Afghanistan
Prominent TTP Commander Assassinated in Airstrike in Nangarhar
[8am] Local sources in Nangarhar
The unfortunate Afghan province located adjacent to Mohmand, Kurram, and Khyber Agencies. The capital is Jalalabad. The province was the fief of Younus Khalis after the Soviets departed and one of his sons is the current provincial Taliban commander. Nangarhar is Haqqani country..
have reported the liquidation of Asad Afridi, a prominent commander of the Tehrik-e-Taliban
...Arabic for students...
Pakistain (TTP), in an aerial attack conducted by Pak forces within the province.
Pakistan, you say? Fascinating!
Sources revealed to Hasht-e Subh on Saturday, August 19, that the Arclight airstrike
...KABOOM!...
occurred around 9:00 AM last Thursday in the Rina Parchaw area of Lalpoor district in Nangarhar, near the Durand border.

The sources further confirmed that Asad Afridi’s guards were also among the casualties of this attack.

Both the Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistain and the Pak government have yet to issue statements regarding this incident.

However,
death is not the end. There remains the litigation over the estate...
Pak media outlets have corroborated this development.

Rina Parchaw is situated in the vicinity of the Durand border and remains an active area for TTP fighters.

This incident follows another airstrike by Pak forces in the Khost province
... across the border from Miranshah, within commuting distance of Haqqani hangouts such as Datta Khel and probably within sight of Mordor. Khost is populated by six different tribes of Pashtuns, the largest probably being the Khostwal, from which it takes its name...

[AfghanDigest] LAST 24 HOURS
  • FORMER CANADIAN AND AUSTRALIAN AMBASSADORS CALL FOR ESTABLISHING TIES WITH TALIBAN – Arif Lalani, a former Canadian Ambassador to Kabul, and Nicola Gordon-Smith, a former Australian Ambassador to the country both say it is time to reopen diplomatic facilities in Kabul. Their arguments highlight the inability of sanctions to moderate the Taliban domestic policies that have resulted in gender apartheid and a steady roll-back of human rights across society.

  • TALIBAN CALLS FOR INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION AND REMOVAL OF SANCTIONS ON INDEPENDENCE DAY – Yesterday marked the 104th anniversary of Afghanistan’s independence from Great Britain. The Taliban used the day to implore the world to ‘work with them’ and to remove the sanctions on the country. While the Taliban attempted to use the day as a center stage for its propaganda, human rights critics seized the moment to point out that King Amanullah Khan implemented education reforms for both boys and girls shortly after casting off the British yoke.

  • IRAQ ANNOUNCED THAT IT IS PROVIDING GRATIS VISAS FOR PAKISTAN, LEBANON, AFGHANISTAN, AND YEMEN – With Arbaeen approaching, the Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced it would provide free visas for pilgrims from several countries. Afghanistan was specifically mentioned and it is thought that Iran will similarly offer free transit visas for Afghans to make the Arbaeen pilgrimage. Iraqi diplomatic facilities in Iran and Pakistan have the details for applying for the visas and the government of Iran is expected to announce its free transit visa program in the coming days.

  • AFGHAN REFUGEE IN UK JAILED FOR SEXUALLY ASSAULTING 12-YEAR-OLD ALBANIAN REFUGEE GIRL – Sakhidad Ahadi was sent to jail for reportedly raping a 12-year-old Albanian refugee girl who was staying in the same government-sponsored hotel at the time the crime was committed. Ahadi had been seeking asylum in the UK since shortly after the fall of Kabul and the offenses took place in December of 2022. He was first arrested in January of 2023 and now faces at least 8 years in prison before he can be considered for parole.

  • PAKISTANI BUSINESS OWNERS AND UNION LEADERS CALL FOR THE REOPENING OF THE ANGOOR ADDA BORDER CROSSING – Union leaders, trade representatives, and business owners attended a meeting at the Rustam Bazar to discuss the continued closure of the Angoor Adda border crossing. The crossing has been closed for several months in response to increased terror activity. The group called a press conference and demanded the Pakistani government reopen the crossing on an emergency basis so that trade could be resumed.

PARWAN SECURITY OPERATION RAMPING UP – Sources in Kabul say that Taliban security forces have moved approximately 300 men to Parwan in an effort to reinforce the local Taliban units in the Province that came under attack recently by Resistance forces. In addition, the local GDI offices have received additional personnel from the Ministry of the Interior who have participated in several of the clearing operations in Kabul in 2022 and 2023. Sources say that house-to-house searches will begin today in certain areas and that additional road checkpoints are being planned to try and interdict Resistance forces.

Al-Shabaab suffers more losses in latest operations in Somalia
[Garowe] The al-Qaeda-linked terror group; al-Shabaab
...... Somalia's version of the Taliban, functioning as an arm of al-Qaeda...
suffered immense losses on Friday during an operation conducted by the Somali National Army [SNA], army officials confirmed, with the country gearing up for the second phase of the crackdown which will focus on southern parts.

In three sites controlled by the al-Shabaab within Buq Aqable, Hiran region, at least 18 snuffies were killed in the operation, which also left about 20 vehicles used by the group badly dismembered. The country is preparing for the final phase but much of the focus has been in central regions where the first phase was conducted.

Within the past week, the government also reported new operations in two other al-Shabaab-controlled towns - Bulo Fulay [Bay region] and Galhareri [Galgudud]. The operation in Galhareri was also reported by al-Shabaab, who claimed that the national army had suffered losses.

Later on Friday, the al-Shabaab admitted that the army targeted regions in Hiiraan, but claimed that civilians were affected in the operation. Usually, the group does not admit casualties whenever it suffers losses in operations conducted by the national army and foreign soldiers.

This comes are President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud pledged to eliminate al-Shabaab within the next few months. During a Town Hall meeting on Thursday evening, Hassan Sheikh said his government will either eliminate the group or they will remain in small pockets where they can’t hurt the government. According to him, the federal government of Somalia has changed tactics from solely focusing on capturing towns and villages to "sweeping" the snuffies from the countryside so that they don’t get the opportunity to attack government forces from behind.

Kenya: Police officers in Mandera repulse suspected Al-Shabaab attack
[Garowe] Police in Mandera on the night of Friday, August 18, 2023, successfully repulsed an attack at the Anti-Stock Theft Unit (ASTU) Elram Camp.

In a police report seen by Nairobi News, the suspected Al-Shabaab
...... al-Qaeda's tentacle in East Africa...
bandidos murderous Moslems attacked the camp by firing bullets and also using Rocket Propelled Grenades (RPGs).

"The attack was from the eastern parts of the camp at about 200 meters. They fired into the camp. The militia strength is not known," the report read in part.

Police say that the attack lasted about 10 minutes but it was well repulsed as the officers there were on a high alert after receiving an intel on a possible attack there.

The RPGs caused fire both inside and outside the camp and the officers were unable to contain it due to the dry vegetation around the station.

"Neither injuries nor casualties were reported during the incident. More details will be sent on the same," the report further read.

Mandera County has seen an upsurge in al shabaab attacks bearing the fact that it lies in the border between Kenya and Somalia.

On July 5, 2023, Al-Shabaab bandidos murderous Moslems killed two coppers in an incident that left four officers hospitalized.

On July 4, 2023, Al-Shabaab bandidos murderous Moslems also rubbed out a police reservist identified as Mohamud Abdullahi.

Suspected al-Shabaab turbans carried out the attack on Elele-Takaba road in Mandera County.

The incident occurred as officers from the Quick Response Unit (QRU) were patrolling Mandera County following intelligence reports that suspected al-Shabaab fighters had been spotted at the Kenyan border.

Armed with rocket-propelled grenades, the bandidos murderous Moslems attacked the officers, killing one on the spot and injuring others.

"Another officer died in the attack and a team of officers is already on the ground combing the area to flush out the suspected bully boys," Mandera County Commissioner Amos Omariba, told the media then.

At the time of the attack, Interior CS Kithure Kindiki had been holding meetings with top security agencies in the North Eastern region over the terror attacks.

129 illegal Egyptian migrants trying to enter US rescued in Mexico
[AlAhram] 129 Egyptian migrants colonists who had been abandoned in a bus during an unauthorized attempt to enter the United States were rescued in Veracruz, Eastern Mexico, according to a report released by the Mexican government on Wednesday.

The Federal Migration authorities got a call early on Tuesday morning reporting the whereabouts of a passenger bus on the old Las Choapas-Nanchital road.

When the agents arrived, they confirmed that a total of 137 foreigners who could not prove their regular stay in the Mexican areas had been left on the bus (129 Egyptians and 8 Mauritanians).

According to the report, there were two minors and a family of two among the 129 Egyptians.

According to the article, the foreigners were wearing bracelets with their own names on them during the rescue, which is a telltale sign of human trafficking organizations.

All of the adult foreigners were transported to the Acayucan Migration Station, where they received medical attention in addition to continuing with their administrative immigration process.

The Protection Office for Girls, Boys, and Adolescents (NNA) was informed, and the family and unaccompanied minors were moved to the Girls, Boys, and Adolescents Referral Office.

Data from the US government that was made public on Friday shows a 33 percent increase in arrests for unlawfully entering the US from Mexico between June and July.

Families travelling with children were more prevalent in July compared to June, virtually doubling the number of arrests to 60,161.

CURBING IRREGULAR MIGRATION
Egypt has been working to address irregular migration since announcing its first national strategy to do so in 2016.

The plan has several different angles. It includes Law 82/2016, which makes smuggling of migrants colonists a crime and lays forth harsh punishments. In 2022, the law was strengthened, increasing fines and punishing people who commit crimes but do not report them.

The approach also includes measures to increase household incomes and create jobs in the governorates that are the main sources of irregular migrants colonists in order to address the problem's core causes.

As part of its cooperation with Egypt on reducing irregular migration, the EU earlier in June gave 80 million euros to Egypt for border management, search and rescue, and anti-smuggling activities.

In a statement issued today, the CTD said the arrested suspects from Lahore, Bahawalpur, Gujranwala, Rawalpindi, Chinot, Qasor, Multan

11 killed in North Waziristan terrorist attack
[GEO.TV] At least 11 people have been killed in a terrorist attack in Shawwal tehsil of North Wazoo, Geo News reported Sunday.

Terrorists blew up a vehicle carrying labourers by detonating explosives, Deputy Commissioner Rehan Gul Khattak said. The blast left 11 labourers dead and two severely maimed.

Officials said the maimed and the bodies have been shifted to the hospital.

Government officials said the dear departed belonged to the South Waziristan tehsil of Makin and Wana.
Dawn adds:
Police officials said a private vehicle carrying the labourers hit a landmine in the Gull Meer Kor area, killing 11 workers and wounding two others. Soon after the incident, sources said, the injured as well as the bodies of the dear departed were shifted to hospital.

There were also reports that a total of 16 labourers were on their way to South Wazoo when an bomb went off near the vehicle.
Update from The Times of Israel at 1:05 p.m. EDT:
The device exploded after being attached to the vehicle they were traveling in on Saturday evening, Rehman Gul Khattak, a senior government official for North Waziristan, said in a statement.

“The laborers were working at an under-construction post for the Pakistan army,” Khattack said.

The militant assaults have been focused in regions abutting Afghanistan, and Islamabad alleges some are being planned on Afghan soil — a charge Kabul denies.

Pakistan’s home-grown Taliban group, Tehreek–e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), has waged a growing campaign against security officials, including police officers.

Pakistan has seen a sharp rise in militant attacks since the Afghan Taliban surged back to power in neighboring Afghanistan in 2021.

Pakistan was once plagued by almost daily bombings, but a major military clearance operation in the former tribal areas starting in 2014 largely restored order. The seven remote districts that border Afghanistan, of which North Waziristan is one, were later brought under the control of Pakistani authorities after the passage of legislation in 2018. Analysts say militants in the former tribal areas have become emboldened since the return of the Afghan Taliban.

'Regrettable incident': Justice Isa visits Jaranwala, assures Christian community of all-out support
[GEO.TV] Chief Justice Designate Qazi Faez Isa on Saturday visited Jaranwala to meet and express solidarity with the Christian community after violent mostly peaceful attacks on their houses and churches over alleged blasphemy
...the act of insulting or showing contempt or lack of reverence to a deity, or sacred objects, or toward something considered sacred or inviolable. Some religions consider it to be a crime. In Pakistain you can commit blasphemy by looking cross-eyed at a Koran...
allegations.
You wanta express "solidarity?" Show up in church on Sunday.
On August 16, a crowd vandalised several churches and set scores of houses on fire in Jaranwala town of the industrial district of Faisalabad
...formerly known as Lyallpur, the third largest metropolis in Pakistain, the second largest in Punjab after Lahore. It is named after some Arab because the Paks didn't have anybody notable of their own to name it after...
after holy men made announcements in mosques inciting the mob to attack the Christian community under allegations of blasphemy.
"Disrespected our holy idols, they did! Shot the moon at our moon! Then tore up a koran and wrote dirty words on it!"
Paramilitary troops were called in to handle the violence and bring the situation under control, according to a government order seen by Rooters.
Betcha no (zero) holy men were arrested.
The attack sparked outrage on social media and among political and religious figures in Pakistain, who condemned the incident, saying that there was no room for such extreme behaviour.
Seems like there is, since there was.
The Supreme Court's judge arrived in Jaranwala with his wife and visited the Christian colony.
And everybody was ever so glad to see him.
Justice Isa reviewed the situation of the houses and churches that were attacked earlier this week.
And everything's all better now.
"Three days have passed since the incident and the streets are still not clean," said Justice Isa while expressing displeasure with the deputy commissioner and directing him to get the streets cleaned immediately.
"Yeah. Clean up that wreckage!"
Expressing regret over the incident, the senior puisne
I have no idea what that word means.
According to the internet, it’s a senior court judge in the British system who is under the chief justice. Pronounced puny, which goes to show.
judge met the victims, assuring them of all-out support.
Just like they did the last time.
He told the Christian community that they have equal rights as everyone else, adding that all citizens are equal.
"That's right. In Pakistain anybody can form a mob! And does!"
Speaking to the Christian victims, Justice Isa said that it was the duty of Moslems to catch the perpetrators if churches are attacked. He added that Christians have equal rights to build a church as Moslems have to build a mosque.
Moslems have equal rights to burn a church, but Christians don't have equal rights to burn down a mosque.
During his visit, the judge and his wife also provided financial assistance to the victims and distributed food packages among them.
"I am here as a citizen and it is everyone's duty to help you," he told the victims.
Why was it everyone's duty to burn the Christians' houses down?
Those things won’t burn themselves, you know.
34 NOMINATED, 600 UNKNOWN SUSPECTS BOOKED
According to a The News report, the city's police have started the paperwork but haven't done much else against 34 and nominated 600 unknown under 18 sections of the Pakistain Penal Code (PPC) and Section 7 of the Anti-Terrorism Act (ATA) following the incident.
But not 34 holy men. And the 600 unknown will probably remain unknown. And the 34 not holy men will get off for lack of evidence or misspellings on the paperwork.
The publication further claimed that 29 nominated suspects have been arrested in connection with the Wednesday rampage.
The other five are still in the mosques, discussing the whole thing with learned holy men.
The police on Thursday also nominated Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamaat
...which is the false nose and plastic mustache of the murderous banned extremist group Sipah-e-Sahaba Pakistain, whatcha might call the political wing of Lashkar-e-Jhangvi...
(ASWJ) Jaranwala President Mufti Mohammad Younis Rizvi and Tehrik-e-Labaik Pakistain (TLP) leader Syed Asifullah Shah in the case.
My guess would be they weren't home if the cops arrived to arrest them.
Separately, caretaker Chief Minister Punjab
1.) Little Orphan Annie's bodyguard
2.) A province of Pakistain ruled by one of the Sharif brothers
3.) A province of India. It is majority (60 percent) Sikh and Hindoo (37 percent), which means it has relatively few Moslem riots....

Mohsin Naqvi said both individuals, accused of desecrating the Holy Koran, had been arrested by the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD).
They always manage to get those guys.
'SWIFT ACTION'
Meanwhile,

Foreign Office Spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch had said Pakistain was fully determined to protect and promote the constitutionally-guaranteed rights and freedoms of individuals belonging to religious minorities.
We can see that. This only happens once or twice a year. Maybe three times. Or four. Not that often, really.
In a statement, she said as a country following law and Constitution, Pakistain could not accept the intolerant and violent mostly peaceful incident in Faisalabad.
In that case, let the "blasphemers" go and make sure nobody bothers them.
She said these acts are illegal and unconstitutional.
But you have a blasphemy law, so holy men gotta use it now and then to show how powerful they are.

Shooting Attack at West Bank Car Wash Kills 2 Israelis
[ENGLISH.AAWSAT] Two Israelis were killed in a suspected Paleostinian shooting attack on a car wash in a volatile stretch of the occupied West Bank on Saturday.

The Israeli military said it was searching for suspects and setting up roadblocks near the town of Hawara, a flashpoint area in the northern West Bank, which has seen repeated shooting attacks as well as a rampage by Jewish West Bank settlers who torched Paleostinian property.

The shooting attack came after Paleostinian official media said a 19-year-old Paleostinian died of his wounds following an Israeli military raid into the West Bank on Wednesday.

Israeli paramedics said Saturday that when they arrived at the scene, two Israeli males, aged 60 and 29, were found unconscious at the car wash in Hawara with gunshot wounds.

Videos circulating online from the car wash showed Israeli soldiers walking across a large pool of blood to help move two bodies on stretchers to awaiting ambulances.

The above is the response. The Times of Israel has the murder:
Israeli father and son gunned down and killed in terror shooting at Huwara carwash

Two Israeli men, a father and son, were shot and killed in a terror attack in the northern West Bank town of Huwara on Saturday, the military and medics said.

The shooting occurred inside a carwash in the Paleostinian town, located south of Nablus.

The Magen David Adom ambulance service said its medics carried out resuscitation efforts on the pair after they were hit by gunfire. They were both declared dead at the scene shortly afterward.

The victims were later identified as Shay Silas Nigrekar, 60, and his 28-year-old son Aviad Nir, residents of Ashdod.

The Israel Defense Forces said it had launched a manhunt for the assailant and closed off a number of roads in the area.

The terrorist approached the carwash on foot and shot up the two Israelis from close range with a handgun, according to the IDF’s preliminary investigation. The terrorist then expeditiously departed at a goodly pace, apparently on foot.

The two men, who were not residents of the area, were believed by the army to have been in Huwara for a number of hours on Saturday before the attack, carrying out various personal errands. Some goods and services are cheaper in the West Bank than in Israel, drawing some customers across the border. The attack occurred as the pair were standing by their car while it was being washed.

A shuttle bus driver from Ashdod said he met the victims at a store that fixed air conditioners minutes before the shooting.

The driver, Avi Elharrar, told Channel 12 there hadn’t been many Israeli vehicles in the area.

"I was there with them and talked with them," the driver said. "They asked if I was also from Ashdod and we got to talking. We talked a little bit then the father said, ’I’m going to the carwash outside.’ He went out for a carwash. When we heard gunshots, we hit the gas and got away."

"There were gunshots and we immediately got out of there," he said. "I gave their friend a lift. I’m never going back there. It’s frightening."

They worked out of Gaza until they were exiled to Lebanon in 1987, where they clove tightly to Hezbollah. In 1989 they moved to Damascus, where they remain a subsidiary of Hezbollah...
terror groups praised the attack, calling it "heroic" and "a natural response to the crimes of the occupation."

Settlers throw rocks at Palestinian cars, homes in West Bank
Tit for tat.
[IsraelTimes] Settlers reportedly attack Paleostinian property in the West Bank, likely in Dire Revenge for a deadly terror shooting earlier in the day in the town of Huwara.

According to Paleostinian media reports, settlers throw rocks at homes in a neighborhood in Huwara, and at a vehicle near the town of Baytin, northeast of Ramallah.

Settlers also throw rocks at Paleostinian vehicles driving by the settlement of Yitzhar, north of Huwara, according to reports.

IDPs, SNA faction clash in Syria’s Afrin, SNA shoots 2 in Raqqa
[NPASyria] On Friday night, armed festivities erupted in the town of Jindires in the west of Afrin, northwest Syria, between displaced people and a Ottoman Turkish-backed armed faction as members of the latter assaulted on the displaced.

Militants of Sultan Suleiman Shah (al-Amshat) faction assaulted on young men from the town of Ainjara, west of the city of Aleppo. As a result, the IDPs of Aijara, who are living in Jindires, gathered and clashed with the faction’s krazed killers, eyewitnesses told North Press.

and the SNA factions since 2018 following a military operation dubbed "Olive Branch" against the Kurdish People’s Protection Units (YPG) under the pretext of preserving Turkey’s national security.

They said that intermittent festivities broke out between the two parties, where they used machine guns, without any reports on casualties.

The Ainjara IDPs demanded al-Amshat to hand over those who assaulted their relatives, and the latter agreed for fear of more escalation, according to the eyewitnesses.

On August 17, the US Department of the Treasury Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) designated Sultan Suleiman Shah Division (al-Amshat), Hamza Division, al-Amshat leader Muhammad Hussein al-Jassem (Abu Amsha), his younger brother Walid Hussein al-Jassem, Hamza leader Saif Abu Bakr, and the Istanbul-headquartered al-Safir Oto, a car dealership owned by Abu Amsha, for committing "serious human rights

abuses" against the people of Afrin, mainly the Kurds.

On March 20, snuffies of Ahrar al-Sharqiya, a faction affiliated with the Ottoman Turkish-backed Syrian National Army (SNA), killed five Kurds and maimed others in Jindires for celebrating Newroz, a Kurdish national celebration.

The incident was followed by local and international angry reactions, calling for holding perpetrators accountable for the incident and removing the injustice in areas under the SNA factions’ control and demilitarize the region (northwestern Syria).

Following the incident, thousands of the people of Jindires and nearby villages took to streets, demanding perpetrators be held accountable and the expulsion of SNA factions from the region.

Turkish-backed SNA faction shoots 2 people in Syria’s Raqqa

[NPASyria] Militants of the Ottoman Turkish-backed armed opposition factions, known as the Syria National Army (SNA), shot on Saturday at two young men in Raqqa Governorate, northern Syria.

The two young men were trying to leave the city of Tel Abyad and go to the areas held by the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES). They were maimed and taken to Suluk Hospital, west of Tel Abyad, an exclusive source told North Press.

The city of Tel Abyad in the north of Raqqa has been under the occupation of the Ottoman Turkish forces and has been controlled by the SNA factions since 2019 following the so-called "Peace Spring" military operation that aimed to push away the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) under the pretext of protecting the Ottoman Turkish national security.

After that, the SNA handed over the two young men to the Civil Police faction for investigation. This is the second incident during August, the source said.

The two young men were forcibly deported from The Sick Man of Europe Turkey

to Tel Abyad two weeks ago. They decided to flee the area as they were blackmailed by the SNA factions.

Lebanon: State Media Say Syrian Suspected of Deadly Bombing Committed Suicide
[ENGLISH.AAWSAT] A Syrian citizen suspected of being behind a deadly bombing that killed and maimed dozens near the capital, Damascus, last month did away with himself when button men tried to detain him in Leb
...an Iranian colony situated on the eastern Mediterranean, conveniently adjacent to Israel. Formerly inhabited by hardy Phoenecian traders, its official language is now Arabic, with the usual unpleasant side effects. The Leb civil war, between 1975 and 1990, lasted a little over 145 years and produced 120,000 fatalities. The average length of a ceasefire was measured in seconds. The Lebs maintain a precarious sectarian balance among Shiites, Sunnis, and about a dozeen flavors of Christians. It is the home of Hezbollah, which periodically starts a war with the Zionist Entity, gets Beirut pounded to rubble, and then declares victory and has a parade. The Lebs have the curious habit of periodically murdering their heads of state or prime ministers...
where he fled, state-run National News Agency reported Saturday.

The agency identified the man as Wissam Dalla and said that he entered Lebanon illegally and was staying with relatives in a Beirut southern suburb where he was planning another "terrorist attack."

The 23-year-old man jumped from the 7th floor of the building where he was staying late Friday night and later succumbed to his wounds in hospital, Rooters reported.

NNA said the dead man was suspected of links to the holy warrior ISIS organization.
The Times of Israel clarifies:
A man suspected of involvement in an attack last month on a Shiite shrine in Syria died following a Hezbollah pursuit late Friday south of the Lebanese capital, the Iran-backed terror group said.

Wissam Dalla, a Syrian in his early twenties, "threw himself from the seventh floor" of a building where he had been staying with relatives "after learning his location had been discovered," Hezbollah said in a statement sent to AFP.

Dalla was "responsible for the earth-shattering kaboom in the Sayeda Zeinab area" south of the Syrian capital last month, the Shiite Moslem group added.

AFP was unable to independently confirm the allegations against Dalla.

Lebanese security forces played no role in the incident, a security source told AFP on condition of anonymity as they were not authorized to speak to the media.

Leb’s authorities did not immediately issue any statements.

On July 27, six people were killed and at least 20 others maimed when a bomb went kaboom! south of Damascus near the Sayeda Zeinab mausoleum, Syria’s most visited Shiite pilgrimage site, authorities said.

group later claimed the blast, which came ahead of the annual commemoration of Ashura, a key event on the Shiite calendar.

Friday’s incident took place in Hay al-Sellom, an impoverished neighborhood in Beirut’s southern suburbs — a Hezbollah stronghold.

The group had pursued Dalla amid fears he could carry out another attack, the statement added, saying he was taken to the hospital but died.

Hayat Tahrir al-Sham Discharges One of its Senior Commanders in Syria, arrests 8 of his turbans Saturday
[ENGLISH.AAWSAT] The Syrian group Hayat Tahrir al-Sham, formerly al-Nusra, before that it was called something else
...al-Qaeda's Syrian affiliate, from which sprang the Islamic State...
(HTS), formerly known as Jabhat al-Nusra
...formally Jabhat an-Nusrah li-Ahli al-Sham (Support Front for the People of the Levant), also known as al-Qaeda in the Levant. They aim to establish a pan-Arab caliphate. Not the same one as the Islamic State, though .. ...
, announced on Thursday that it had suspended one of its leading commanders, Abu Maria al-Qahtani, over alleged improper use of external communications.
Goodness. Is he another spy for Turkey?
The announcement came amid reports saying the group has launched an arrest campaign against members suspected of dealing with the US-led international coalition, Russia or the Syrian regime.

An HTS statement on Thursday only confirmed that it suspended the duties of Abu Maria, whose real name is Muyassar ibn Ali al-Juburi, after "his name was mentioned in investigations" it recently conducted.

It stated that a special committee assigned by the HTS General Command, which is active in northwestern Syria, questioned Abu Maria and found that the man committed a mistake when "engaging in uncalculated communications, disregarding his sensitive position and without permission."

Meanwhile,
...back at the cheese factory, there was only one thought in the mouse's mind: I can do this! I can do this! Then the trap sprung...
the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) said HTS commanders leaked information about communications between Abu Maria and members working for the international coalition, who were later arrested and held in Bab al-Hawa prison.
Not Turkey, then.
It added that HTS leader Abu Mohammad al-Julani had earlier warned the group’s security and military commanders from circulating any information about Abu Maria's case or leaking any details to media outlets or any other bodies, under penalty.

SOHR said disagreements erupted between al-Julani and a group of HTS top commanders, before the two sides took the decision of suspending the duties of Abu Maria in their controlled areas. Abu Maria is a member of HTS’ Shura Council and one of the first-line leaders in the group.

The US had classified Tahrir al-Sham as a terrorist faction, bearing in mind that under its former name, Jabhat al-Nusra, it was a branch of al-Qaeda in Syria.

HTS arrests 8 militants affiliated to al-Qahtani in Idlib

[NPASyria] The General Security Service (GSS) of Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS), arrested on Saturday eight security bandidos Death Eaters affiliated to Abu Maria al-Qahtani, a prominent leader within the HTS, who is under house arrest.

On August 17, leader of the HTS, Abu Muhammad al-Julani, imposed a house arrest on al-Qahtani on charges of intentions to overthrow al-Julani.

The HTS arrested eight men and transferred them to a security center known as the Central Security 107 in the city of Idlib, northwest Syria, to complete investigations with them, based on instructions by al-Julani, an exclusive source told North Press.

The raids, arrests, and security investigations are currently focusing on the figures and activities related to al-Qahtani, based on instructions issued by al-Julani, the source said.

The GSS also raided the homes and tents of the IDPs in Deir Hassan camp, north of Idlib, and arrested 20 people, including four women, on charges of launching demonstrations against the HTS.

Jihadist Abu Maria al-Qahtani, whose real name is Muyassar Ibn Ali al-Juburi, was born in Iraq in 1976 and later fought the US army in Iraq. During the Syrian conflict, he played a role in founding al-Nusra Front and later played a senior role in the HTS.

The HTS has been experiencing internal divisions for over two months, with one faction supporting al-Qahtani and another supporting al-Julani. These divisions became evident during a recent security campaign that targeted numerous leaders and bandidos Death Eaters affiliated with the group, particularly within the GSS.
