#1  Ah, yes, the ruling caste's desire to the 'good old days' of clear class distinction. Thus the open borders for a new serf population.

#3  ...FWIW, some years ago we went to Biltmore, the old Vanderbilt estate near Asheville NC that's now a museum and park. If you take the big tour, eventually you get to see the servant's quarters down towards the bottom of the house, and I'll tell you what - they were nicer than most of the single airman's quarters I had when I was in.

Al-Burhan visits Omdurman after Sudanese army's advancement
[SUDANTRIBUNE] Sudan
...a Moslem country located in the Horn of Africa. It is noted for its affinity for rule by ex- or current generals, its holy men, and for the oppression of the native Afro population by its Arab conquerors. South Sudan, populated mostly by the natives, split off from Sudan proper, which left North and South Darfur to be oppressed by the guys with turbans...
ese army chief Abdel Fattah al-Burhan visited the Wadi Saydna military region north of Omdurman on Friday night following the break of the siege on the Corps of Engineers, a key development in the ongoing conflict between the army and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF).

The front man of the Sudanese army said al-Burah’s visit was aimed at inspecting troops and reviewing the progress of ongoing operations.

Accompanied by Ahmed Ibrahim Mufaddal, the Director of the General Intelligence Service, he was received by his aide Lt Gen Yasir al-Atta and regional commanders.

"This visit came on the heels of the Armed Forces’ successful completion of the first phase of operations," read the statement referring to the break of the siege on the Corps of Engineers in southern Omdurman on Friday.

"During the visit, he was briefed on the progress of operations and commended the forces for their achievements on the ground," further added the statement.

The conflict between the army and paramilitary forces commenced in Khartoum on April 15, 2023, quickly spreading to include the Darfur region and Kordofan. Apart from Khartoum, the RSF took control of al-Jazirah State in December of the previous year.

Video clips circulated depicting the arrival of army forces from the Karari area, north of Omdurman, to the Corps of Engineers, which had been under siege by the RSF in the south- of Omdurman since mid-April.

The clips also showcased trucks transporting supplies and food from the Wadi Saydna military area, north of Omdurman, to the Corps of Engineers. This base had faced difficulties in receiving supplies since the commencement of the war.

Sudanese army breaks siege of Omdurman's Corps of Engineers
[SUDANTRIBUNE] The Sudan
...a Moslem country located in the Horn of Africa. It is noted for its affinity for rule by ex- or current generals, its holy men, and for the oppression of the native Afro population by its Arab conquerors. South Sudan, populated mostly by the natives, split off from Sudan proper, which left North and South Darfur to be oppressed by the guys with turbans...
ese army announced Friday that its forces had broken the siege of the Corps of Engineers in southern Omdurman for the first time since the outbreak of the conflict with the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) in April 2023.

This marks a significant development in the ongoing struggle for control of the capital and potentially shifts the balance of power in the wider conflict.

After fierce battles during the past two weeks, army forces stationed north of Omdurman managed to break through the RSF siege and link up with troops inside the Corps of Engineers.

In a celebratory telegram, Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Mohammed Osman al-Hussein hailed the achievement as an "important victory" and a "difficult stage overcome."

Social media footage showed the convergence of army forces and joyous celebrations in the al-Thawra suburb. However,
you can observe a lot just by watching...
it is important to note that pockets of RSF resistance remain in several Omdurman neighbourhoods, such as the radio and TV broadcasting houses and surrounding areas, such as the Ombada district in western Omdurman.

This breakthrough comes after months of RSF attacks on key army installations, including the Corps of Engineers, the Armoury Corps, and the Wadi Seydna airbase. The three sites that they failed to capture have now joined forces in a concerted effort to retake control of Khartoum from the paramilitary forces.

On Thursday, the army released videos depicting officers from the Armoury Corps inside the Corps of Engineers, further solidifying the narrative of a coordinated push.

The siege’s breaking represents a potential turning point in the conflict, but the fight for control of Khartoum is far from over. Only time will tell if the army can capitalize on this momentum and ultimately achieve its stated goal.

Strip in anticipation of an Israeli offensive targeting the border town of Rafah.

Amid rising tensions between Israel and the Gaza Strip, Egypt has begun building a wall and levelling land along its border with the Gaza Strip in anticipation of an Israeli offensive targeting the border town of Rafah.

Satellite images analysed by the News Agency that Dare Not be Named and a video from the Sinai Foundation for Human Rights attest to this unprecedented initiative. The images reveal the erection of a concrete wall and barriers along the Sheikh Zuweid-Rafah road, some 3.5 kilometres west of the border with Gaza.

The Sinai Foundation for Human Rights, based in London, released a video showing a crane lifting concrete walls along this road, demonstrating the progress of the construction work.
The brief but useful video can be seen at the link.
According to the Foundation, the aim of this project is to create a highly secure area near the border with the Gaza Strip, in preparation for the possibility of a mass exodus of the Paleostinian population in the event of a further escalation of the conflict.

These latest developments come as Israel continues to wage a prolonged offensive against the holy warrior group Hamas
...not a terrorist organization, even though it kidnaps people, holds hostages, and tries to negotiate by executing them,...
, which has been active in the Gaza Strip for several months.

Although Egypt has not officially recognised this work, the initiative raises questions about its regional implications. Indeed, the preparations on the Egyptian side of the border suggest that Cairo is preparing for a possible humanitarian crisis that could result from the intensification of the conflict between Israel and Gaza.

Despite requests for comment, the Egyptian government has remained silent on these issues, casting doubt on the motives and intentions behind this controversial work.

Soldier martyred, 9 terrorists killed in two separate KP operations: ISPR
[GEO.TV] A solder bit the dust embraced martyrdom and nine bad boyz were potted by security forces in two separate operations in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KP), the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Saturday, as the country continues its fight against terrorism.

In a statement, the military’s media affairs wing said that an intelligence-based operation (IBO) was conducted by the security forces in Tank District. During the IBO, two terrorists, including a high-value target (HVT) Rehmat Ullah alias Badar Mansur, were killed.

"In another operation conducted in South Wazoo District, after intense fire exchange, seven faceless myrmidons were sent to hell."

The ISPR further said that weapons, ammunition, and explosives were also recovered from the killed terrorists.

The slain Death Eaters remained actively involved in numerous terrorist activities in the area against the security forces as well as extortion and murder of innocent civilians, it added.

However,
nothing needs reforming like other people's bad habits...
during the operation, Sepoy Shahzeb Aslam, 29, having fought gallantly, embraced martyrdom.

"Security forces of Pakistain are determined to wipe out the menace of terrorism from the country and such sacrifices of our brave soldiers further strengthen our resolve," the ISPR added.

Special forces searching Khan Younis hospital detain over 100 terror suspects, IDF says
[IsraelTimes] Military denies Hamas
...not a terrorist organization, even though it kidnaps people, holds hostages, and tries to negotiate by executing them,...
claim troops targeted generators at Nasser hospital, says soldiers worked to repair malfunctioning machine, brought in replacement; rocket fire at Ashkelon

The Israel Defense Forces said Saturday that special forces soldiers have arrested more than 100 terror suspects at the Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis as they continued to carry out searches of the medical center.

The military said that forces from the Maglan and Egoz units have also killed several Hamas operatives on the outskirts of the hospital.

IDF troops entered the Nasser Hospital building on Thursday after surrounding the hospital for a week, saying they had information that hostages had been held there and that some bodies of dead hostages may still be at the site. At least one released hostage has said that she and over two dozen other captives had been held inside the hospital.

The soldiers have found mortars, grenades and other weaponry belonging to Hamas inside the medical facility, as well as medications with the names of hostages on them.

The IDF on Friday denied claims that troops targeted generators at the hospital. Hamas had claimed several patients had died due to a lack of oxygen after power was cut off and the generators stopped following an IDF raid.

"This morning, a report was received concerning the interruption of generator activity, resulting in the failure of electrical systems within the hospital. Contrary to the allegation, IDF troops did not target the generators. The troops were instructed to ensure the continuous functioning of the hospital," the IDF said.

"Despite the generator malfunction at the hospital, all vital systems continued to operate throughout the day based on the existing Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) system in the hospital," the IDF said.

The IDF said that upon receiving reports of the generator malfunction at the hospital, troops worked to repair it, while the Navy’s Shayetet 13 commando unit brought in a replacement generator.

"These actions were carried out in close coordination between the IDF and the hospital administration through officers of the Coordination and Liaison Administration for Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. (CLA)," the IDF said.

The IDF said it also brought food and water to Nasser Hospital, as well as coordinated with international aid organizations to supply fuel for the medical center.

s and battles between troops and button men.

As the fighting continued in Khan Younis, the IDF said Saturday that troops led by the 7th Armored Brigade raided several compounds, finding weapons including bombs, grenades and Kalashnikov rifles.

Troops in the area also called in several air strikes on Hamas forces including three turbans who were trying to launch rockets.

In addition, a paratrooper force killed a terror cell in close-quarters combat, the IDF said.

The IDF also said that there were also festivities in central Gaza where Nahal soldiers killed several operatives.

Meanwhile,
...back at the barn, Bossy was furiously chewing her cud and thinking...
rocket warning sirens sounded in the Ashkelon area on Saturday morning, with the IDF saying one rocket fired from northern Gaza was intercepted by the Iron Dome air defense system.

The IDF said within half an hour of the attack, the Hamas terrorist behind the attack was struck and killed.

The rocket had been fired from the Sheikh Radwan neighborhood in Gaza City. Within 30 minutes, the IDF said the Nahal Infantry Brigade and 215th Artillery Regiment identified the operative behind the attack, and called in an airstrike, killing him.

Two Iranian gas pipelines allegedly attacked by Israel - NYT
New details on this story from yesterday.
[JPost] Two major gas pipelines in Iran were allegedly attacked by Israel this week, according to a Friday report by The New York Times, citing an IRGC-affiliated military strategist and two Western officials.

The two pipelines, which carry gas from Iran's south to their major cities such as Tehran, were hit in multiple locations simultaneously. The attack "knocked out about 15 percent of Iran’s natural daily gas production," the Times quoted energy experts as saying.

The report said that the attack on the gas pipelines caused disruption in several Iranian provinces, such as Fars and Chahar Mahal Bakhtiari, regarding "the flow of heat and cooking gas to millions of people." Israel has targeted Iranian nuclear and military sites in the past, with assassinations being reported of Iranian commanders and scientists - whether they were located in Iran or not.
