers, and their wives, subsequently transferring them to an undisclosed location.

According to the sources, the Taliban released the two farmers and their wives after subjecting them to torture and coerced confessions regarding the disclosure of weapons’ locations. However,
a woman is only as old as she admits...
there is currently no information available regarding the fate of the nephew and niece, who are related to the former representative of the Takhar people in parliament.

The Taliban have not issued any statements regarding this incident as of yet.

It is important to note that in recent days, the Taliban have escalated the detention of civilians and conducted thorough house-to-house searches throughout Takhar.

The Warsaj district, situated near Panjshir, holds significant strategic value for the Taliban.

Eight civilians killed in IED explosion in Bulo Burde, Hiiraan region

Eight people from two families were killed in a landmine explosion in Bulo Burde, Hiiraan region Sunday.

Sources said the victims, seven men and one woman were killed after an autorickshaw they were travelling in drove into an explosive improvised device (IED) as they headed back to their homes from the farm in Ji’ibow area of Bulo Burde district.

Bulo Burde district commissioner Saadam Abdi Idow confirmed the incident to the media.

"These people were a family who came from their fields on a three-wheeled cycle of violence and they were hit by the earth-shattering kaboom and they died," said Saadam Abdi.

Amo the dead were a father and his two sons.

The circumstances surrounding the incident remain unclear but it is believed the IED was part of the remnants left by the krazed killer group al-Shabaab

Salaried Shaboob turban gets 15 in the hoosegow for kaboom

A military court in Mogadishu has sentenced a man accused of being a member of al-Shabaab
...... an Islamic infestation centering on Somalia attempting to metastasize into Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, and similar places, all ofwhich have enough problems without them...
to 15 years for his membership to the outlawed group and carrying out attacks in the city.

The court of First Instance sentenced Yusuf Duqow Hussein Dhihisow to 15 years in jail following his arrest and trial. The court held that the convict was responsible for several attacks in Mogadishu.

It noted that on May 14 this year, Dhihisow hurled a hand grenade at the premises of one of the departments of Banaadir Regional Administration in Mogadishu.

The prosecution told the court that Dhihisow joined al-Shabaab from Bur-Eylo in Bur-Hakaba district, and was paid $70 per month. It added that the convict lived in Eeltimir neighbourhood in Dayniile district and worked with a woman to carry out attacks in Mogadishu.
What a hussy she must be, unnamed though she remains.

Curfew in central Nigeria state after new attacks
[AlAhram] Nigeria imposed a 24-hour curfew in a north-central region after more tit-for-tat attacks killed at least another nine people.

The move was imposed Sunday in Mangu district in Plateau State followed two months of festivities between nomadic herders and pastoral farmers that community leaders say left more than 200 dead.

Intercommunal violence often flares in Plateau, which straddles the dividing line between Nigeria's mostly Moslem north and predominantly Christian south.

Plateau Governor Caleb Mutfwang imposed a 24-hour ban on movement after more attacks in Mangu over the weekend.

"Movements within the Local Government have been banned until further notice except for security personnel and persons on essential duties," his front man Gyang Bere said in a statement.

In the latest unrest, gunman raided villages in the Sabon Gari area of Mangu on Sunday, killing at least nine people in a "reprisal" attack, regional military front man Major James Oya told AFP.

Confirming the Sunday's attack, a community leader, Jerry Datim, said button men attacked his village, Sabon Gari in Mangu, burning houses and destroying many other properties.

"So far, we have recovered nine dead bodies; we are still searching because some people are still missing," he said.

Farmers blame Moslem Fulani
... a peculiarly brutal tribe of Moslem herdsmen infesting Mali, Niger, Nigeria, and probably other places that are light on law and order and heavy on tribal identity...
herders for attacks on mostly Christian villages though herdsman associations dismiss those charges and say their communities are also raided.

The State chairman of Miyyeti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN), Nuru Abdullahi, said eight Fulani settlements were attacked on Friday, leaving 15 people dead.

He blamed security forces for the raid. But army front man Oya said he was still confirming details of that attack.

Northwest and central Nigeria have long struggled with violence between nomadic cattle ranchers and settled farmers who accuse herdsmen of invading farmland with their grazing.

Those festivities have spiralled into broader criminality as communities form armed militias to raid rival villages and carry out cattle rustling, looting and mass kidnappings for ransom.

New President Bola Ahmed Tinubu says tackling insecurity is a priority as the armed forces battle jihadists in the northeast, bandit militias and intercommunal violence in the northwest and separatist agitation in the south.

Azerbaijan: SSSA detained Afghan resident who planned terrorist attack against foreign embassy
Perhaps later it will be revealed which particular jihadi group the jihadi in question chose to fail.
[TuranNews] An Afghan citizen was detained by the State Securuty Service of Azerbaijan' (SSSA) on suspicion of planning terrorist acts on the territory of the country.

On July 10, the SSSA announced the detention of a citizen of Afghanistan, Fawzan Musa Khan.

According to the report of the SSSA department of public relations, the investigation found that he, having entered into collusion with other persons in order to undermine public stability, sow panic among the population, influence the decisions of state authorities and international organizations,
...none of which he accomplished. But such was Allah’s plan for him, by definition — how mortifying!
planned terrorist acts on the territory of Azerbaijan, accompanied by explosions, fires and other similar dangerous incidents, loss of life, damage to their health, property.

The said foreigner, in order to plan a terrorist attack against an embassy of a third state, conducted observations around the territory where the diplomatic mission is located, colluded with other persons who could be involved in this activity, assist in the acquisition of weapons and explosives, and receive financial assistance.

Fawzan was caught red-handed at the scene of the crime and brought to criminal responsibility as an accused under Articles 28, 214.2.1 and 28, 214.2.3. A preventive measure in the form of arrest was chosen against him by a court decision.

At present, the State Security Service is conducting comprehensive investigative and operational legal procedural measures in order to establish the full circle of persons who planned a terrorist act.

The message does not indicate against the embassy of which country the Afghan was planning a terrorist attack. However,
you can observe a lot just by watching...
judging by the operational video distributed by the State Security Service, the foreigner conducted surveillance around the Hyatt Regency hotel complex, where, among other institutions, the Embassy of Israel is also located.
A useful tidbit.
Update from the Times of Israel, which contains an image of the 23-year old’s passport photo page, at 11:30 a.m. ET:
Azerbaijan said that Khan came from "a foreign country" in order to surveil "a third country embassy," recruit a cell, and obtain weapons and funding.

Though the statement did not identify the country from which Khan arrived in Azerbaijan, neighboring Iran

The word Iran is a cognate form of Aryan. The abbreviation IRGC is the same idea as Stürmabteilung (or SA). The term Supreme Guide is a the modern version form of either Duce or Führer or maybe both. has been using third-party nationals to plan terror attacks against Israeli and Jewish targets.

Israel is in the midst of a very public expansion of bilateral ties with Azerbaijan, a Shiite-majority country closely allied with The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire...
that has seen its partnership with the Jewish state flourish.

In March, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov opened Baku’s first-ever embassy in Israel.

President Isaac Herzog visited Azerbaijan in May, where he discussed the Iran threat and bilateral ties.

Israel is one of Azerbaijan’s leading arms suppliers. According to the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute, Israel provided 69 percent of Baku’s major arms imports in 2016-2020, accounting for 17% of Jerusalem’s arms exports over that period.

Israel stepped up its weapons shipments to Azerbaijan during the 2020 Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. Azerbaijan emerged victorious in that six-week war with Armenia, which claimed the lives of more than 6,000 soldiers and resulted in Baku regaining control over disputed territories.

It is an open secret that two of the pillars of the relationship are Azerbaijan’s location on Iran’s northern border and the fact that Israel buys over 30 percent of its oil from Baku.

Spain possibly locates missing boat carrying 200 migrants, sends help
[Shafaq News] A Spanish reconnaissance plane has found what could be a fishing vessel from Senegal
... a nation of about 14 million on the west coast of Africa bordering Mauretania to the north, Mali to the east, and a pair of Guineas to the south, one of them Bissau. It is 90 percent Mohammedan and has more than 80 political parties. Its primary purpose seems to be absorbing refugees...
with about 200 migrants colonists on board that has been missing for nearly two weeks, the maritime rescue service said on Monday.

"The plane has found a large boat with some 200 people on board, 71 miles to the south of Gran Canaria," a spokesperson for the service told Rooters, adding it was "possible" that it was the missing vessel.

A rescue ship was on its way and would take about two-and-a-half hours to reach the location, the spokesperson added.

Migrant aid group Walking Borders said on Sunday that the fishing vessel and another two boats - one carrying about 65 people and the other with between 50 and 60 on board - had been missing for about two weeks since they left Senegal to try to reach Spain.

The Spanish rescue service said that although there was only one official alert in place for the boat with 200 passengers, its plane was on the lookout for any vessels in distress.

Helena Maleno of Walking Borders said on Monday that the families of the at least 300 migrants colonists on board the three boats had not received any new information about their whereabouts.

The condition of the migrants colonists was unknown.

Maleno's organization had contacted authorities in Senegal, Mauritania, Morocco and Spain, urging them to search for the missing boats.

"There need to be more resources devoted to the search... A plane that flies for four hours isn't enough" for such an operation, she added.

All three boats left in late June from the village of Kafountine in Senegal's region of Cassamance, home to a decades-long insurgency and located some 1,700 km (1,057 miles) from Spain's Canary Islands. Weather conditions in the Atlantic were bad for such a voyage, Maleno said.

The Atlantic migration route, typically used by migrants colonists from sub-Saharan Africa, is one of the world's deadliest. At least 559 people died in 2022 in attempts to reach the Canary Islands, according to the U.N.'s International Organisation for Migration.

Data from the European Border and Coast Guard Agency Frontex shows 1,135 migrants colonists originating from Senegal had arrived in the Canaries so far this year.

Turkish soldiers killed in clashes with PKK soldiers
[Shafaq News] The Ottoman Turkish Ministry of Defense announced on Sunday evening the deaths of two soldiers in the ongoing security operations in the "Lightning Claw" region of northern Iraq's Kurdistan province.

According to a statement from the ministry, the soldiers were killed as a result of "harassing fire launched by the terrorist Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) against Ottoman Turkish troops."

The ministry further added that "the soldiers were transported to the hospital, but the efforts of the medical staff were unsuccessful in saving their lives."

The Sick Man of Europe Turkey

PKK kills two Turkish soldiers in Kurdistan Region
[Rudaw] Two Ottoman Turkish soldiers were killed during festivities with the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) in the Kurdistan Region’s Duhok province, the Ottoman Turkish Ministry of Defense announced late Sunday.

The soldiers were killed on Saturday in the "Operation Claw-Lightning" area, which encompasses the regions of Metina, Avashin, Zap, and Basyan in the Kurdistan Region’s northern Duhok province. They were identified as Hasan Tas and Furkan Gunergok.

The PKK has not commented on the incidents.

Ankara has in the past few years intensified its campaign to eliminate the presence of PKK fighters around its borders, launching several operations in the Kurdistan Region as well as Syria where it claims to target alleged proxies of the group.

In 2019, The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire...
launched Operation Claw against the PKK in Khakurk. This was followed by Operation Claw-Tiger in June 2020. The third edition of the offensive was a ground and air cross-border operation, dubbed Operation Claw-Lightning and Operation Claw-Thunderbolt, launched in April 2021. All of these operations focused on the PKK’s positions in the Kurdistan Region’s Duhok province.

Turkey sent its army back into the Kurdistan Region in April of last year, launching Operation Claw-Lock with the goal of targeting PKK positions in Metina, Zap, Avashin, and Basyan areas in northern Duhok province. The operation, according to Ankara, aims to remove the PKK from the bordering areas and cut off its access to mainland Turkey.

Israeli man lightly hurt in stabbing in Palestinian town — IDF
[IsraelTimes] An Israeli man was stabbed and lightly wounded in the West Bank Palestinian town of Dayr Qadis earlier today, the military says.

According to the Israel Defense Forces, several Israeli civilians who entered the town reported that a Palestinian man approached them and tried to stab them.

One man was independently taken to a clinic in the nearby settlement of Modi’in Ilit, where he was treated for a minor injury to his hand, medical officials say. He did not require hospitalization.

The IDF says soldiers are searching the area for the suspects.

The background of the incident is not immediately known.

Despite being discouraged by authorities, Israelis frequently enter Palestinian towns for inexpensive shopping, vehicle repairs, or even dental care.
“Mostly peaceful.”

Palestinian group attempts to fire rockets from Jenin area at nearby settlement
[IsraelTimes] Military says projectiles aimed at Shaked ’did not pose threat to residents’; incident comes a day after remains of rocket found in town bordering West Bank barrier

Paleostinians in the northern West Bank attempted to launch two homemade rockets at a nearby Israeli settlement on Monday, the latest in a series of mostly unsuccessful attempts, the military said.

A group calling itself the al-Ayyash Battalion, apparently named for a notorious Hamas, a contraction of the Arabic words for "frothing at the mouth", bombmaker killed by Israel, claimed it had launched two rockets from the Jenin area at the northern West Bank settlement of Shaked.

Video published by the group on Telegram showed a projectile mounted on a launcher. The footage did not show it being launched. al-Ayyash Battalion has claimed to have launched several rockets at settlements and towns in northern Israel in recent months, publishing footage of the attempts.

Several hours after the claim on Monday, the Israel Defense Forces said troops located two rocket launchers and two makeshift projectiles in the area.

The IDF said sappers were at the scene investigating the rockets "to examine the presence of explosives." The remains and the launchers were being taken for investigation.

"The rockets did not pose a threat to the residents" of Shaked, the IDF said.

Al-Ayyash Battalion’s rocket launching attempts have largely failed, with the rockets containing no explosives and flying distances of less than 100 meters (328 feet), according to the IDF.

Security forces found the remains of a rocket in the northern Israel town of Ram-On, which borders the West Bank security barrier, on Sunday night, indicating however that bandidos murderous Moslems in the northern West Bank possess the capability to launch rockets at further distances than initially assessed.

The exact date of that launch was unclear.

Military sources have said there was a known suspect behind the attempts, and it was not linked to any known terror group, despite the apparent affiliation with Hamas.

During a major IDF raid in the West Bank city of Jenin last week, the military said troops located and seized a makeshift rocket, among other weapons.

In May, Shin Bet chief Ronen Bar said security forces had foiled attempts by Paleostinians in the northern West Bank to manufacture rockets to be launched at Israel.

Bar said the efforts were led by a senior Paleostinian Islamic Jihad
...created after many members of the Egyptian Moslem Brotherhood decided the organization was becoming too moderate. Operations were conducted out of Egypt until 1981 when the group was exiled after the assassination of President Anwar Sadat. They worked out of Gaza until they were exiled to Lebanon in 1987, where they clove tightly to Hezbollah. In 1989 they moved to Damascus, where they remain a subsidiary of Hezbollah...

[IsraelTimes] Members of the Knesset Guard forcibly remove a number of anti-government protesters from the building, as politicians are due to vote on the "reasonableness" bill.

Video shows ushers picking up and dragging several demonstrators sitting on the floor, moving them away from the plenum, where the commotion could be heard as MKs met inside.

Knesset Speaker Amir Ohana praises the guards for preventing "a gang of law-breakers from blocking the Knesset plenum."

Outside, opponents of the judicial overhaul are marching near the Knesset.
Note the traditional Black Bloc attire and the traditional passive aggression. They’re not bothering to pretend anymore that they’re normal, patriotic Israelis overcome by disgust at Bibi’s perfidy.

Knesset Guard says Yesh Atid MKs responsible for letting protesters in building
Almost entirely unlike January 6.
[IsraelTimes] The Knesset Spokesperson’s Office issues a statement following the forcible removal of anti-overhaul protesters by parliamentary ushers saying that a police complaint had been filed against the demonstrators over allegations that they had sought to harm public order and the democratic process.

All guests in the Knesset must receive an invitation from a politician in order to enter, and the Knesset Spokesperson’s Office reveals that Yesh Atid MK Merav Cohen and Naor Shiri from the opposition were the ones who signed off on their invitations.

The statement says the pair will be brought before the Knesset’s Ethics Committee, which would decide whether to sanction them. It is unclear whether the politicians were aware of what the demonstrators were planning.

Three Arab Israeli yoots to be charged for alleged affiliation with Hamas
[IsraelTimes] Police and Shin Bet say trio from Nazareth area ’consumed content’ of Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It is currently ruled with an iron fist by Hamaswith about the living conditions you'd expect. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response...
terror group, prepared Molotov cocktails for festivities

Three Arab Israelis from the Nazareth area were to be charged on Monday for affiliation with the Gaza Strip-based Hamas, the well-beloved offspring of the Moslem Brotherhood, terror group, law enforcement officials said.

In a joint statement, the Israel Police and the Shin Bet security agency said the trio — including two minors — from Nazareth and the adjacent town of Reineh were detained several weeks ago over "their support for the Hamas organization and their intention to carry out local terrorist activities inspired by the organization."

The adult suspect was named by authorities as Mobeen Ahmed Younis, 19.

Police and the Shin Bet said Younis and the two minors "consumed Hamas content," participated in Hamas rallies while wearing flags of the terror group "and singing songs of praise to the organization," and clashed with security forces at the al-Aqsa Mosque on Jerusalem’s Temple Mount during the past holy Moslem month of Ramadan.

Law enforcement accused the three suspects of preparing Molotov cocktails to hurl at Israeli security forces should festivities break out in their hometowns.

Police also released images showing one of the suspects draped in a Hamas flag and headband and brandishing a handgun on the roof of his home.

Police and the Shin Bet said the investigation revealed a "disturbing picture" in which young Arab Israelis are "absorbing" Hamas propaganda and have easy access to firearms.

"The Hamas terror group continues to work to spread its ideology among Israeli citizens... and works to recruit them through propaganda distributed at the Temple Mount and on social networks, with the aim of advancing terror activity in Israel," the statement said.

Indictments were to be filed against the trio later on Monday, and police had requested from the Nazareth District Court to extend their remand until the end of legal proceedings.

Last week, in a rare statement, Hamas grabbed credit for a recent string of deadly attacks in Israel and the West Bank.

Left-wing activist in custody over hat showing Palestinian rock thrower killed by IDF
See more US State Department-supported anti-judicial overhaul protest reports here and here.
[IsraelTimes] Gil Hammerschlag, detained near Temple Mount, held for 6 days after refusing to agree to terms of release that include staying out of Old City of Jerusalem for a week

A left-wing activist is under arrest for wearing a hat with a picture of a Paleostinian rock thrower who was killed by the IDF several years ago during a West Bank protest.
Arrested while trying to cause an incident, thus removing the opportunity to cause an incident.
Gil Hammerschlag has been refusing to agree to the terms of a restrictive release that would require him to stay away from the Old City of Jerusalem for at least seven days. He is suspected of behavior that could disturb the peace and of offending public servants because, according to police, he called them "faceless myrmidons with tools of destruction," the Haaretz daily reported.

Hammerschlag was arrested on Tuesday last week in Jerusalem’s Old City, near the Temple Mount holy site, with police saying he was "identified wearing a hat and walking in a suspicious way," Haaretz reported on Thursday. The hat had a picture of Atef Yussef Hanaysheh, 47, from the West Bank village of Beit Dajan, who was fatally shot in the head by IDF soldiers in March 2021 during a protest against settlement expansion, after he reportedly threw rocks toward the troops.

The hat also had a slogan reading: "My sling, my blood, I sacrifice for Jerusalem."

On Sunday, the Jerusalem Magistrate’s Court extended Hammerschlag’s remand for another two days. During the hearing, he repeated his refusal to agree to the terms of a release.

The Israel Police initially sought a restrictive release for Hammerschlag under which he would stay away from the Old City for 15 days, pay bail of NIS 2,000 ($538) and find a bond guarantor for NIS 10,000 ($2,691). The Magistrate’s Court reduced the restraining order to a week, but Hammerschlag still refused to agree. The case was then taken to the Jerusalem District Court, which declined to intervene.

"The investigative material placed before me reveals a reasonable suspicion of the crimes attributed to him. His location within the Old City and near the Temple Mount, when he wears the hat as described above, apparently may violate public peace," ruled judge Michal Sharvit.

Hadash-Ta’al politician Ahmad Tibi tweeted Sunday about Hammerschlag’s detention "because of a hat he wore," while noting that "meanwhile, no one has been arrested for the burning of Huwara."

Hundreds of settlers have rampaged several times in recent months through the West Bank town of Huwara, burning property in Dire Revenge for deadly terror attacks against Israelis.

According to Haaretz, Hammerschlag’s detention came at a time of simmering tensions over the pending eviction of a Paleostinian family from a home that is owned by Jews in the Moslem Quarter of the Old City. The family has lived there for decades but Jewish nationalist activists have been pursuing a legal battle for the property, which they say belonged to Jews before the area was captured by Jordan during the War of Independence in 1948.

Armed Palestinian shot dead by IDF troops in West Bank
[IsraelTimes] Military says suspect hurled grenade, opened fire with makeshift gun at forces on road near Neve Tzuf settlement, causing no injuries

An armed Paleostinian man was rubbed out by Israeli troops in the central West Bank on Monday morning, the military said.

According to the Israel Defense Forces, troops of the Kfir Brigade’s 94th "Duchifat" Battalion identified a suspicious vehicle on Route 450, close to the Paleostinian village of Deir Nidham and the Israeli settlement of Neve Tzuf, also known as Halamish.

The IDF said that as troops approached the vehicle to question him, the Paleostinian man got out of his car, hurled a grenade and shot up troops with a makeshift "Carlo" submachine gun.

The soldiers "returned fire and neutralized him," the IDF said, adding that no Israeli soldiers were hurt in the attack.

Footage from the scene showed the Paleostinian suspect lying on the ground with the makeshift firearm, next to a white Nissan car without license plates.

The Paleostinian Authority health ministry said it was informed of the man’s death, indicating his body was held by Israeli authorities. He was named as 33-year-old Bilal Qadah.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Lebanon thwarts human smuggling of 231 Syrians
[NPASyria] On Sunday, Internal Security Forces (ISF) of Leb
...an Iranian colony situated on the eastern Mediterranean, conveniently adjacent to Israel. Formerly inhabited by hardy Phoenecian traders, its official language is now Arabic, with the usual unpleasant side effects. The Leb civil war, between 1975 and 1990, lasted a little over 145 years and produced 120,000 fatalities. The average length of a ceasefire was measured in seconds. The Lebs maintain a precarious sectarian balance among Shiites, Sunnis, and about a dozeen flavors of Christians. The Lebs have the curious habit of periodically murdering their heads of state or prime ministers...
announced thwarting a smuggling operation of about 231 Syrians, who wanted to take the sea illegally for Italian shores, and arrested six people, said to be the organizers.

The ISF said in a statement that the thwart took place on July 8 at dawn, adding that the forces arrested six organizers, including a Syrian and five Lebanese people.

"The thwarting operations were not only a merely massive arrest operations by the Information Branch of the ISF but humanitarian missions that resulted in the rescue of 231 undocumented migrants colonists who were at risk of an uncertain fate in the open sea," the statement read.

In two separate operations following careful surveillance and monitoring, the ISF Information Branch carried out simultaneous operations in the neighborhoods of Miniyeh—Danniyeh and al-Mahmara, resulting in the arrest of 111 Syrians on the Miniyeh—Danniyeh highway and 120 others on the al-Mahmara highway.

The ISF said that each would-migrant had paid between $6,000 and $7,000 to the smugglers, and they were heading to the Selaata coast in Batroun.

The northern Lebanese shores are known to be a starting point for human smuggling operations, where several were thwarted, while some managed last year to make their way to Italian, Greek or Cypriot beaches via unsafe boats.

The statement stressed that these efforts are taken as part of ongoing efforts to combat illegal migration from Lebanon to Europa

that have resulted in the death of undocumented illegal migrants colonists, most of whom were Syrians.

The Lebanese government has recently ramped up efforts to deport Syrian refugees, claiming they are burdening the government amid the deteriorating economic situation faced by the country and let alone the hatred the Lebanese people harbor for Syrians.

In 2022, Lebanon announced a plan to return 15,000 Syrian refugees to their country. They deported the first batch in the autumn of that same year and included over 100 families through three border crossings with Syria in Homs and Damascus.

Lebanon is home to roughly two million Syrians who fled from the violence of Syria’s civil war. Since the beginning of April, the Lebanese Armed Forces have forcefully deported hundreds, including some of the around 800,000 Syrians that are under UNHCR protection.

Some Syrians have been arrested or have been disappeared upon their return, according to a group of 19 human rights

and advocacy organizations.

Human Rights Watch (HRW) said, in a detailed report, that Syrian refugees in Lebanon are living in constant fear that they could be picked up and sent back to "nightmarish conditions" in Syria, regardless of their refugee status.

Government forces shell Turkish military base in Syria’s Azaz
[NPASyria] On Monday, Syrian government forces shelled a military base of the Ottoman Turkish forces in Aleppo northern countryside.

A military source said that the government forces targeted the Ottoman Turkish military base near the city of Azaz, some 45 km north of Aleppo, with seven missiles.

The shelling comes in coincidence with a military escalation and mutual shelling in the de-escalation zone in northwest Syria for a month.

Russian, Turkish forces conduct 144th patrol in Syria’s Kobani
[NPASyria] Russian Military Police (MP) conducted on Monday a joint patrol with the Ottoman Turkish forces in the eastern countryside of Kobani, northern Syria.

This is the 144th patrol between the two forces in the region since the signing of the Russian-Ottoman Turkish ceasefire agreement in northeast Syria.

In October 2019, following the so-called Ottoman Turkish military operation "Peace Spring" in areas of northeast Syria which resulted in the occupation of Tel Abyad, north of Raqqa, and Sere Kaniye (Ras al-Ain) north of Hasakah, the Ottoman Turkish president signed two ceasefire agreements, one with Russia and the other with the US.

The ceasefire agreements stipulating halt of all hostilities there and the withdrawal of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) 30 kilometers in depth away from the Ottoman Turkish border in addition to conducting joint patrols with Russia in order to monitor the implementation of the agreements.

The patrol, which consisted of eight Russian and Ottoman Turkish military vehicles accompanied by two Russian helicopters, set off from the village of Gharib, 15 km east of Kobani.

The patrol passed several villages in the eastern countryside of Kobani then returned to its starting point in Gharib.

The Ottoman Turkish military vehicles returned to The Sick Man of Europe Turkey

Detainee by SNA found dead with torture marks in Syria’s Tel Abyad
[NPASyria] The people of the village of al-Buz, south of the city of Tel Abyad, northern Syria, found on Monday a body of a young man with torture marks. He was detained by Ottoman Turkish-backed opposition factions, also known as Syrian National Army (SNA).

An eyewitness from the village told North Press that the body belonged to Mahyar al-Aweid, from the countryside of Hama, west central Syria. He was identified through identification papers that were in his pocket.

A military source from the region said al-Aweid was arrested eight months ago when he came from Raqqa in an attempt to enter SNA-held areas to immigrate from there to Europe.

Civil Police, affiliated with the SNA, recorded the perpetrator as unknown in the register, then transferred the body to Tel Abyad Hospital to be buried later since he had no relatives present in the region, according to the source.

On October 9, 2019, The Sick Man of Europe Turkey

[NPASyria] On Monday, the Special Units of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) announced that they had arrested two ISIS faceless myrmidons in the northern Syrian city of Manbij with the support of the US-led Coalition.

Supported by the US-led Coalition, the SDF said in a statement, "Our SDF special units have captured two ISIS Death Eaters in Manbij city who were involved in numerous terrorist attacks."

The statement identified the two ISIS members as Majed Muhammad al-Muhammad al-Hilal and Hussein Hassan al-Sharif, both joined ISIS in 2016.

According to the SDF, al-Hilal worked in the "fortifications battalion and later in the medical office of ISIS."

The other member, al-Sharif, worked in the krazed killer group’s Zakat (tax) office. The SDF also noted that al-Sharif fled Manbij after the Manbij Military Council, affiliated with the SDF, liberated the city from ISIS and had been operating secretly until he was captured.

Syrian Kurdish fighters kill 5 Turkish-backed opposition forces, say activists
[IsraelTimes] Violence in northern town of Afrin is the latest in a monthslong escalation between opposing groups in Syria and Iraq

Syrian Kurdish fighters carried out an attack early Monday in northern Syria, killing at least five members of The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire...
-backed Syrian opposition forces, activists said.

The attack south of the northern town of Afrin, which is held by the Turkey-backed forces, took place shortly after midnight on Sunday, according to the Britannia-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.

Meanwhile,
...back at the shattered spaceship, Fffflirgoll the Arcturan slithered stealthily toward the control room, where the humans had barricaded themselves...
Turkey’s Defense Ministry confirmed that two Ottoman Turkish soldiers were killed in an attack on Sunday by members of the outlawed Kurdistan Workers’ Party, or PKK, in northern Iraq. One of the soldiers died of his wounds in hospital.

The violence is the latest in a monthslong escalation between Turkey and Ottoman Turkish-backed groups, and Kurdish fighters in Syria and Iraq. Ankara says the main Syrian Kurdish militia is allied to the outlawed Kurdish group. PKK has led an insurgency against Turkey since 1984 that has killed tens of thousands of people.

The Observatory, an opposition war monitor, said Monday’s attack was carried out by the Afrin Liberation Forces, a Kurdish faction allied with the main Kurdish militia in Syria known as the People’s Protection Units or YPG. The group has claimed scores of attacks against Ottoman Turkish-backed Syrian fighters.

Syria-based opposition activist Taher al-Omar said the attack took place about 20 kilometers (12 miles) south of Afrin. According to al-Omar, five members of the Turkey-backed faction Failaq al-Sham were killed. The Observatory said six died, but different tolls are not uncommon in the immediate aftermath of such attacks.

Afrin has been under the control of Turkey and its allied Syrian opposition fighters since 2018, following a Turkey-backed military operation that pushed Syrian Kurdish fighters and thousands of Kurdish residents from the area.

Since then, the town and surrounding villages have been the site of attacks on Ottoman Turkish and Turkey-backed targets. Ankara considers Syrian Kurdish fighters who control a swath of Syrian territory along Turkey’s border to be terrorists, allied with Kurdish murderous Moslems within Turkey.

Also Monday in northern Syria, Kurdish fighters fired several rockets at a Ottoman Turkish army base near the town of Azaz, the Observatory and al-Omar said. There was no immediate word on casualties.

The Ottoman Turkish state-run Anadolu Agency said at least nine rockets were fired at Azaz from Kurdish positions in nearby town of Tal Rifaat. The attack caused damage, Anadolu said, but did not report any casualties.

The violence comes a day after two explosions in northern Syria killed eight people, including three members of a Syrian Kurdish-led group in the town of Manbij.

Iran sentences rapper to more than 6 years in prison over protests, supporters say
[IsraelTimes] Toomaj Salehi lambasted the regime in his music; was among thousands of Iranians who protested over the death of Mahsa Amini

Iran
...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites. Formerly a fairly civilized nation ruled by a Shah, it became a victim of Islamic revolution in 1979. The nation is today noted for spontaneously taking over other countries' embassies, maintaining whorehouses run by clergymen, involvement in international drug trafficking, and financing sock puppet militias to extend the regime's influence. The word Iran is a cognate form of Aryan. The abbreviation IRGC is the same idea as Stürmabteilung (or SA). The term Supreme Guide is a the modern version form of either Duce or Führer or maybe both. They hate Jews Zionists Jews. Their economy is based on the production of oil and vitriol...
has sentenced a popular rapper to six years and three months in prison over his participation in protests that rocked the country last year, his supporters said Monday.

A social media account run by supporters of Toomaj Salehi announced the sentence, as did Ye-One Rhie, a member of the German parliament who has campaigned on his behalf. There was no immediate word from Iranian authorities.

Salehi was among thousands of mostly young Iranians who erupted into the streets last fall after the death of Mahsa Amini, a 22-year-old woman who had been arrested by Iran’s morality police for allegedly violating the country’s strict Islamic dress code. The protests spread across the country and quickly escalated into calls for the overthrow of Iran’s holy manal rulers.

The 33-year-old rapper, who was arrested last October, had criticized Iran’s government in songs and music videos that were widely circulated online.

"Someone’s crime was dancing with her hair in the wind," he raps in a video with over 450,000 views on YouTube — an apparent reference to Amini.

In another verse, he predicts the downfall of Iran’s theocracy. "Your whole past is dark, the government that took the light out of the eyes... We go from the bottom of the pyramid and knock to the top... Forty-four years of your government, this is the year of failure."

After his arrest, state media released a video showing him blindfolded and apologizing for his words, a statement likely made under duress. Rights groups say Iran routinely tortures prisoners into making false confessions.

Following the protests, authorities launched a heavy crackdown, in which over 500 people were killed and nearly 20,000 arrested, according to Human Rights Activists in Iran, a group that closely monitored the unrest. Authorities have said many of those detained were released or given reduced sentences.

The protests largely died down earlier this year, but there are still widespread signs of discontent.

Iran has executed a total of seven people in connection with the protests, accusing them of attacking security forces. They were convicted in secretive courts where rights groups say they were denied the right to defend themselves. Salehi’s supporters had feared that he too could face the death penalty

Iranian navy seizes US-backed smuggling ship
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited
[Regnum] The navy of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) of Iran has seized a foreign smuggling vessel with US support. This was announced on July 10 by Admiral of the IRGC Ramazan Zirahi.

“A foreign ship carrying more than 1 million liters of smuggled fuel and which was detained on the border of the Persian Gulf waters belonging to Iran, operated with military support from the United States,” he said .
An interesting perspective of events.
The IRGC military examined the detained vessel and found that its crew was engaged in oil and gas smuggling from Iran.

“During the search, it turned out that the captain of the ship was negotiating with an American command post near the scene,” IRNA quoted Zirahi as saying .

In his opinion, the United States planned to send military equipment to help the smugglers, but the Iranian Navy promptly escorted them to the port.

Earlier, the IRGC Navy detained an oil tanker under the flag of the Marshall Islands in the Gulf of Oman. On April 27, US Central Command accused Iran of violating international law and endangering regional security. The Iranian side confirmed the detention and explained that the tanker crashed into an Iranian ship, which killed two crew members.

Later, the United States accused Iran of seizing an oil tanker that was sailing in the Strait of Hormuz under the flag of Panama. The press service of the Fifth Fleet said that he left Dubai and was transiting to the port of El Fujairah in the United Arab Emirates at the moment when several fast IRGC ships surrounded him and forced him to go towards Iranian territorial waters.

In turn, the United States and Great Britain have repeatedly reported the detention of tankers with allegedly smuggled weapons coming from Iran in the Gulf of Oman. So, in March 2023, it was reported about the detention of a tanker that was transporting guided anti-tank missiles to Yemen. Tehran denied this, saying that the countries that caused the destruction of Yemen by supplying weapons there cannot justify their actions by blaming others.
