Wad Madani's fall to RSF without fight raises questions
[SUDANTRIBUNE] A wave of unrest swept across Sudan
...a Moslem country located in the Horn of Africa. It is noted for its affinity for rule by ex- or current generals, its holy men, and for the oppression of the native Afro population by its Arab conquerors. South Sudan, populated mostly by the natives, split off from Sudan proper, which left North and South Darfur to be oppressed by the guys with turbans...
on Monday as the army abruptly withdrew from Wad Madani, the capital of al-Jazira State, without engaging in any major festivities against the invading militia forces.

This sudden retreat, marked by the absence of any resistance from the Sudanese military, has left many citizens deeply unsettled and questioning the government’s ability to protect them.

For four days before the army’s withdrawal, intense skirmishes had erupted between the Sudanese army and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia, leaving a trail of civilian casualties in their wake.

Eyewitness accounts from Wad Madani recounted how the RSF, despite initial resistance from a small contingent of Sudanese soldiers, swiftly gained control of the city’s eastern neighbourhoods, including the strategic Hantoub Bridge.

The RSF’s swift advance enabled them to take over the northern districts of Wad Madani, establishing military outposts and asserting their dominance over government headquarters.

Meanwhile,
...back at the shootout, Butch shot Black Bart's other gun out of his other hand......
most of the Sudanese army’s First Division personnel retreated towards Sennar State, with the army maintaining a deafening silence regarding the city’s seizure.

Amidst the general withdrawal, fierce battles reportedly erupted around the First Infantry Division command center, as a small group of soldiers refused to abandon their post.

The RSF, undeterred by this resistance, quelled the opposition and arrested the remaining soldiers.

Social media platforms have been flooded with videos showing RSF soldiers patrolling the city’s streets in military vehicles, further fueling public anxiety.

The army’s abrupt departure and its alleged deception of civilians, particularly the broadcasting of false news about repelling the RSF attack, have drawn widespread criticism on social media.
The army’s abrupt departure and its alleged deception of civilians, particularly the broadcasting of false news about repelling the RSF attack, have drawn widespread criticism on social media.

Many Sudanese expressed their frustration with the military’s decision to leave behind weapon and ammunition stockpiles, effectively handing them over to the enemy.

Residents of the neighbouring city of al-Kamilin have expressed their apprehensions about the RSF’s potential expansion into their territory.

For eight months, Wad Madani has served as a refuge for over 0.5 million displaced people from Khartoum.

Sudanese army launches probe into troops withdrawal from Wad Madani

South Sudan, populated mostly by the natives, split off from Sudan proper, which left North and South Darfur to be oppressed by the guys with turbans...
ese army has launched an investigation to examine the circumstances surrounding the withdrawal of the First Division from Wad Madani, paving the way for the city’s takeover by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF).

Following three days of intense festivities on the outskirts of Wad Madani, the heavily armed RSF forcefully entered the city, which is bustling with civilians and displaced individuals. Thousands of residents sought refuge elsewhere for their safety.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, Brigadier General Nabil Abdallah, a spokesperson for the armed forces, confirmed, "The First Division forces withdrew from Wad Madani city yesterday, Monday."

He further stated, "An investigation is underway to scrutinize the reasons and circumstances behind the forces’ withdrawal from their positions. The investigation findings will promptly be presented to the relevant authorities, and the facts will be disclosed afterwards."

Sources with knowledge of the matter informed Sudan Tribune that Major General Rabie Abdullah, the commander of the Fourth Division in the Blue Nile State, has been tasked with leading the First Division in Wad Madani.

The Sudanese public has expressed dismay and anger in the aftermath of the army’s retreat and the fall of Wad Madani, a city ranking as the third-largest city in Sudan after Nyala and Khartoum.

The RSF accessed the city from the eastern side. They crossed the Hantoub Bridge after orders were issued for the military command to withdraw from the city’s defensive positions and dismantle the barriers hindering the advancing forces.

Concurrently, in a parallel development, the RSF commander, Mohammed Hamdan Hemetti, appointed "Abu Aqla Mohammed Ahmed Kikel" as the commander of the First Civil Infantry Division in al-Jazirah State and the head of the security committee in the state, as per an RSF spokesperson statement.

The statement emphasized, "Liberating al-Jazirah State from the clutches of the people’s adversaries is a step toward liberating the entire country and dedicating our efforts to constructing the Sudanese state on new foundations that uphold freedom, justice, equality, and democracy."

The RSF spokesperson urged all organizations to expedite the delivery of humanitarian aid to the city and encouraged displaced civilians to return to their homes.

#1  How can one explain this event? It is well known that the Sudan Army is composed of different ethnic elements from the Hadendowa in the east to the Zaghawa in the west. Generally speaking, it is officered by Arabs, but the army is not peopled by the Arabs who settled the Nile from Wadi Halfa to Khartoum, and Khartoum south to Kosti and southeast to Wad Medani. Thus, the fighting is left to lesser animals. Now, the Arab-officered army shows no disposition to fight whether in central Sudan, or in western Darfur. Unless there is a turnaround, and soon, the Sudan nation will simply fall apart, and like humpty-dumpty there is no one around to put it back together again. (I feel sure someone at the State Department is planning to interfere. Somehow. Some way.)

Authorities accuse jihadist groups of massacres of civilians in Burkina Faso
[AFRICANEWS] Burkina Faso
...The country in west Africa that they put where Upper Volta used to be. Its capital is Oogadooga, or something like that. Its president used to be Blaise Compaoré, who took office in 1987 and was chased out in 2014. Now it's the usual army officer type guy, Captain Ibrahim Traore, running things, who's just doing a bang-up job unless he's already been deposed...
's ruling military regime on Monday accused jihadist groups of carrying out massacres against civilians in the north of the country, urging people to "give no credence" to images of abuses committed by gunnies portrayed as Burkina Faso soldiers.

Since the beginning of December, several videos have been widely posted on social networks accusing the army of committing acts of violence against civilians in the Djibo area (north).

"The government invites the population not to give any credence to the video images currently circulating on social networks", wrote the government front man and Minister for Communication, Jean Emmanuel Ouédraogo, in a blurb.

These videos "attempt to make people believe that massacres of civilians have been perpetrated by Burkina Faso's fighting forces", he added, denouncing a "communication campaign fuelled by the terrorists", concerning "massacres that they themselves have perpetrated".

"These are treacherous fabrications designed to discredit the Defence and Security Forces (FDS) and the Volunteers for the Defence of the Homeland (VDP, civilian auxiliaries to the army), who put up heroic resistance to the onslaught of Lions of Islam who failed miserably to take control of the Djibo camp on 26 November", he said.

On that day, jihadists carried out a massive attack against an army detachment in Djibo, killing several soldiers, according to security sources. No official figures were released, but the state media claimed that the army's response had "neutralised more than 400 terrorists".

At least 40 civilians were also killed and 42 maimed, according to the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights. On Monday, the government front man also assured that "Burkina Faso's fighting forces are acting with professionalism and respect for human rights
...which are usually open to widely divergent definitions...
"
Djibo, close to the so-called three-border zone between Niger, Burkina Faso and Mali where jihadist groups are active, has been under siege for months. Several convoys seeking to supply the area have been attacked.

Since 2015, Burkina Faso has been caught up in a spiral of violence perpetrated by jihadist groups affiliated to the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems....
and al-Qaeda, which has left a total of more than 17,000 civilians and soldiers dead.

Ansarullah Political Bureau condemns new American alliance in the Red Sea
“How dare they defend themselves against us! It is forbidden in Koran and Hadith for unbelievers to stay the hand of the beloved of Allah!”
[HODHODYEMENNEWS.NET] The Political Bureau of Ansarullah emphasized that the international alliance announced by the US is an alliance to protect the Israeli entity and Israeli ships.

In a statement issued this evening, Ansarullah said that the alliance announced by the US is an integral part of the aggression against the Paleostinian people and the Arab and Islamic Ummah.

According to the statement, the American alliance aims to encourage the Zionist entity to continue its brutal crimes against the Paleostinian people in Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It is currently ruled with an iron fist by Hamas with about the living conditions you'd expect. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response...
The statement explained that this alliance contradicts international law, threatens maritime navigation, and seeks to militarize the Red Sea for the benefit of the Israeli entity.

"What the Yemen
...an area of the Arabian Peninsula sometimes mistaken for a country. It is populated by more antagonistic tribes and factions than you can keep track of...
i armed forces are doing against Israeli ships is a humanitarian, moral duty aimed at alleviating the impact of blockade imposed on Gaza," the statement read, asserting that "Yemeni Armed Forces’ operations against the Israeli enemy do not pose a threat to any country in the world."

"Lifting the siege on Gaza is a role that should have been effectively fulfilled by the UN, organizations, bodies that claim to advocate for human rights
...which are usually entirely different from personal liberty...
," Ansarullah said in the statement.

The statement affirmed that the Yemeni people remain resolute in their principled stance to support the Paleostinian people until the aggression ceases, and the blockade on the Gaza Strip is lifted.

Ansarullah called for supporting Gaza through all available means, condemning Israeli crimes and any actions by the US that endanger regional security.

Bloomberg: LNG Tankers Diverted from Red Sea Due to Houthi Attacks
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] Tankers carrying liquefied natural gas (LNG) are being diverted from routes through the Red Sea due to threats of attacks from Yemen's Houthis, Bloomberg writes , citing ship tracking data.

“Since Friday (December 15), at least five vessels have changed their course, turning around from the waters off the coast of Yemen,” the material says.

The agency recalled that this is an unavoidable route point for ships using the Suez Canal, which links Europe and Asia.

As Regnum reported , in early December in the Red Sea, the Yemeni Houthis attacked the American warship USS Carney with missiles and drones. According to UK-based maritime security company Ambrey, the cargo ship was damaged in a drone strike off the northern Yemeni port of Hodeidah.

Off the coast of Yemen on December 14, the Houthis attacked a container ship of the Danish company Maersk in the Bab al-Mandeb Strait, heading to Israel.

According to the Malaysian newspaper New Straits Times, the United States and the EU, through their actions, could provoke an escalation of the conflict in the Gaza Strip and unleash a new military conflict in Yemen.

US predicts defeat in the upcoming war with the Houthis

The United States decided to support Israel and stop Houthi attacks on ships sailing through the Red Sea, but risked testing the effectiveness of Iranian anti-ship missiles on its fleet. Orientalist Artyom Kirpichenok told an IA Regnum correspondent about thison December 19.

Earlier, Pentagon chief Lloyd Austin announced that the United States and its allies would conduct an operation to protect the Red Sea amid Houthi attacks on commercial ships.

“There are two points here. Firstly, the conflict in Yemen (and the Houthis are located on Yemeni territory) has been going on for quite a long time. A few years ago, Saudi Arabia, at the instigation of the same United States, committed aggression against Yemen. By the way, then a coalition of pro-American Gulf countries was also formed. And this intervention turned into a protracted war, which did not bring any laurels to Saudi Arabia. One reason for this is that the Houthis have the support of Iran, which supplies them with weapons. Including anti-ship missiles, as well as missiles that can hit oil production facilities,” Kirpichenok recalled.

Secondly, the Houthis recently expressed support for the population of the Gaza Strip, which is subject to Israeli shelling. According to the expert, in recent weeks the Houthis, using missiles and commandos, have intercepted ships that either belong to Israeli companies or are carrying cargo to Israeli ports on the Red Sea. And this dealt a very serious blow to trade in the region. Many companies involved in the transportation of containers refused to deliver goods to Israel. Transportation prices have risen.

“And these are very fun times. Naturally, the United States decided to support its ally, Israel, and at the same time oppose Iran. That's why we formed this wonderful coalition. Like, let’s strike at the Houthis so that they stop attacking Israel,” Kirpichenok noted.

He stressed that there is no reason to expect that this US operation in the Red Sea will end successfully for the Pentagon. Kirpichenok urged not to forget that at one time the Egyptians came to Yemen, having received a protracted war there and “little good.” Then Saudi Arabia came to Yemen - things didn’t work out for them either. Now the USA and the company are planning to go there.

“And what will this naval coalition be able to do with Yemen, given that there are no plans for ground operations. Bomb? Well, it’s been bombed before. Sink the Yemeni fleet? This is a rather strange goal. But the members of this wonderful coalition can very easily receive some kind of Iranian-made anti-ship missile from the Houthis. After all, the Houthis are funny guys, from whom you can expect various surprises. They smashed the Saudis very well,” concluded Kirpichenok.

Earlier, IA Regnum reported that, according to Austin, the operation, which was called “Guardian of Prosperity,” will take place under the auspices of the United Maritime Forces. Its goal is to ensure safe navigation in the Red Sea after "reckless attacks by the Houthis from Yemen." The operation is expected to involve several countries, including the UK, Bahrain, Canada, France, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, Seychelles (sic!) and Spain.

Prior to this, on December 3, the American warship USS Carney and several commercial ships were attacked in the Red Sea using drones and missiles .

In addition, on December 15, the Shiite Ansar Allah movement (Houthis), which controls the northern part of Yemen, announced that it had attacked the container ship Maersk Gibraltar of the Danish company Maersk in the Bab al-Mandeb Strait. The ship was heading to Israel.

Hundreds of US synagogues receive bomb threats as spree continues despite arrests
All those brave keyboard warriors, whether wannabe jihadis, leftwing Brownshirts, Jew-haters on the right, or just bullies enjoying piling on.
[IsraelTimes] Security network tracks 199 threats this weekend, with nearly 100 in Caliphornia, an impregnable bastion of the Democratic Party,, 62 in Arizona; synagogues in at least 17 states plus Washington affected

Hundreds of synagogues and Jewish institutions across the United States received bomb threats by email this weekend, in a substantial acceleration of a months-long spree of hoax threats.

The Secure Community Network, which coordinates security for Jewish institutions nationwide, said early Sunday that it had tracked 199 threats over the past 24 hours, with nearly 100 in California and 62 in Arizona. Synagogues in at least 17 states plus Washington, D.C., were affected, according to local media reports.

None of the threats were deemed credible after local investigations. But some of them caused significant disruption: A Boulder, Colorado, synagogue evacuated its Shabbat morning services on Saturday, for example, while a congregation in western Massachusetts canceled its Sunday religious school.

In Alabama, the state’s only Jewish politician, Philip Ensler, posted a video to social media showing the moment that the Torah reading at his synagogue was interrupted and everyone in attendance was ushered outside. "This is exhausting," he tweeted. "I pray for the day that we can worship and live in peace."

Ensler, who is also executive director of the Jewish Federation of Central Alabama, later said in a federation statement that six of seven Jewish institutions in his area had received the threats.

The surge in threats comes at a time of high anxiety for American Jews amid a spike in reports of antisemitic incidents amid Israel’s war against Hamas
...not a terrorist organization, even though it kidnaps people, holds hostages, and tries to negotiate by executing them,...
in Gazoo

, triggered by the terror group’s October 7 massacre in Israel, in which thousands of holy warriors killed some 12,00 people, mostly civilians slaughtered amid brutal atrocities, and took about 240 hostages of all ages.

It also follows multiple arrests of people who have been charged with sending bomb threats targeting Jewish and other institutions, including a minor in California last week and a man in Peru in September.

Hundreds of synagogues have received bomb threats since the latest spree began over the summer, including during the High Holidays. The arrests do not appear to be blunting the threats.

"Unfortunately, there is reason to believe that this nationwide trend will continue in the foreseeable future," the Jewish Federation of Northern New Jersey told community members in an email on Sunday afternoon sharing news of at least five threats in the area.

60 anti-Israel protesters arrested inside the Capitol Rotunda
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news]
  • They scattered children's' shoes across the floor of the renowned Capitol Rotunda to protest the growing death toll in Gaza

  • The anti-Israel demonstrators also demanded Congress drop Biden's $110 billion 'deadly deal' in the Senate - the massive aid package in the works

  • 'Stop funding violence against our communities,' read one massive sign held up in the Capitol Rotunda

Scores of activists demanding an end to the violence in Gaza have frequently clashed with cops on Capitol Hill since the October 7 Hamas terrorist attack and have even chained themselves to the White House fence.

'Stop funding violence against our communities,' read one massive sign the demonstrators held up in the Capitol Rotunda.
Which has nothing to do with Israel...
'Divest from militarism - invest in life,' read other signs demonstrators waved overhead. 'Protect immigrants and asylees' and 'ceasefire' read others.
Also nothing to do with Israel.
The demonstration came as the House has gone home for the holidays and the Senate remains in session - with low attendance rates - while leaders from each side try to reach a deal on a package that includes funding for Ukraine and Israel in exchange for new border security provisions.

Biden is facing renewed pressure from the progressive left to call for a ceasefire as Palestinian casualties pile up in the war in Gaza.

After stalwart support of Israel's offensive for many weeks, the White House has only recently begun to show daylight between itself and the military campaign.

The White House on Monday said it had spoken to the Israeli government about the killing of two women sheltering at a Catholic church in the Gaza strip, saying there needs to be better deconfliction to protect civilians and humanitarian workers.

One idea under consideration is to allow Homeland Security officials to stop migrants from applying for asylum at the southern border if the total number of crossings on a day exceeds 5,000.

Border agents are overwhelmed after single day totals reportedly exceeded 10,000 illegal aliens entering the U.S. by the southern border every day of last week.

Biden's supplemental request included $61 billion for Ukraine, $14 billion for Israel, $9 billion for humanitarian assistance, $11 billion for border and migrant-related matters and $2 billion for the Indo-Pacific region.

Only nine Republicans need to vote for the package to get it through the Senate if all Democrats vote for it, though Democratic detractors can be expected. The House is a different ballgame.

Hardliners on both sides of the aisle in the House are expected to oppose the deal: conservative Republicans will say it doesn't live up to H.R. 2, their party-line immigration bill and that they oppose Ukraine aid in general. Progressive Democrats will oppose border restrictions.

IF we have ANY resemblance of Equal Justice left in the USA (DC). They should be abused like the Jan. 6th protesters have been.

Which, may be why DC is actually doing a symbolic arrest of them. So as not to give the Jan. 6th political prisoners a legal foothold to demand humane treatment and equal treatment.

"Farwanah was one of the few and prominent money exchangers who was able to transfer to the military wing of Hamas the amount of money needed for the fighting," the IDF and Shin Bet say.

The statement says Farwanah transferred tens of millions of dollars to Hamas over the last few years, as well as during the ongoing war, "knowing that the funds are essential to the continued ability of the [military wing of Hamas] to fight."

Senior IDF officer: We’ve managed to ‘break operational abilities’ of Hamas’s northern Gaza City brigade

City brigade, as troops gain full control of the Jabaliya neighborhood.

"The 162nd Division has operational control in Jabaliya," Cohen says. "Jabaliya is not the Jabaliya it used to be, we killed hundreds of Lions of Islam in Jabaliya and arrested around 500 suspects in terror activities, some of whom took part in the events of October 7," he says.

According to military assessments, some 1,000 Hamas operatives have been killed by troops in Jabaliya. Another 3,500 Paleostinians have been captured by the IDF, of which at least 500 are suspected of being involved in terror, including the October 7 attacks on southern Israel.

At least 70 of the estimated 1,500 Lions of Islam who carried out the October 7 attacks lived in Jabaliya, and so far 57 of their homes have been destroyed by the IDF.

The IDF says that some of the terror suspects who surrendered to troops in Jabaliya were holed up in civilian sites, including hospitals and schools.

Many Hamas sites, including training grounds, command centers, weapon production plants and tunnels, have been destroyed in Jabaliya, the IDF adds.

The 162nd Division has also located Hamas intelligence material during the operations in Jabaliya, which has helped further operations in the area.

Cohen says his division has "led to the dismantling of the military capabilities" of Hamas’s northern Gaza City brigade.

IDF footage shows elite Air Force unit operating inside Hamas tunnel in Gaza City

[IsraelTimes] The Foreign Ministry issues a travel warning to Israelis against visiting the Maldives, citing increased anti-Israel sentiment during the war with Hamas. The warning comes "due to the heightened anti-Israel atmosphere, including public comments by officials."

The statement recommends that Israelis refrain from visiting at this time and those already there should consider leaving.

The warning notes that should Israelis need help, the Foreign Ministry would "find it difficult to provide assistance."

Israel does not have diplomatic ties with the Moslem-majority nation, but Israelis have been allowed to visit the country famed for its island atolls.

As part of a broader travel warning issued in the wake of the war, Israel cautioned its citizens from visiting the Maldives along with other Moslem nations.

IDF: Our troops fired at Hamas spotters in Gaza church
[IsraelNationalNews] The IDF on Tuesday concluded an initial review of an incident on Sunday in which two women were reportedly shot in the area of the Latin Church in Shejaya, Gaza.

The Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem blamed the IDF for the incident, claiming its snipers shot dead the two women, a mother and daughter, while they were inside the church.

The Patriarchate accused the IDF of shooting the women "in cold blood and without warning" inside the premises of the church.

The IDF said in a statement on Tuesday that the review "found that on December 17th, in the early afternoon, Hamas terrorists launched a Rocket Propelled Grenade (RPG) at IDF troops from the vicinity of the church. The troops then identified three people in the vicinity, operating as spotters for Hamas by guiding their attacks in the direction of the IDF troops. In response, our troops fired towards the spotters and hits were identified."

Hamas is using suicide bombers - IDF soldier
[Jpost] As the IDF continues its operations in the Gaza Strip, Hamas terrorists have continued to use non-traditional methods of warfare, according to a recent report from Maariv.
Jacketwallahs are very traditional among the jihadi set.
A combat soldier who served in Gaza told the newspaper on Tuesday that Hamas is using suicide bombers.

"Anyone who wasn't inside doesn't understand what we're dealing with," the soldier said. "There's very heavy fighting in a built-up area, and you can't know where a Hamas 'surprise' will come from when, at the same time, we're trying to locate the hostages."

"Hamas is using women suicide bombers, in traditional Muslim dress, against us. They're covered from head to toe, and underneath, they have an explosive belt."

And if you tell them to strip, all Haters of Israel (and especially the UN agency for women) will have a field day.
