Africa Horn
Sudan rejects Iran's bid for Red Sea naval base
[SUDANTRIBUNE] Iran’s attempt to establish a permanent naval base on Sudan
...a Moslem country located in the Horn of Africa. It is noted for its affinity for rule by ex- or current generals, its holy men, and for the oppression of the native Afro population by its Arab conquerors. South Sudan, populated mostly by the natives, split off from Sudan proper, which left North and South Darfur to be oppressed by the guys with turbans...
’s Red Sea coast was rejected, highlighting the complex power dynamics at play in the war-torn East African country, the Wall Street Journal reported on Sunday.

According to a senior Sudanese intelligence official, Iran
...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites. Formerly a fairly civilized nation ruled by a Shah, it became a victim of Islamic revolution in 1979. The nation is today noted for spontaneously taking over other countries' embassies, maintaining whorehouses run by clergymen, involvement in international drug trafficking, and financing sock puppet militias to extend the regime's influence. The word Iran is a cognate form of Aryan. The abbreviation IRGC is the same idea as Stürmabteilung (or SA). The term Supreme Guide is a the modern version form of either Duce or Führer or maybe both. They hate Jews Zionists Jews. Their economy is based on the production of oil and vitriol...
offered Sudan advanced weaponry, including a helicopter-carrying warship, in exchange for permission to build the base.

The official, Ahmed Hassan Mohammed, stated that the base would have allowed Iran to "gather intelligence" and "station warships" near the vital Suez Canal and Israel.

Sudan, however, declined the offer, citing concerns about potentially alienating the United States and Israel, with whom the country has recently sought to improve relations.

While Iran’s request was denied, it underscores the strategic importance of Sudan, particularly its Red Sea coastline, for regional powers.

The ongoing civil war between the Sudanese army and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) has created a vacuum, attracting the attention of various countries vying for influence in the region.

Sudan’s military has utilized Iranian-supplied explosive drones to combat the RSF in the conflict, which has resulted in widespread human rights
...which are usually open to widely divergent definitions...
abuses and a humanitarian crisis.

Meanwhile,
...back at the game, the Babe was wondering why the baseball kept getting bigger and bigger. Finally it hit him...
the United Arab Emirates is accused by the Sudanese government of supplying weapons to the RSF. But UAE officials denied these accusations. The Wall Street Journal reported that Egypt trained Sudanese troops and provided drones.

The rejection of Iran’s base request and the involvement of other regional actors highlight Sudan’s complex and volatile situation.

Sudanese government officials balm Washington for turning blind eye on the UAE support to the RSF saying that Biden administration has first to curb UAE support before saying something about their limited military cooperation with Iran.

Last February, former U.S. Ambassador to Sudan, John Godfrey, expressed concern about Iranian arms shipments to the Sudanese army.

#1  This was a done deal. It now looks as though the present quasi-government of the Sudan is finished. It can only survive with the support of Egypt and Sisi has killed the deal with Iran. The rebels have moved south of Wad Medani and now threatens most of the Blue Nile. When it goes, Port Sudan is next.

RSF accused of fresh violations, army intensifies operations in Al-Jazeera state

South Sudan, populated mostly by the natives, split off from Sudan proper, which left North and South Darfur to be oppressed by the guys with turbans...
’s central al-Jazeera State allege the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) are committing new violations in several villages while the army ramps up military operations in the region amidst a communications and internet blackout that has lasted for about 24 days.

Last week, the Central Observatory for Human Rights in Sudan released a detailed report stating the RSF stormed 53 villages in al-Jazira State within three weeks, coinciding with the disruption of communication networks. The report alleges these attacks resulted in the deaths of 46 civilians and injuries to about 90 others, in addition to widespread arrests and looting of villagers’ property.

The Wad Madani Resistance® Committees in Al Jazeera State said in a statement that one civilian was killed and six others were maimed during the RSF’s storming of the village of Wadi Shair, located west of the city of Al Hasahisa — about 45 kilometres north of Wad Madani.

According to the resistance committees, the RSF stormed the village of Wadi Shair on multiple occasions, looting cars, residents’ property, and large sums of money from merchants in the nearby village of Tabet. The statement also mentions a large RSF base situated between the two villages, where the group allegedly stores looted cars and property.

groups find it difficult to obtain information about RSF violations in al-Jazeera State due to the ongoing communications blackout, which they claim has worsened the situation’s severity. They allege the RSF has exploited the blackout to commit similar crimes, including looting warehouses of medicines and food commodities, during their entry into Wad Madani city.

In December 2023, the RSF took control of Wad Madani, the capital of al-Jazeera State, before expanding south towards the outskirts of Sennar State.

Kenyan troops kill Al-Shabaab fighters crossed from Somalia
[Garowe] The Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) have killed five al-Shabaab
... the personification of Somali state failure...
fighters in Fafi, Garissa County, in yet remarkable progress within the East African nation which has been battling against terrorism for the last decade.

The krazed killers, who had crossed over from neighboring Somalia, were ambushed by the KDF Special Operations Force, who were deployed to the region recently after the security situation deteriorated within the northeastern and Lamu regions.

The highly trained forces eliminated 5 forces of Evil and captured 4 al-Shabaab fighters who are currently undergoing interrogations. The captured forces of Evil could face trial under Kenyan law or could be subjected to court martial in the country.

Special Forces recovered 2 PKM, 1 RPM, 6 AKs, and several IED-making materials. Additionally, telephone phones and SIM cards were also recovered. A quick exploitation of the phones has so far given important leads on several local AS facilitation networks.

The intelligence-led operation caught the al-Shabaab fighters by surprise as they crossed into Kenya and established a temporary camp in the Fafi area of Garissa, authorities reported. This was one of the best gains by the security teams within Kenya in as many months.

Al-Shabaab group is increasingly under pressure in the Republic of Kenya and Somalia, following the activation of the second phase of operations against the group. The first phase targeted Galmudug
...a semiautonomous region in central Somalia, bordering Puntland on the north. Galmudug is not trying to obtain international recognition as a separate nation, but rather considers itself autonomous within the larger Somali federalism, for what that's worth...
and Hirshabelle states where over 3,500 forces of Evil were killed.

The second phase is set to kick off in Jubaland and Southwest states where KDF man. The al-Shabaab forces of Evil have been trying to topple the fragile UN-backed federal government of Somalia, but have faced resistance throughout the period.

Somali army kills 30 Al-Shabaab members in Jubaland state
[ShabelleMedia] An hours-long operation that was carried out jointly by Somali and regional forces in areas of the Lower Jubba region targeted al-Shabaab
... the Islamic version of the old Somali warlord...
’s main bases.

The operation in areas along the river in Jamame district,
…elsewhere given as Jamaame town, near River Jubba…
killed more than 30 members of the al-Shabaab, according to a statement issued by the Federal Government of Somalia.

The government forces with the help of Jubaland Darwish forces have increased the operations targeting the al-Shabaab group in the past few days, according to the reports.

On the other hand, the al-Qaeda-linked al-Shabaab group has issued a statement claiming victory in the war that took place in several areas in the southern Lower Jubba region.

The Ministry of Defense said SNA’s Danab forces conducted on Saturday a successful operation in Bar Sanguuni, Lower Juba, neutralizing 19 and capturing 9 al-Shabaab bully boys.

The operation, which disrupted enemy supply lines, also resulted in the confiscation of weapons and the removal of mines, advancing the ongoing battle against terrorism.
Besides military operations, the government has also invested in tracking and locating the group's sources of funding, including closing down 250 bank accounts and 70 mobile money transfer firms, which are linked to funding the krazed killers.

Also, the government has closed down websites and social media groups that are linked to Alshabab krazed killers. President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud maintains that by December 2024, the group would have made significant losses in the country as the Somali National Army took over security responsibilities.

Brutal Attacks in Northern Burkina Faso Claim 170 Lives, Including Women and Children
Either Al Qaeda-linked GSIM/JNIM or ISIS. With no information given, how is one to know?
[Garowe] Authorities in Burkina Faso
...The country in west Africa that they put where Upper Volta used to be. Its capital is Oogadooga, or something like that. Its president used to be Blaise Compaoré, who took office in 1987 and was chased out in 2014. Now it's the usual army officer type guy, Captain Ibrahim Traore, running things, who's just doing a bang-up job unless he's already been deposed...
have confirmed that about 170 people, including women and kiddies, were killed in "massive bloody attacks" that targeted three villages in the north of the country on a single day last week. Since 2015, Burkina Faso has been experiencing jihadist violence attributed to gangs linked to al-Qaeda and the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems....
, resulting in nearly 20,000 deaths and over two million displaced individuals.

On the same day, February 25, a separate attack targeted a mosque and another hit a church in this West African nation. The Public Prosecutor of Ouahigouya in the north, Ali Benjamin Coulibaly, stated on Sunday that he was informed of "massive bloody attacks in the villages of Komsilga, Nouda, and Soro" in Yatenga Province, resulting in the execution of around 170 individuals. Additional injuries and material damages were reported, though the attackers’ identities remain unspecified.

Coulibaly has directed the judicial police to launch an investigation to clarify the circumstances of these condemnations and incidents. He urged anyone with information about these events to contact the authorities. An investigation team visited the affected villages on February 29 to gather all evidence and reach conclusions.

Residents in the area, contacted by a news agency, confirmed that dozens of women and kiddies were among the victims. These attacks were separate from other violent mostly peaceful incidents on the same day, including assaults on a mosque in Natiaboani in the east and a Catholic church in the village of Isekaani in the north, resulting in dozens and at least 15 deaths, respectively.

Security sources highlighted other attacks on February 25, including those on the Tankoualou military detachment in the east and the 16th Rapid Intervention Battalion near Kongoussi in the north, where the army and civilian supporters reportedly neutralized several hundred terrorists.

Security Minister Mohammed Sana acknowledged in a national television statement that the country witnessed several coordinated and simultaneous attacks over the previous weekend. He attributed the change in enemy tactics to the destruction of terrorist bases, and training camps, and efforts to cut off their funding sources and control supply lines.

Since 2015, Burkina Faso, now governed by the military following a 2022 coup, has faced jihadist violence leading to nearly 20,000 deaths and over two million displacements. In January alone, 439 individuals were killed in such incidents, according to estimates by the non-governmental organization ACLED, which tracks conflict-related casualties worldwide.

Vietnam-bound Businessman Arrested With Cocaine In Factory-fitted Hidden Part At Abuja Airport
[SAHARAREPORTERS] Nigeria's anti-narcotics agency, the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), has announced the arrest of a 40-year-old businessman, Ejike Chibuke Solomon.

Solomon was arrested with 1.45 kilograms of cocaine concealed in his luggage while attempting to board an Ethiopia Airlines flight 950 to Vietnam via Addis Ababa, Ethiopia from the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja.

A statement issued on Sunday by NDLEA's Director of Media & Advocacy, Femi Babafemi, said Ejike was intercepted by operatives of the agency at the Abuja airport on Saturday, March 2, 2024.

Babafemi said that NDLEA officers subjected the suspect to a thorough search, and in the process, the illicit substance was discovered.

He said the substance was concealed in the suspect’s bag.

"In his statement, the suspect claimed he was on a business trip to Vietnam," the statement said.

The NDLEA's spokesman also disclosed that its special unit operatives on Friday swooped on members of a syndicate that deals in methamphetamine, cocaine and heroin in their hideouts in parts of Lagos.

During the operation, he said the operatives raided the home of Esimone Amachukwu Christopher at 14 Arochukwu Street, Ejigbo, where 10.012 kilograms of methamphetamine was found in possession of his associate, 40-year-old Evelyn Nneka Okem.

"Esimone is currently at large," the statement said.

He added, "While the Ejigbo operation was going on, another set of officers were simultaneously busy in the residence of another member of the syndicate, 45-year-old Ebele Edwin Iwuegbunam, located at Plot 1604 Close D, 4th Avenue, FESTAC town, Lagos where they arrested him and recovered 429.5grams of cocaine and 7 kilograms of heroin.

Giving a breakdown of results of separate operations across the country in the week under review, Babafemi said, "In Kogi state, NDLEA officers on a stop and search operation along Okene-Lokoja-Abuja expressway on Friday 1st March intercepted a commercial bus marked GRM 347XA (Borno) conveying 28 compressed blocks of cannabis sativa weighing 11kg; 100 bottles of codeine-based cough syrup and 500 tablets of diazepam, all concealed in three plastic drums covered with cattle fats, heading to Jos, Plateau state.

"While operatives in Ogun state on Thursday 29th February recovered 169kg consignment of cannabis abandoned in a truck at Sagamu tollgate, their counterparts in Lagos seized 25 cartons of tramadol containing 325,000 pills in Ikeja the previous day Wednesday 28th Feb. Same day, a suspect, Abdullahi Garba Khalil, 42, and 2,745,000 capsules of pregabalin recovered from him at Singer market, Sabon Gari area of Kano were handed over to the Kano state command of NDLEA by the Department of State Security, DSS.

"In the same vein, the 243 Recce Battalion, Nigerian Army, Badagry on Saturday 2nd March transferred 27 sacks of cannabis sativa weighing 1,110kg recovered at a coastal community, Ajido by soldiers, to the Seme Special Area Command of NDLEA. A suspect, Hassan Muhammad, 34, was on Saturday 2nd March arrested with 44,950 pills of tramadol at Moranti area of Borno state by NDLEA operatives."

The statement added, "In Abia state, NDLEA operatives on Thursday 28th Feb raided a drug joint at Cemetery Barracks, Aba, where Ifeanyi Uche, 37, was arrested with different quantities of cocaine, heroin, and methamphetamine. Another raid was carried out at the abandoned Eyimba Hotel, Ogbor Hill, Aba, where illicit substances were seized and suspects arrested on Friday 1st March.”

Meanwhile, NDLEA's spokesman, however, stated that while the agency continued to clamp down on drug traffickers, its various commands across the country had continued with the War Against Drug Abuse (WADA), advocacy campaign in the past week.

Haiti Violence: Gangs Free 4,000 Inmates In Mass Jailbreak
[SAHARAREPORTERS] Armed gangs have stormed the main prison in Haiti's capital Port-au-Prince, releasing many inmates.

The vast majority of about 4,000 men held there have now escaped, a local journalist told BBC News.

Among those detained were gang members charged in connection with the 2021 killing of President Jovenel Moïse.

Violence in Haiti, the poorest country in the Americas, has worsened in recent years. Gangs aiming to oust PM Ariel Henry control 80% of Port-au-Prince.

The latest upsurge in violence began on Thursday when the prime minister travelled to Nairobi to discuss sending a Kenyan-led multinational security force to Haiti.

On Friday, Kenyan President William Ruto said he and Mr Henry had signed an agreement and were working to fast-track the deployment.

In January, the UN said more than 8,400 people were victims of Haiti's gang violence last year, including killings, injuries and kidnappings - more than double the numbers seen in 2022.

Violence has been rife since President Moïse's assassination in 2021. He has not been replaced and elections have not been held since 2016.
That’s ok. Violence was rife before then, too.
Under a deal, elections were to be held and the unelected Mr Henry was due to stand down by 7 February, but that did not happen.

Since he left the country for Kenya, unrest in Port-au-Prince has escalated further, with gang leader Jimmy Chérizier (nicknamed "Barbecue") declaring a coordinated attack to oust the prime minister.

"All of us, the armed groups in the provincial towns and the armed groups in the capital, are united," said the former police officer, who is thought to be behind several massacres in Port-au-Prince.

A wave of shootings in the capital has left four police officers dead and five injured.

At the weekend the French embassy in Haiti advised against travel in and around the capital. Haiti's police union has asked the military to help reinforce the prison.

Jewish man attacked outside Paris synagogue; another stabbed in Zurich
[IsraelTimes] French police hunt assailant who used ethnic slur as he attacked 62-year-old; Swiss police increase security at Jewish sites

French authorities were searching for an assailant who attacked a man leaving a synagogue in Gay Paree, Interior Minister Gerald Darmanin said late Saturday.

Darmanin said the attack on Friday evening, allegedly targeting a man in his early 60s, was "a new antisemitic attack that occurred in Gay Paree."

"Everything is being done to apprehend the perpetrator of this unspeakable act," Darmanin said in a post on X, formerly Twitter, Saturday evening.

A statement from the Gay Paree public prosecutor’s office said an assailant was seen physically and verbally assaulting a 62-year-old man, wearing a Jewish skullcap, as he was leaving a synagogue Friday at around 5:30 p.m. local time in Gay Paree’s 20th arrondissement.

A witness saw an assailant hit the victim, who fell on the ground and briefly lost consciousness, the prosecutor’s office said in a statement emailed to The News Agency that Dare Not be Named. A witness reported to the police that the assailant shouted an ethnic slur at the man under attack. The victim was transported to a hospital for treatment, the statement said, adding that the perpetrator fled on foot.

The attack came hours after Darmanin, the interior minister, said he had ordered police prefectures around the country to "immediately strengthen protections" of Jewish communities, particularly around schools and places of worship.

Darmanin said in a post on X that heightened surveillance around places, frequented by "our Jewish compatriots" is aimed to prevent them being targeted because of the "unfolding tragedies in the Middle East."

A sharp rise in antisemitic acts in La Belle France has been reported in the wake of the October 7 Hamas

. Data from the French Interior Ministry and the Jewish Community Protection Service watchdog showed that 1,676 antisemitic acts were reported in 2023, compared to 436 the previous year.

The number of such attacks is on the rise across Europe.

In Switzerland
...home of the Helvetians, famous for cheese, watches, yodeling, and William Tell...
, a 15-year-old was arrested on suspicion of stabbing and critically wounding an Orthodox Jewish man on the streets of Zurich, police said Sunday.

In a statement, they said they suspect antisemitism as the motive.

Police said they have stepped up security measures at Jewish sites in the city following the attack. The extra security was put in place for "specific locations with a Jewish connection," police said, following discussions with local Jewish organizations. They gave no further details.
"We can say no more!"
Jonathan Kreutner, general secretary of the Swiss Federation of Jewish Communities (SIG), told Swiss television that physical attacks on Jewish people in the country were rare.

Last month, the SIG raised concern about attitudes toward Jewish people after local media reported police had opened an investigation into a sign in Hebrew displayed by a business in Davos that declared Jews were barred from renting ski gear.

Belgian police arrest adult, 3 minors over jihadist plot messages
[IsraelTimes] Federal prosecutor’s office says probe showed four suspects were planning an attack

Belgian police on Sunday arrested an adult and three minors over messages they exchanged allegedly plotting a jihadist attack, local media reported.

The four were arrested as police conducted searches at addresses in the cities of Brussels, Ninove, Charleroi, and Liege, outlets RTBF and HLN reported. No weapons or explosives were found.

Multiple attempts by AFP to contact the federal prosecutor’s office handling the case for confirmation were not immediately answered.

Belgian authorities remain highly vigilant since the 2016 jihadist attacks by jacket wallahs that killed 32 people in blasts at Brussels airport and the city’s metro system.

And in October last year, a Tunisian man rubbed out two Swedish football fans in Brussels before being fatally shot by police.

According to broadcaster RTBF, Sunday’s arrests stemmed from a police operation looking into people deemed potentially violent mostly peaceful and with links to Islamic extremism.

"The investigation showed that these people were planning to commit a terrorist attack," Eric Van Der Sypt, a front man for the federal prosecutor’s office, told the HLN news website.

"The plans were not yet very concrete, but still serious enough to arrest and interrogate them," he said.

Police were questioning the four suspects and an investigating judge was on Sunday or Monday to determine what would ensue.

[Rudaw] An unidentified drone targeted a building in Garmiyan administration’s town of Kalar on Friday killing one person, with media affiliated with the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) attributing the attack to The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire...
Jamal Ali, the spokesperson for Kalar’s police department told Rudaw that "the attack was carried out with a drone, targeting a house, resulting in the killing of one person."

Ali added that the police are currently investigating the situation and that the identity of the person killed in the attack remains to be known.

The building in question is used by Tavgari Azadi, a PKK-linked party active in the Kurdistan Region.

Jumaa Karim, Tavgari Azadi’s spokesperson confirmed to Rudaw that the building belongs to the party, despite it not being officially used as a party base but rather as a location to hold meetings at.

Rudaw has learned that the building, located in Kalar’s Awarakan neighborhood, was previously used as an official base for Tavgari Azadi, but was later emptied and has now been used unofficially by the party for a few years.

Rojnews, a media outlet affiliated with the PKK, reported on the attack claiming that Ottoman Turkish drones targeted "a civilian home" in Kalar, and that the person killed was a civilian.

Kalar Mayor Shahab Ahmed told Rudaw that the person killed was on the rooftop of the house when the drone struck, adding that only the targeted house was damaged, while all other buildings in the neighborhood remained unscathed.

The Ottoman Turkish defense ministry has yet to comment on the attack.

Ottoman Turkish officials have repeatedly accused Sulaimani authorities of supporting the PKK. Ottoman Turkish forces often carry out aerial attacks in the province on the grounds of targeting the group.

On September 18 a dronezap on Arbat airport, located 27 kilometers southeast of Sulaimani, killed three members of the province’s counter-terrorism force. Ankara did not claim responsibility for the strike but asserted that members of the Syria-based People’s Protection Units (YPG) were receiving training at the airport, confirming "the accuracy of the measures" taken by Turkey against Sulaimani.

A flight ban on Sulaimani International Airport by Turkey has been in place since April 3. The Ottoman Turkish foreign ministry has said that the ban, which is to remain in effect until June 2024, is related to the alleged "intensification" of PKK activity in Sulaimani.

Turkey is also accused of carrying out deadly dronezaps on busy main roads in the province.

In August, a Ottoman Turkish dronezap targeted a vehicle in Sulaimani’s Nalparez subdistrict, killing three civilians.

Gaza airstrike takes out senior Hamas recruiter as IDF raises troop death toll to 246
[IsraelTimes] Sgt. Maj. (res.) Dennis Yekimov, 33, killed in Khan Younis Saturday; military wraps up 2-week operation to retake previously conquered Zeitoun neighborhood of Gaza City

The Israel Defense Forces on Sunday announced the death of a soldier killed during fighting in the southern Gazook city of Khan Younis the day before, the latest loss for an infantry brigade rotated into Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It is currently ruled with an iron fist by Hamas with about the living conditions you'd expect. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response...
late last week.

The death of Sgt. Maj. (res.) Dennis Yekimov, 33, Yekimov’s death brought the number of slain troops in the ground offensive against Hamas
...the well-beloved offspring of the Moslem Brotherhood,...
to 246, as fierce fighting continued to rage in several parts of the Strip, even as the army said it had ended a two-week operation to re-clear a previously captured Gaza City neighborhood.

Yekimov, from Beersheba, was part of the Bislamach Brigade, which lost three soldiers in Khan Younis on Saturday when they entered a booby-trapped building in the city. Another 14 soldiers were maimed, six of them seriously, in the blast.

The Bislamach Brigade — the IDF’s School for Infantry Corps Professions and Squad Commanders in wartime — entered Gaza on Thursday to replace the Paratroopers Brigade, which was withdrawn after three straight months of fighting in Khan Younis.

Fighting in the Strip has shown little sign of slowing despite claims of gains in the southern Gaza city, and intense international efforts for a temporary ceasefire before Israel’s ground offensive expands to the southern city of Rafah.

In central Gaza, the IDF and Shin Bet said an Arclight airstrike
...KABOOM!...
Sunday morning took out Mahmoud Muhammad Abed Khad, who had led Hamas recruitment efforts, specifically to the terror group’s Zeitoun Battalion. The IDF and Shin Bet said Khad was also involved in raising funds for Hamas military activity.

The IDF published video it said showed the strike on Khad as he traveled in a vehicle.

Paleostinians in central Gaza said a truck hit by a drone had been carrying aid, a claim denied by the Israeli military, though it was unclear if it was the same strike that killed Khad.

"It was hit by a drone with one missile," turning several people "into pieces," said Haytham al-Quraan, as he examined the remains. "They were delivering aid to the south. Then it was hit again by a second missile."

The Paleostinian Red Islamic Thingy said crews "transferred five deaders" and four injured "due to targeting a truck by an Israeli drone."

Contacted about the incident, the military told AFP: "It was not an aid truck that was struck," but did not elaborate.

Further north, the IDF said it had wrapped up a two-week-long raid in Gaza City’s Zeitoun neighborhood, after troops were redeployed to the area to prevent bully boyz from retaking control of the area the IDF had said it had conquered earlier in the war. The army said at least 113 "terror operatives" were killed in the operation, during which troops destroyed some 35 Hamas and Paleostinian Islamic Jihad

Operations were conducted out of Egypt until 1981 when the group was exiled after the assassination of President Anwar Sadat. targets, including weapon depots and manufacturing sites, tunnel infrastructure, rocket launching sites with hundreds of launchers, and a site belonging to the commander of the Gaza City Brigade, Izz ad-Din Haddad, according to the IDF.

It was unclear if the sites had been re-established or left intact by the IDF following its first sweep of the area months earlier.

Dozens more terror suspects were captured, the army said, accusing Hamas button men of hiding among the civilian population in Zeitoun. Hamas button men are operating in Zeitoun without a "military framework," and in relatively small cells, according to the IDF, after the military said it dismantled the terror group’s battalions in the area in the early stages of the ground offensive.

Four soldiers were killed over the course of the operation, as troops were targeted with small arms, rocket-propelled grenades and bombs amid the operations. According to the IDF, most of the attacks on troops in Zeitoun occurred during the day, rather than at night.

Airstrikes continued to pound areas of southern Gaza, with an AFP correspondent reporting several air strikes in southern Gaza’s Rafah and Khan Younis late Sunday.

The Hamas-run health ministry in Gaza said on Sunday that the corpse count in the war had surpassed 30,400 people, with an additional 71,700 people having been injured. The terror group’s figures are unverified, don’t differentiate between civilians and combatants, and list all the fatalities as caused by Israel — even those believed to have been caused by hundreds of misfired rockets or otherwise by Paleostinian fire.

Speaking to troops of the 98th Division on the Gaza border, Defense Minister Yoav Gallant vowed Israel will not end the war in the Gaza Strip until Hamas is completely dismantled.

"We will not end this war without eliminating Hamas. There will be no such situation. There will be no Hamas as a ruling organization. It will take the time it takes," he said.

At least 16 children have died of malnutrition in recent days as "famine spreads" in Gaza’s north, said a front man for the Hamas-run health ministry. The UN has said it is becoming more difficult to distribute aid inside Gaza. The flow of aid from Egypt has almost dried up in the past two weeks, and a collapse in security has made it increasingly difficult to distribute the food that does get through, according to UN data and officials.

Israel, which checks all trucks entering Gaza from both the Kerem Shalom and Rafah crossings, has blamed the United Nations
...an idea whose time has gone...
for not delivering the aid fast enough after they are cleared, and for leading to a general fall-off in deliveries over the past month.

Officials are also seeking ways to deliver aid to northern Gaza, after a convoy that entered the area early Thursday was embroiled in a chaotic melee in which dozens of Paleostinians died and hundreds more were maimed, with Hamas accusing Israel of opening fire on hungry Gazooks.

Soccer fan arrested for waving Palestinian flag at game; Ben Gvir: ‘Zero tolerance
[IsraelTimes] A fan of the soccer team Hapoel Umm al-Fahm has been arrested and questioned for waving a Paleostinian flag at a match against Maccabi Haifa last Tuesday.

The police say that the 18-year old resident of Umm al-Fahm was arrested on Friday after an "operative and strenuous investigation" by coppers in the Umm al-Fahm cop shoppe.

The individual waved the flag at the beginning of the game, played in Umm al-Fahm’s stadium, which the police said was likely to disturb public order.

The suspect was released with restrictions by the police after being questioned.

Several media reports after the game noted that the flag had been waved, and a Ynet report said it had "aroused the anger of the guests and that of the fans in the stadium," although there was no mention of violence or disturbances as a result of the incident.

There is currently no law against flying the Paleostinian flag, but the police make arrests for doing so on the claim that the flag is likely to lead to a disturbance of the peace, a policy that National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir and Police Commissioner Kobi Shabtai reiterated to coppers in January.

Ben Gvir praised the police for arresting the individual, saying, "On my watch someone who stokes the flames and supports terrorism will be dealt with severely and with zero tolerance."

IDF says it hit some 50 targets belonging to the terror group in western Khan Younis overnight
[IsraelTimes] On Sunday, the IDF said that it had carried out a wave of Arclight airstrike
...KABOOM!...
s against some 50 Hamas targets in western Khan Younis within just six minutes overnight in order to enable ground troops of the 98th Division to maneuver into new areas of the city in the southern Gaza Strip.

According to the IDF, the targets included underground infrastructure, buildings used by Hamas, anti-tank launch positions, booby-trapped buildings, and staging grounds where operatives were gathered.

After the wave of strikes, the 98th Division "began a surprise assault on the area, during which the troops raided terror targets and eliminated terrorists," the IDF said, and added that intensive fighting was ongoing on Sunday morning.

Meanwhile,
...back at the alley, Slats grabbed for his rosco...
in central Gaza, the IDF said the Nahal Brigade killed dozens of Hamas operatives over the past day, some of them by calling in airstrikes, and captured weapons.

Following a deadly incident in northern Gaza on Thursday in which more than 100 Paleostinians were reportedly killed and hundreds more maimed while swarming aid trucks in Gaza City, IDF front man Rear Adm. Daniel Hagari reiterated on Sunday the IDF’s commitment to ensuring that civilians in hard-to-reach areas of Gaza have access to humanitarian aid.

In an English-language video statement, Hagari said that the IDF coordinated a total of 21 airdrops in the Gaza Strip in recent weeks, carried out by the United States, Jordan, La Belle France, the UAE, and Egypt.

Between the countries, more than 450 packages of food and medical aid were dropped over the Strip and distributed to civilians in need. The latest airdrop was carried out on Saturday by the US and Jordan.

Three Biden administration officials confirmed after the airdrop that the planes had distributed military "meals ready to eat" (MREs) in locations that were thought would provide civilians with the greatest level of safety to access aid. Afterward, the US monitored the sites and was able to see civilians approach and distribute food among themselves, according to the officials, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to provide additional details that had not been made public.

"We will continue expanding our humanitarian efforts to the civilian population in Gaza while we fulfill our goals of freeing our hostages from Hamas and freeing Gaza from Hamas," said Hagari.
Geo adds:
Residents in the area said they were surprised by the swift advancement of Israeli tanks, which sparked fresh battles with Paleostinian button men. In one housing project some families took to social media, saying they were unable to leave their homes with the tanks in the streets.

said it attacked two tanks with rockets and blew up a building where soldiers had entered.

#1  they were unable to leave their homes with the tanks in the streets.

Real estate professionals say that if you live in a neighborhood with tanks in the street, you should probably move since your housing investment is likely to depreciate rapidly.

#2  Depends on whose tank it is. Maneuver damage payments can be very lucrative.

Iran claims it executed Mossad ‘terrorist’ for drone attack on Isfahan arms facility
[IsraelTimes] State TV says supposed spy ’planned to explode the workshop complex of the Ministry of Defense’ in January 2023 strike blamed on Israel; details of execution not released

Iran’s judiciary has executed a "terrorist" over a drone attack that targeted a defense ministry site in central Iran
...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites. Their economy is based on the production of oil and vitriol...
last year, state media reported on Sunday.

According to state TV,
... and if you can't believe state TV who can you believe?
the person "planned to explode the workshop complex of the Ministry of Defense in Isfahan under guidance of the intelligence officer of Mossad," Israel’s spy agency.
Oooooh, Mossad… Be afraid, O Iranians — be very afraid.
The date of the execution and the identity of the accused person were not immediately clear.

The site hit in the January 2023 strike was reportedly a weapons production facility for Iran’s kamikaze Shahed-136 drones.

Isfahan is also a known hub for Tehran’s missile industry and is where the Shahab medium-range missile — which has a range capable of hitting Israel — is assembled.

Iran also has several known nuclear research sites in the Isfahan region, including a uranium conversion plant. The country’s sanction-hit nuclear program has been the target of sabotage, liquidations of scientists and cyber-attacks.

Tehran has accused Israel of carrying out several covert actions on its soil.
No! Surely not covert action!!
Iran’s intelligence ministry said in February 2023 that it had arrested the "main actors" involved in the drone attack on the defense ministry site in Isfahan.

The previous month, an anti-aircraft system destroyed a drone, and two others went kaboom! during an attack on a defense ministry facility in the province, officials said at the time.

According to the defense ministry, the nighttime attack left no casualties and only caused minor damage.

Authorities did not elaborate on activities at the site, but IRNA said the strike had targeted "an ammunition manufacturing plant."

Bodies of eight pro-regime fighters found in Syria: Monitor
[Rudaw] The bodies of eight fighters affiliated with the Syrian government who disappeared 11 days ago were found on Sunday in the eastern Deir ez-Zor province, a war monitor reported, blaming the Islamic State

"The bodies of 8 members of the National Defense Forces [NDF] militia were found, killed by ISIS cells on the outskirts of Jabal al-Bishri in the western desert of Deir ez-Zor," said the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR), a Britannia-based war monitor.

since the outbreak of the Syrian civil war.

In February, an ISIS attack in the Syrian desert killed at least nine Syrian army soldiers.
