[NYPOST] A homeless shelter in Austin, Texas, was shown on a whistleblower-filmed video to be littered with guns, drugs and drug paraphernalia — prompting officials in the Democrat-run city to scramble to address the facility’s deplorable conditions.
Former city employee Andrea Gipson recorded several videos inside the Northbridge homeless center throughout 2023 before she was placed on administrative leave on July 31 after complaining about the shelter’s conditions.
"Drug use, prostitution. There are assaults happening. There are folks being drugged and robbed right on site," Gipson told KVUE.
Her revealing videos showed the shelter in disrepair, with trashed rooms, guns on windowsills, collections of used needles, drug paraphernalia, machetes and knives strewn about.
In addition, shelter residents have been accused of cooking drugs in their rooms, getting high, engaging in prostitution and overdosing inside the facility, according to the Austin American-Statesman.
The Austin-based shelter has become overrun by homelessness and drug crises, causing major mayhem for locals.
City council member Mackenzie Kelly — to whom Gipson sent the evidence — sent an email to Interim City Manager Jesús Garza calling for an investigation into the Northbridge shelter, writing: "It has come to my attention that there have been several deaths within the facility, reportedly linked to drug overdoses.
"Additionally, I have been informed that drugs are being sold and consumed by clients inside the building, along with reports of prostitution taking place on the premises. Disturbingly, there have been allegations of clients assaulting each other, and even the presence of weapons such as machetes, knives, and hammers. I have a photo of a gun that was found in a clients’ room there, as well as drugs that were on [the] premises. Moreover, I’ve heard concerns that methamphetamine may be produced within the facility by clients."
Kelly called the shelter’s alleged issues "deeply troubling."

However, a poor excuse is better than no excuse at all... 29-year-old Major Amir and 27-year-old Sepoy Muhammad Arif were martyred during the heavy exchange of fire.
The army’s media affairs wing said that the sanitisation of the area is being carried out to eliminate the snuffies present in the area.
"Security forces of Pakistain are determined to eliminate the menace of terrorism and such sacrifices of our soldiers further strengthen our resolve," the ISPR said.
TIRAH EXCHANGE OF FIRE
The report of Major Aziz and Sepoy Arif’s martyrdom came minutes after the ISPR had shared that a soldier was martyred while a terrorist was killed during an exchange of fire in the Khyber district.
The ISPR said that on the night between August 31 and September 1, a fire exchange took place between the army troops and the snuffies in the general area of Tirah in Khyber District.
The troops "effectively" engaged at the terrorists’ location, resulting in the killing of one terrorist, the ISPR said.
"The killed terrorist remained actively involved in numerous terrorist activities against security forces and killing of innocent civilians."
During the intense exchange of fire, Havildar Muntazir Shah, 36, having fought gallantly, embraced martyrdom.
NATION CANNOT BE "COERCED" BY TERRORISTS: GEN MUNIR
Earlier today, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Asim Munir vowed that the nation cannot be "coerced" by "cowardly tactics of the terrorists" who hold the "misbelief that they can challenge the iron resolve of the soldiers and writ of the state".
As per the military’s media wing, the army chief passed the remarks while visiting Bannu in KP where, a day earlier, nine soldiers were martyred when a jacket wallahwent kaboom! himself near a military convoy in the Jani Khel area.
"The army, law enforcement agencies and the nation can never be coerced by the cowardly tactics of the terrorists, who have a misbelief that they can challenge the iron resolve of the soldiers and writ of the state," Gen Munir said while interacting with officers and troops deployed in the area.
The COAS further said that the nation has "fought for long and will continue to fight the menace of terrorism till the end".
"The nation pays rich tribute to those who have laid their lives and their sacrifices will forever be honoured," he added.
