Afghanistan
Six terrorists eliminated in North Waziristan operation: ISPR
[GEO.TV] Swinging into action for wiping out terrorism, security forces neutralised six bully boyz in an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa’s North Wazoo district, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said Wednesday.

On the reported presence of terrorists, the security forces came into action immediately and conducted an operation in the tribal district today.

During the conduct of operation, intense fire exchange took place between the troops, and the terrorists, as a result of which six bad boyz were potted, whereas, one soldier also sustained injuries, the military’s media said in an official statement.

"Weapons, ammunition and explosives were also recovered from the killed terrorists, who remained actively involved in numerous terrorist activities including murder as well as extortion and abduction of innocent civilians," it added.

The forces were conducting a sanitisation operation to eliminate any other bully boyz found in the area, the ISPR said, adding that locals of the area appreciated the operation and expressed their full support to eliminate the menace of terrorism.

Earlier in the month, a soldier embraced martyrdom and nine bad boyz were potted by security forces in two separate operations in the province. An intelligence-based operation had been conducted by the security forces in Tank District, according to the ISPR. During the IBO, two terrorists, including a high-value target (HVT) Rehmat Ullah alias Badar Mansur, were killed.

"In another operation conducted in South Waziristan District, after intense fire exchange, seven bully boyz were sent to hell." However,
facts are stubborn; statistics are more pliable...
during the operation, Sepoy Shahzeb Aslam, 29, having fought gallantly, embraced martyrdom.

IDF's strategic command sets sights on Hezbollah: tomorrow's targets in the crosshairs tonight
[Ynet] With fighting in the Gaza Strip winding down in intensity, the focus of Israel's senior government and military officials has shifted northward.

Following the elimination of five senior Hezbollah commanders last week and the terror organization’s response of launching widespread rocket barrages into the Galilee region, it is evident that the military confrontation at the Lebanon border is reaching a boiling point.

The Air Force continued to pound targets in southern Lebanon Thursday morning, following the elimination of several targets in the Syrian capital of Damascus and the southern Lebanon village of Kafra overnight.

IDF Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi visited the Galilee on Tuesday and conducted a situation assessment with the 146th Division, before meeting with the local alert squad in the border farming community of Shtula. Halevi told them, "Hezbollah decided on the evening of October 7 to join the conflict and will pay a very heavy price for it," assuring that residents would return home to a place safe from terrorists.

Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, who paid a visit to the Northern Command the previous day, said that the Security Cabinet is "planning to intensify the firepower against Hezbollah, which is failing to find replacements for the commanders we are eliminating."

Despite the frustration of residents displaced from their homes nearly five months ago, with their return still appearing distant, and amid extensive rocket barrages and continuous firing by anti-tank missile units at the evacuated settlements, the IDF maintains that the war's achievements to date have shifted the balance of power regarding Hezbollah's threat to northern settlements. However, the campaign is far from over.

Rabbi, teen hitchhiker killed in terror shooting at West Bank gas station
[IsraelTimes] Yitzhak Zeiger, 57-year-old father of 3, slain while pumping gas near settlement of Eli, along with Uria Hartum, 16; gunman, named as PA cop, shot dead at scene by restaurateur

Two Israelis were killed when a Paleostinian terrorist shot up a gas station in the West Bank on Thursday afternoon before being shot and killed by the proprietor of a nearby business on leave from fighting in Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It is currently ruled with an iron fist by Hamas with about the living conditions you'd expect. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response...
, the military and medics said.

The attack, the second deadly shooting at the spot outside the settlement of Eli since June, comes as security tensions around the West Bank have risen ahead of the Moslem holy month of Ramadan, even as the military remains focused on fighting in Gaza and escalating skirmishes on the northern border.

The Magen David Adom ambulance service said two men were found rubbed out at the gas station shortly after 5 p.m. one on the side of the road and one in a car.

The victims were named as Rabbi Yitzhak Zeiger, 57, a father of three and a resident of Shavei Shomron in the West Bank, and Uria Hartum, a 16-year-old high school student from the settlement of Dolev who had been hitching a ride with Zeiger.

Zeiger, a volunteer with paramedic and rescue services organizations, was filling the car with gasoline when he was shot and killed, though he attempted to return fire, according to local authorities.

Hartum was killed as he sat inside the car.

The Israel Defense Forces said the assailant, later identified as a Paleostinian Authority policeman, was rubbed out at the scene by the owner of a nearby hummus restaurant.

Aviad Gazbar, who said he had recently returned from reserve duty in the Gaza Strip, told media at the scene that he "heard shots" while visiting the hummus restaurant.

"I fired a bullet so that the terrorist would know I was here. I saw that he saw me, and he started charging towards me, I took him down and continued scanning," he added.

Images showed that the terrorist was armed with an assault rifle.

leader sent a message to exiled officials claiming the world will compel Israel to end the war due to civilian toll

Hamas
...not a terrorist organization, even though it kidnaps people, holds hostages, and tries to negotiate by executing them,...
is winning the fight in Gaza, the organization’s leader in the war-torn Strip told its bigwigs in Qatar

early this month, according to a Thursday report.

In early February, Hamas’s exile leadership convened in Doha, worried that the IDF was getting the better of the terror group as Israeli troops and Arclight airstrike
...KABOOM!...
s killed fighters and took more ground, said The Wall Street Journal, citing "people informed about the meeting."

A message from Hamas’s Gaza leader Yahya Sinwar arrived, arguing that despite the tactical losses, Hamas had the upper hand. International pressure would force Israel to end the war, he argued, and the four battalions in Rafah were prepared for the likely IDF ground assault on the border city.

It is unclear how fully Sinwar understands the reality on the battlefield, as he is thought to be hiding in tunnels, likely under Khan Younis. Egyptian officials cited in the article think "he has lost touch with reality."

The IDF says that 242 soldiers have been killed in the four months of the ground offensive in Gaza, while it killed around 12,000 Hamas fighters and maimed many more. It also killed 1,000 forces of Evil inside of Israel during the Hamas assault on October 7.

Israel believes Hamas had around 30,000 fighters on October 7.

The Hamas-controlled Gaza health ministry reported Thursday that since the start of the war, more than 30,000 people had been killed in Gaza. The figures cannot be independently verified, and are believed to include both civilians and Hamas members killed in Gaza, including as a consequence of terror groups’ own rocket misfires.

The WSJ also reported that Hamas has altered its tactics since the November ceasefire, moving away from larger assaults of up to 30 men toward hit-and-run ambushes using small arms and RPGs.

The attacks are meant to bleed Israel until it is forced to end the war, possibly as part of a hostage deal with Hamas. Talks on such an agreement are ongoing, with Israeli negotiators working with US, Qatari, and Egyptian partners in Doha.

Significant gaps remain, including over the length of a lull in hostilities. Hamas wants the war to end and Israel to pull out its troops.

Israeli leaders pledge to continue fighting until "total victory" is achieved, which they define as the toppling of Hamas as both a military and governing organization, and the release of all hostages held in Gaza.

Hamas has also been using recordings of Israeli hostages pleading for rescue in Hebrew to draw soldiers into an ambush, reported the WSJ, and placing explosives in bags taken from Israeli kibbutzim that soldiers are likely to pick up.

IDF officers inside the Gaza Strip told The Times of Israel this week similar accounts about a change in Hamas tactics.

"There is resistance, but it’s not like it was at the beginning," Lt. Col. Aviran Alfasi, commander of the Givati Brigade’s Tzabar Battalion, said in Gaza City’s Zeitoun neighborhood. "They shoot and run away."

"The battle is way less complex than it was," he said. While his battalion has freedom of action in Zeitoun, "there is still more work," said Alfasi.

"The more we and the Nahal Brigade operate, the more [Hamas’s] capabilities continue to decrease," he said.

According to the WSJ, IDF commanders, including at the upper echelons, are increasingly doubting that their tactical successes will result in a clear victory at the strategic and political levels.

At some point, Israel — and its international partners — will have to replace Hamas with another entity to rule Gaza.

"What stands between running in place in Gaza and toppling Hamas is a different civil government," military theorist Eran Ortal insisted.

But Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu Netanyahu is averse to discussing his vision for who will replace Hamas, saying only that he will not hand over power to the Paleostinian Authority, which he distrusts, and that Israel will maintain full security control.

"After the great sacrifice of our civilians and our soldiers, I will not allow the entry into Gaza of those who educate for terrorism, support terrorism and finance terrorism," he said. "Gaza will be neither Hamastan nor Fatahstan."

Last week, a senior Israeli official said that Jerusalem is seeking Paleostinians who are not affiliated with Hamas to manage civilian affairs in areas of the Gaza Strip designed as testing grounds for postwar administration of the enclave.

The Israeli official said the planned "humanitarian pockets" would be in districts of the Gaza Strip from which Hamas has been expelled, but that ultimate success would hinge on Israel achieving its goal of destroying the Islamist terror group across the tiny coastal territory that it has been governing for 16 years.

"We’re looking for the right people to step up to the plate," the official told Rooters on condition of anonymity. "But it is clear that this will take time, as no one will come forward if they think Hamas will put a bullet in their head."

Israeli officers, however, tell The Times of Israel that they are on the way to defeating Hamas.

"If we didn’t believe in it, we’d have nothing to look for here," said Battalion 931 commander Lt. Col. Oz Meshulam. "Every day, we are defeating and destroying Hamas."

"To truly deal with it, it takes time," he said. "At least till the end of the year."

Many killed in Gaza aid stampede; IDF says its fire caused no more than 10 casualties
[IsraelTimes] Hamas
...a contraction of the Arabic words for "frothing at the mouth",...
puts toll at 107, blames Israel, could suspend hostage talks; IDF: Most casualties were trampled or run over; troops did not fire on crowd, shot at several Gazooks endangering them

Dozens of Paleostinians were killed Thursday in Gazoo

City as they swarmed aid trucks that entered the city.

Hamas blamed the IDF for the deaths. The military said most of the casualties were caused by a stampede and being run over by the supply vehicles. Gunmen also opened fire in the area as they looted the supplies.

The army said it did not fire at the crowd rushing the main aid convoy. It acknowledged that troops opened fire on several Gazooks who moved toward soldiers and a tank at an IDF checkpoint, endangering soldiers, after they had rushed the last truck in the convoy further south.

The Hamas-run Gaza health ministry said the corpse count reached 107, with hundreds more injured. The figures could not be independently confirmed.

The Israel Defense Forces published drone video showing thousands of people swarming around the aid trucks as they reached the area in northern Gaza. In some cases, the vehicles continued to try and push past the crowds.

According to an initial IDF probe of the crush, the vast majority of the casualties were a result of trampling and being struck by the aid trucks.

The incident began at around 4 a.m., when some 30 trucks carrying humanitarian aid arrived at the coast of Gaza City, to deliver food to Paleostinians in the Rimal neighborhood.

Thousands of Paleostinians rushed the trucks after they passed an IDF checkpoint in central Gaza, leading to a stampede in which dozens of Paleostinians were killed and hundreds maimed, some after being run over by the trucks, according to the probe.

The IDF’s initial investigation found that some of the trucks managed to continue further north, where gunnies reportedly shot up the convoy near Rimal and looted it.

Dozens of Paleostinians who rushed the last truck in the convoy, further south, began to move toward an IDF tank and troops stationed at the military’s checkpoint, the investigation found.

An officer stationed in the area ordered soldiers to fire warning shots in the air as the Paleostinians were within a few dozen meters, as well as gunfire at the legs of those who continued to move toward the troops, the probe said.

The IDF said that fewer than 10 of the casualties were a result of Israeli fire.

The IDF has coordinated several aid deliveries to northern Gaza in recent weeks, although this one was larger than usual. It said it would now look for a solution to prevent such incidents from happening again and was conducting probes into the incident.

The incident came amid mounting international concerns about the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip and the difficulties in providing aid for the more than two million people caught up in a war that began when the Paleostinian terror group Hamas carried out a massive October 7 attack on Israel, killing some 1,200 people, most of them civilians, and taking 253 hostage.

Gaza City and the rest of northern Gaza were the first targets of Israel’s air, sea, and ground offensive. The area has suffered widespread devastation and has been largely isolated from the rest of the territory for months, with little aid entering and most of the population having evacuated southward.

Aid groups say it has become nearly impossible to deliver humanitarian assistance in most of Gaza because of the difficulty of coordinating with the Israeli military, ongoing hostilities and the breakdown of public order, with crowds of desperate people overwhelming aid convoys. The UN says a quarter of Gaza’s 2.3 million Paleostinians face starvation; around 80% have fled their homes.

The Hamas health ministry said in addition to at least 107 people killed, around 760 were maimed, describing it as a "massacre."

Paleostinian Authority President the ineffectual Mahmoud Abbas
...aka Abu Mazen, a graduate of the prestigious unaccredited Patrice Lumumba University in Moscow with a doctorate in Holocaust Denial. While no Yasser Arafat, he has his own brand of evil, just a little more lowercase....
’s office said he "condemned the ugly massacre conducted by the Israeli occupation army this morning against the people who waited for the aid trucks at the Nabulsi roundabout."

Medical teams were unable to cope with the volume and severity of injuries from dozens of maimed people who arrived at Shifa Hospital, said ministry spokesperson Ashraf al-Qidra.

The head of Kamal Adwan hospital in Gaza City, Hussam Abu Safieyah, said it had received 10 dead bodies and dozens of maimed patients from the incident west of the city.

"We don’t know how many there are in other hospitals," Safieyah told Rooters by phone.

Hamas warned in a statement that the incident could lead to the failure of talks aimed at a deal on a truce and hostage release.

"The negotiations conducted by the movement’s leadership are not an open process at the expense of the blood of our people," it said, referring to Thursday’s deaths and saying Israel would be responsible for any failure of the talks.

Videos posted on social media showed trucks carrying many dead bodies. Rooters verified the location of one video to al-Nabulsi roundabout that showed several men who were motionless, as well as several maimed people.

Another video, which Rooters was unable to verify, showed bloodstained people being carried in a truck, medics treating people on a hospital floor, and bodies being wrapped in shrouds.

"We don’t want aid like this. We don’t want aid and bullets together. There are many deaders," one man was saying in a video.

Kamel Abu Nahel, who was being treated for a gunshot wound at Shifa Hospital, said he and others went to the distribution point in the middle of the night because they heard there would be a delivery of food. "We’ve been eating animal feed for two months," he said.

He said Israeli troops opened fire on the crowd, causing it to scatter, with some people hiding under cars. After the shooting stopped, they went back to the trucks, and the soldiers opened fire again. He was shot in the leg and fell over, and then a truck ran over his leg as it sped off, he said.

Medics arriving at the scene on Thursday said they found "dozens or hundreds" lying on the ground, according to Fares Afana, the head of the ambulance service at Kamal Adwan Hospital. He said there were not enough ambulances to collect all the dead and maimed and that some were being brought to hospitals in donkey carts.

Separately, the Health Ministry said the Paleostinian corpse count from the war has climbed to 30,035, with another 70,457 maimed.

The figures cannot be independently verified, and are believed to include both civilians and Hamas members killed in Gaza, including as a consequence of terror groups’ own rocket misfires.

The IDF says it has killed more that 12,000 Hamas operatives in addition to another 1,000 killed inside Israel on October 7.

Fighting also continued in other areas of Gaza.

The IDF is engaged in a large-scale operation in the Zeitoun neighborhood in Gaza City where it said troops killed numerous Hamas operatives over the past day.

Israeli forces killed several button men — including by calling in Arclight airstrike
...KABOOM!...
s — destroyed tunnel shafts and rocket launchers, and captured weapons, the military said in an update. Troops also uncovered a Hamas explosives and rocket manufacturing plant in the neighborhood.

Fighting continued in southern Gaza’s Khan Younis, and airstrikes were called against Hamas operatives in northern Gaza, including against a pair that shot up troops, the IDF said.

Other strikes killed several more Hamas operatives in the central Gaza region.

Meanwhile,
...back at the shootout, Butch clutched at his shoulder. Ow! he exclaimed, with feeling......
a rocket launched from the Gaza Strip struck an open field in southern Israel. The launch set off sirens in the border communities of Sa’ad and Kfar Aza. There were no reports of injuries.

The Hamas October 7 attack on southern Israel that ignited the war killed 1,200 people, mostly civilians, amid horrific atrocities including widespread gang rape, torture, and mutilation of victims. Some of the 3,000 attackers who burst through the border from Gaza also kidnapped 253 hostages who were taken back to Gaza. Hamas is still holding around 130 hostages, a quarter of whom are believed to be dead.

Much more, plus photos and video. See also here.
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] Hamas has accused the IDF of opening fire in a 'massacre' on Thursday that has left more than 100 dead near Gaza City, but Israel says Palestinians were killed when panicked truck drivers were surrounded and tried to drive through the crowd.

Israeli sources confirmed troops opened fire at 'several people' after feeling threatened by crowds near the aid point.

A witness said that the violence unfolded when thousands of people desperate for food rushed towards aid trucks at the western Nabulsi roundabout.
