[8am] Local sources in the city of Mazar-e-Sharif, the capital of Balkh Province, are reporting a kaboom that took place in the region.
According to these sources, the earth-shattering kaboom took place at approximately 8:00 PM on Sunday, September 24th, in the vicinity of the Balkh Province prison located in the first district of Mazar-e-Sharif.
Details regarding the target and any casualties resulting from this incident remain unclear at this time.

Waziri further added that Taliban investigative units have already arrived at the scene, and a thorough investigation is currently underway.
The most recent explosion in Balkh Province occurred on September 20th when journalists had gathered at the Tebian Cultural and Social Center.

The National Resistance® Council for the Salvation of Afghanistan issued a statement on Saturday night, September 23, denouncing this act by the Taliban as a "systematic massacre" of Shia and Hazara people.
The statement by this council reads: "In the recent incident, two individuals named Haji Hassan and Ali Khan, who were father and son, were brutally martyred and beheaded in the Tangi Mami area of Joye- Naw region in Khas Uruzgan district of the province. Prior to that, on September 12, a person named Sayed Amir Alawi suspiciously lost his life in the Joye- Naw region."
According to this statement, armed local individuals, with Taliban support, have set farms, and houses on fire, cut down trees, and looted the belongings of the people in this region.
The National Resistance® Council for the Salvation of Afghanistan continues to remind that Taliban members are also engaged in suppressing residents in Panjshir province, and the Andarab districts of Baghlan province.
This council calls for investigations into the committed crimes and immediate actions to prevent similar events in Afghanistan by international bodies, especially the United Nations ...an organization which on balance has done more bad than good, with the good not done well and the bad done thoroughly... This comes as two days ago, Muhammad Mohaqiq, the leader of the People’s Islamic Unity Party of Afghanistan, claimed that Talibs had killed a father and son in the province of Uruzgan.

FORMER AFGHAN LEADERS HOLD VIRTUAL MEETING ON SATURDAY – Members of the National Resistance Council for the Salvation of Afghanistan (NRCS) hosted an online meeting that included many senior leaders of the previous regime. The event was timed to mark the anniversary of the assassination of President Burhanuddin Rabbani. Several topics were discussed during the meeting including the gender bans put in place by the Taliban and the installation of non-ethnically aligned leadership in Tajik, Hazara, Uzbek, and other enclaves. It was not clear if a plan of action was worked on during the consultation.
ASIAN GAMES OPEN IN CHINA, AFGHAN WOMEN ATHLETES ARE SET TO COMPETE – Apparently, Chinese officials will allow 17 Afghan women athletes to compete in the games that began yesterday. Sources in Kabul had said Taliban officials had objected to the women’s participation and requested they be disqualified, but the organizers in China have signaled they will be allowed to compete. The official news outlet for the Taliban reported on the opening of the games but did not mention the female athletes. It is believed that over 100 male Afghan athletes are in Hangzhou, representing the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan. Human rights groups are concerned that the families of the women athletes may face repercussions from the Taliban regime and that they would be closely monitoring their health and well-being.
TALIBAN CONFIRMS THAT A PLAN TO DEAL WITH THE TTP HAS BEEN WORKED OUT WITH PAKISTAN – Zabihullah Mujahid, chief spokesman for the regime gave remarks about the new agreement with Pakistan that were broadcast on television Sunday. He was clear to enunciate that Afghanistan will only focus on its side of the border and his remarks did not contain specifics about what the Taliban would do to keep TTP/ISIS militants from using Afghanistan as a base of operations against Pakistan. The Taliban are having to walk a tightrope over the issue of the TTP and many sources inside of Afghanistan say that trust between the two groups has steadily eroded throughout late 2022 and 2023. While the TTP does not maintain enough forces inside of Afghanistan to directly challenge Kabul, they could easily destabilize the security situation should they decide to take umbrage over the new ties with Islamabad.

Baghlan: A night attack was reportedly carried out on a Taliban-fortified position in the Deh Salah district at around midnight. The ALF strike tram opened fire in the position, claiming to have killed 2 Taliban and wounded 3 more. The base is viewed by Resistance forces as a key target, facilitating communications for the Taliban in the area.
The Somali government said an operation in the central city of Elbur targeted al-Shabaab ...... the personification of Somali state failure... leaders in a meeting, days after the SNA vacated the area.
The suspected US Arclight airstrike ...KABOOM!... killed several leaders, including the head of finance of the al-Shabaab group in the Galgaduud region, whose name was identified as Sahal.
The commander of the 26th Brigade of the Danab force, General Ismail Abdimalik, confirmed the operation to the state media, saying the army would continue such raids.
US and local community fighters are involved in the ongoing military operation in Somalia, which saw the liberation of dozens of villages from al-Shabaab, the al-Qaeda-linked group.

[Garowe] Emergency workers in central Somalia dug through rubble to recover more bodies Sunday after a truck bombing killed over a dozen people and brought buildings crashing down.
A jacket wallah drove the vehicle which was loaded with explosives towards a security checkpoint in the town of Beledweyne on Saturday, triggering a kaboom that left scores trapped under bricks and concrete.
Police told AFP on Sunday that the toll had climbed past the 13 deaths reported earlier but could not provide an exact figure.
"The search and clearing operation is going on at the site of the earth-shattering kaboom and dead bodies were recovered this morning under the debris of some buildings," said Sayid Ali, deputy commander of the Beledweyne cop shoppe.
"There are concerns the corpse count may increase further," he said, adding that the bomber had targeted a busy neighbourhood that housed businesses and residential buildings.
There was no immediate claim of responsibility for Saturday’s bombing, which came after Somalia’s beleaguered government admitted to suffering "several significant setbacks" in its fight against the al-Qaeda-linked murderous Moslems.
Ahmed Yare Adan, a local police officer, told AFP on Saturday that the attack had killed 13 people and maimed 45.

Israeli security forces said Sunday they had arrested eight Paleostinian students suspected of planning a terror attack in the immediate future.

Sunday saw reports of three shootings that caused no injuries: gunfire toward the settlement of Hinanit in the northern West Bank, with bullet holes found in a window; and gunfire toward two military positions in the Tulkarem area.
Overnight two Paleostinians were killed and an Israeli soldier was moderately hurt during exchanges of fire near Tulkarem, Paleostinians and the military said.
The Israel Defense Forces said it operated against terror infrastructure in the city’s Nur Shams refugee camp, where it destroyed a command center and dozens of bombs.
Throughout the activity, button men exchanged fire with IDF troops and detonated bombs against them. The army said it fired upon assailants and hit a number of them.
"Two Paleostinians were killed by live Israeli bullets to the head," the Paleostinian health ministry said. It identified the two as Osaid Abu Ali, 22, and Abd al-Rahman Abu Daghash, 32.
An Israeli soldier was moderately hurt by shrapnel. He was taken to a hospital for treatment.
The raid caused heavy damage to the camp’s main road, severing water pipes and flooding parts of the street. The ground floor of the targeted building was heavily damaged, while part of the exterior wall of the second floor collapsed.
The army said it had used engineering forces to uncover bombs that had been planted under the pavement.
Violence has surged across the region over the past year and a half, with a rise in Paleostinian shooting attacks against Israeli civilians and troops in the West Bank, near-nightly arrest raids by the military, and an uptick in Dire Revenge attacks by krazed killer Jewish settlers against Paleostinians.
Paleostinian attacks in Israel and the West Bank since the beginning of the year have left 27 civilians and three soldiers dead, and several others seriously maimed.
According to a tally by The Times of Israel, 189 West Bank and East Jerusalem Paleostinians have been killed during the same period — the majority during festivities with security forces or while carrying out attacks, but some were uninvolved civilians and others were killed under unclear circumstances, including by armed Israeli settlers.

The groups "stressed the importance of escalating the comprehensive resistance, especially the armed resistance, in the face of the Israeli occupation, and agreed to strengthen all forms of coordination between the three organizations on all issues."
They also expressed their pride in ongoing West Bank attacks on civilians and soldiers, calling them "bold, heroic operations that confuse the occupation soldiers and settlers and exhaust them."
Paleostinians have been holding near-daily riots on the Gaza border in recent weeks. During the riots, Paleostinians have been detonating bombs, setting tires on fire, trying to breach the security barrier and opening fire at troops in a handful of cases.
[Rudaw] At least two non-combatants were killed on Saturday when an alleged Syrian regime rocket barrage struck a displacement camp in the northwestern rebel-held Idlib province, a rescue group reported.
"Two non-combatants were killed (an elderly man and a woman) and two others were maimed (a child at death's door and a man) by regime forces rocket strikes that targeted a camp in a residential area on the outskirts of Sarmin in the eastern countryside of Idlib," the White Helmets rescue group said on X, formerly known as Twitter.
"The bombing also led to a fire in the camp," the group said, adding that they had put out the fire, treated the injured, and removed the bodies of the dead.
The area is among a stretch of frontline between Syrian government forces and the jihadist group Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham, formerly al-Nusra, before that it was called something else ...al-Qaeda's Syrian affiliate, from which sprang the Islamic State... (HTS), the former Syrian branch of al-Qaeda.
HTS is the prominent force among dozens of rebel factions operating in the area and has been internationally recognized as a terrorist organization.
