Attackers shoot 15 dead in South Sudan
[AFRICANEWS] Unidentified assailants have taken the lives of 15 individuals in South Sudan
's Pibor region, including the commissioner, according to a bigwig on Wednesday. This incident marks an escalation of violence within the country.

South Sudan, battling with internal conflicts, has faced significant turmoil since gaining independence from Sudan. The strife, primarily along ethnic lines between Dinkas and Nuers, resulted in widespread casualties from 2013 to 2018.

The fatal attack occurred on Tuesday as the commissioner of Boma County in Pibor was returning from a village visit. "The commissioner and his team visited Nyat village, and upon their return, they were ambushed, resulting in the deaths of 15 individuals, including the commissioner," stated Abraham Kelang, the information minister of Greater Pibor Administrative Area.

Kelang indicated that the perpetrators are suspected to be youths from the Anyuak community within the region. Those killed included Boma's deputy army commander, government officials, and the commissioner's bodyguards.

Despite a peace deal brokered in 2018, festivities persist among various gangs, leading to civilian casualties and displacement. The Greater Pibor Administrative Area remains particularly affected by such violence.

Boma County, predominantly inhabited by the Murle ethnic group, frequently experiences sporadic violence, sometimes involving the Murle, Anyuak, Nuer, or Dinka communities from neighboring Jonglei State. The recurring conflicts underscore the persistent challenges facing South Sudan in achieving lasting peace and stability.

Nalchik resident suspected of financing terrorism
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[KavkazUzel] A resident of Nalchik has been put on the wanted list, suspected of collecting money for a terrorist organization, investigators reported.

As the "Caucasian Knot" wrote, in May 2023, a military court recognized Nalchik resident Khabibulla Isaratov as a member of the terrorist organization "Caucasus Emirate"* and sentenced him to 10.5 years in prison.

The creation of the Caucasus Emirate was announced on October 7, 2007 by the president of the unrecognized Chechen Republic of Ichkeria, Dokku Umarov. In June 2015, militants of the Caucasus Emirate swore allegiance to the leader of the Islamic State terrorist organization, according to the Caucasian Knot material "Caucasus Emirate *".

A criminal case has been opened against a resident of Nalchik under Part 1 of Article 205.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (financing of terrorist activities), the ICR department for Kabardino-Balkaria reported.

According to investigators, in January 2015, the woman “with the aim of participating in the activities of the international terrorist organization Caucasus Emirate” moved to Syria and “joined the ranks of an illegal armed group.” “Subsequently, while living in the territory of a neighboring state, in order to finance terrorist activities, she organized through a banking application the collection of funds to provide resources for the organization,” says the publication posted on March 19 on the department’s website.

The suspect has been put on the international wanted list, the report says. “The investigation is taking measures to collect evidence, as well as to establish other possible facts of violation of criminal law,” the Investigative Committee noted.

Part 1 of Article 205.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation provides for from seven to 15 years of imprisonment.

Two terrorists killed, as many injured in North Waziristan IBO
[GEO.TV] The security forces bumped off two turbans and injured two others during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa's (KP) North Wazoo, one of the most affected region in the country by militancy.

The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said that the turbans were neutralised in an intense exchange of fire during the IBO conducted on the night between March 19 and March 20.

"Weapons, ammunition and explosives were also recovered from killed terrorists, who remained actively involved in numerous terrorist activities in the area," the military’s media wing stated.

It said that sanitisation operation was being conducted to eliminate any other terrorist found in the area as the security forces of Pakistain are determined to wipe-out the menace of terrorism from the country.

As the country witnesses a spike in terrorist attacks, resulting in deaths of several civilians and law enforcement officials, the security forces have been actively operating in the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan
...the Pak province bordering Kandahar and Uruzgun provinces in Afghanistan and Sistan Baluchistan in Iran. Its native Baloch propulation is being displaced by Pashtuns and Punjabis and they aren't happy about it...
and areas most affected by militancy.

Earlier today, a terrorist bid was foiled when some turbans tried to attack and enter the Gwadar Port Authority (GPA) complex in the port city.

A group of at least eight button men stormed the GPA complex but the security forces acted swiftly and foiled the attempt, killing all the bad boys, who belonged to outlawed Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA), Geo News reported citing sources.

Today’s attack follows a fierce terrorist attack on a security forces' check post in KP’s Mir Ali area of North Waziristan, last week, which saw seven Pakistain Army soldiers — including a lieutenant colonel and captain — embracing martyrdom.

On Monday, Pak forces carried out intelligence-based operations (IBOs) in the border regions inside Afghanistan against turbans launching attacks in Pakistain from Afghan soil.

In the light of recent wave of terrorism in Pakistain, ISPR has said that the continuous use of Afghan soil is behind the "growing terrorism in Pakistain".

Clear evidence of turbans coming from Afghanistan, the military’s media wing said, is the reason behind growing incidents of terrorism.

Eight terrorists 'sent to hell' as security forces foil attack on Gwadar Port Authority colony
[GEO.TV] After a group of button men stormed the Gwadar Port Authority (GPA) colony on Wednesday, security forces acted swiftly and foiled the fierce attack, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement.

"Own troops employed for security responded immediately and effectively engaged the terrorists, and in ensuing fire exchange, all eight bandidos forces of Evil were sent to hell," the military's media wing said.

A large quantity of arms, ammunition and explosives was also recovered from the killed terrorists.

The ISPR said two brave soldiers — Sepoy Bahar Khan (age 35 years, resident of district DG Khan) and Sepoy Imran Ali (age 28 years, resident of district Khairpur) — having fought gallantly, sacrificed their lives and embraced Shahadat during the exchange of fire.

"Security forces of Pakistain, in step with the nation remain determined to thwart attempts of sabotaging peace and stability of Balochistan
...the Pak province bordering Kandahar and Uruzgun provinces in Afghanistan and Sistan Baluchistan in Iran. Its native Baloch propulation is being displaced by Pashtuns and Punjabis and they aren't happy about it...
, and such sacrifices of our brave soldiers further strengthen our resolve," it added.

Eyewitnesses said that they heard multiple explosions after firing in the complex which houses passport office, Election Commission of Pakistain (ECP) office, and other government offices.

An explosion was also heard before the firing, police officials told the media, adding that the entire area was cordoned off by security personnel.

Makran Division commissioner confirmed the incident and the number of slain terrorists.

Reacting to the development, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah condemned the attack on the GPA complex, saying: "Elimination of the bandidos forces of Evil is final and the determination of our military men is strong."
CPEC is the future of Pakistain and we will not allow any harm to it under any circumstances, the CM added.

Today’s attack follows a fierce terrorist attack on a security forces' check post in the Mir Ali area of North Wazoo, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KP) last week, as the country witnesses a spike in such attacks, resulting in deaths of several civilians and law enforcement officials.

Following the Mir Ali attack, which resulted in martyrdom of seven Pakistain Army soldiers — including a lieutenant colonel and captain — Pak forces carried out intelligence-based operations (IBOs) in the border regions inside Afghanistan against bandidos forces of Evil launching attacks in Pakistain from Afghan soil.

#1  Pak blurb: Located an hour’s drive from Gwadar Old City, the Gwadar Industrial Estate forms an essential part of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project. It aims to make Gwadar an important sea port. The very existence of this industrial estate allows for more efficient imports/exports. It links to the famous Makran Coastal Highway, which connects Karachi and Gwadar, allowing for more business to be conducted. As Gwadar is undergoing development ... the port city is poised at becoming a central hub for world trade.

Heavily Armed Militants Storm Pakistan's China-Operated Gwadar Port, 7 Dead
[ZH] A rare terror attack has unfolded at Pakistan's strategic port city of Gwadar on Wednesday, which is crucial to the multi-billion dollar China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). A group of heavily armed militants stormed the complex and engaged in a lengthy firefight with security forces.

Pakistan authorities identified the attackers as Baloch separatists, which had also been armed with bombs. At least seven of the militants were shot dead by security forces. The port has for more than the past decade been run by the China Overseas Port Holding Company.

There are unconfirmed reports that a soldier may have died in the attack. "Attackers carried out many blasts," government official Saeed Ahmed Umrani announced in the aftermath.

Few details have been given about how precisely the attack unfolded, but regional media has indicated that "Majeed Brigade of the proscribed Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) has claimed responsibility for the attack." The group said it targeted Pakistan intelligence offices. A heavy police and military presence responded to the port as gunfire was still ringing out.

This southwestern region of the Pakistani province of Balochistan (also the name of a region which extends into Iran and Afghanistan) has been focus of heavy investment from China, and despite Balochistan being well-known for its natural resources including minerals, gas, and coal - the local population remains in severe poverty.

Ethnic separatist and radical Islamic terrorist organizations have for years waged a long-running insurgency against the government and its foreign partners, accusing Islamabad of exploiting the population of the region.

These groups have especially sought to target infrastructure and projects of the CPEC, seeing in it further confirmation that the Pakistan government is stealing from locals and enriching itself off foreign investments.

Saudi Arabia boosts funding to UNRWA by $40 million for Gaza relief
[GEO.TV] A Saudi-funded humanitarian agency pledged on Wednesday to boost the kingdom's funding to the UN Palestinian refugee agency (UNRWA) by $40 million, according to a statement.

The donation by the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief), which is dedicated to Gaza, comes as UNRWA faces a severe funding crunch after the United States and Britain paused support following Israel's accusations that a dozen of its 13,000 staff in Gaza took part in the October 7 Hamas attack on the country.

UNRWA manages shelters, and provides food and healthcare for nearly 2 million people in Gaza, according to its website.

IDF: 3 terrorists slain in Jenin dronestrike, including gunny who murdered Israeli last year
[IsraelTimes] Officials say among those targeted was man who killed Meir Tamari in terror shooting in West Bank last year, suspects also involved in recent attempted suicide kaboom

Three Paleostinian terror operatives were killed and another was seriously maimed in an Israeli dronezap on a car in the West Bank city of Jenin on Wednesday afternoon, the military and Paleostinian health officials said.

The slain button men were named by Paleostinian media as Ahmed Barakat, Muhammad Fayed and Mahmoud Rahhal. Seriously maimed in the strike was Muhammad Hawashin.

According to the Israel Defense Forces and Shin Bet security agency, the four were Paleostinian Islamic Jihad

operatives.

The IDF said Barakat carried out two major shooting attacks last year, including the killing of Meir Tamari near the West Bank settlement of Hermesh in May 2023, and another attack in the area in June 2023 that maimed four soldiers and one civilian.

Hawashin was identified by the Shin Bet as a commander of a local PIJ wing in Jenin.

According to the IDF and Shin Bet, Barakat and Hawashin were also behind an attempt to send a jacket wallah into Israel on March 11, and directed a shooting and bombing attack against troops near the Homesh outpost on March 8, in which seven troops were maimed.

The IDF released footage showing the strike on the vehicle the four terror operatives were in.

Surveillance camera footage circulated online also showed the moment of the strike.

The Arclight airstrike

Since October 7, the IDF has said troops have arrested some 3,500 wanted Paleostinians across the West Bank, including more than 1,500 affiliated with Hamas.

Paleostinians say over 400 people have been killed by Israeli forces in the West Bank since hostilities broke out, most while carrying out attacks or during festivities with IDF troops during nightly raids that have largely concentrated on a handful of areas in the northern West Bank. However,

City’s Shifa Hospital, with the military saying troops had killed more than 90 button men so far.

The operation, which began early Monday morning, was being carried out by the Navy’s Shayetet 13 commando unit, the 401st Armored Brigade, and other forces.

Troops raided the hospital, the largest medical center in the Gaza Strip, after Israeli intelligence indicated that Hamas operatives, including commanders, had returned to the complex to use it as a command center for planning attacks against Israel and troops in Gaza. It was previously raided by the military in November.

"Over the past day, the troops have eliminated bandidos holy warriors and located weapons in the hospital area, while preventing harm to civilians, patients, medical teams and medical equipment," the IDF said in a statement Wednesday morning.

The IDF said that hundreds of terror suspects had so far been questioned at the hospital complex by field interrogators of the Military Intelligence Directorate’s Unit 504 and the Shin Bet security agency.

In a video statement from the hospital on Wednesday, IDF Spokesman Rear Adm. Daniel Hagari said troops had detained between 250 and 300 terror operatives at the medical center during the ongoing operation.

He said another 300 suspects were also being questioned.

"We are talking about many [Paleostinian Islamic Jihad
...created after many members of the Egyptian Moslem Brotherhood decided the organization was becoming too moderate. Operations were conducted out of Egypt until 1981 when the group was exiled after the assassination of President Anwar Sadat. They worked out of Gaza until they were exiled to Lebanon in 1987, where they clove tightly to Hezbollah. In 1989 they moved to Damascus, where they remain a subsidiary of Hezbollah...
] operatives, including battalion commanders, Hamas operatives, including political officials," Hagari said.

"We will reach all the bandidos holy warriors in this area. Our goal is to arrest the bigwigs alive and bring them in for interrogation. Whoever fights against us will be killed," he continued.

Photos circulating on social media on Wednesday showed IDF troops detaining suspected Hamas operatives at the hospital overnight.

Among those detained at Shifa and brought to Israel for further questioning was Mahmoud Qawasmeh, a senior Hamas operative involved in the planning of the 2014 kidnapping and murder of Eyal Yifrach, Gil-ad Shaer, and Naftali Fraenkel, the Shin Bet announced.

In a statement, the security agency said Qawasmeh was "one of the planners and financiers of the infrastructure that carried out the kidnapping and murder attack" in 2014.

The Shin Bet said he had been exiled to the Gaza Strip as part of the 2011 Shalit deal, where he continued to advance attacks in the West Bank, including shooting attacks in recent years carried out by Hamas cells.

Hagari, in his statement, said the IDF was also providing food and water to the civilians sheltering at the hospital and brought in generators for Shifa’s ER.

He said the operation at Shifa would likely last several more days.

The IDF also released a video showing weapons recovered by troops at Shifa, and clips of the elite Duvdevan commando unit operating on the hospital’s premises.

Two Israeli soldiers have been killed in the operation at Shifa, and a senior Hamas commander was slain in an exchange of fire with troops seeking to detain him.

Israeli troops first entered the hospital early in the conflict, on November 5. The war was triggered on October 7 when some 3,000 bandidos holy warriors stormed the border with Israel and unleashed an unprecedented attack on the country’s southern communities, killing some 1,200 people, most of them civilians, and taking 253 hostages to Gaza, where more than half remain.

The IDF also said Wednesday it had struck a Hamas tunnel shaft in northern Gaza overnight. The site was identified after a rocket was fired toward the southern city of Sderot on Tuesday. It fell short and landed inside Gaza.

Also in northern Gaza, the IDF said it struck a six-man Hamas cell in the Jabaliya area.

In central Gaza, the Nahal Brigade continued to battle Hamas operatives over the past day, and in southern Gaza, the 98th Division was battling the terror group in the Khan Younis suburb of al-Qarara, the IDF said.

Also Wednesday, the IDF and Shin Bet announced that an airstrike in southern Gaza’s Rafah earlier in the week had killed senior officers in Hamas’s so-called Emergency Committee.

In the strike carried out by fighter jets on Monday, Sayyid Qutb Hashash, Osama Hamad Dhahir, and Hadi Abu al-Rous were killed, and Muhammad Awad al-Malalhi was apparently maimed, according to the IDF.

Hashash, Dhahir, and al-Malalhi were the heads of Hamas’s Emergency Committee in the north and east Rafah areas, and al-Rous was the operations officer of the Emergency Committee, the IDF said.

The committee is a Hamas body tasked with maintaining public order and civil control in the Strip’s municipalities.

The IDF said the officials were "responsible for organizing terror activity and communication with Hamas operatives on the ground" as well as aiding "the military wing of the terror organization to establish continued control.

"The senior officers were the emissaries of Hamas leadership in Rafah, concentrated Hamas’s activity in humanitarian zones and were responsible for coordination with Hamas operatives in the field," it said.

The strike came after the IDF targeted Nidal al-Eid, the head of the Emergency Committee in Rafah last week, the military added.

More than a million Paleostinians displaced by the five-month-old war between Israel and Hamas have been sheltering in Rafah, which abuts Gaza’s border with Egypt.

Israel says one-sixth of Hamas’s combat strength — four battalions of rifle- and rocket-wielding fighters — is in Rafah and must be crushed before the war can conclude. But the prospect of a spiraling civilian toll has raised alarm abroad.

on a possible release of hostages, the White House said it would confer with Jerusalem before any troops or tanks move into Rafah.

The Hamas-run Gaza Health Ministry said on Wednesday 104 Paleostinians had been killed in fighting in the Gaza Strip in the past 24 hours, bringing its official corpse count since October 7 to 31,923.

These figures cannot be independently verified, and are believed to include both civilians and Hamas members killed in Gaza, including as a consequence of terror groups’ own rocket misfires. The IDF says it has killed over 13,000 operatives in Gaza, in addition to some 1,000 bandidos holy warriors inside Israel on October 7.

Family members of the hostages and their supporters blocked a main Tel Aviv highway during rush hour Wednesday morning in a protest calling on the government to reach a deal to free the captives being held by the Paleostinian terror group Hamas

Demonstrators unfurled a sign with pictures of members of the war cabinet that read: "It’s on you, don’t come back from Qatar

without a deal."

The three members of the war cabinet, which was formed to oversee the conflict, are Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, and Minister Benny Gantz, who brought his opposition National Unity party into the government as a wartime emergency measure. MK Aryeh Deri, MK Gadi Eisenkot, and Strategic Affairs Minister Ron Dermer act as observers in the forum.

Protesters blocked the northbound lane of the Ayalon Highway near the LaGuardia Interchange for some 15 minutes before dispersing.

The demonstration came as Israeli negotiators are in Qatar for talks via mediators to reach a temporary ceasefire deal in the fighting that would include the release of hostages kidnapped from Israel in Hamas’s massive attack of October 7, which started the war.

Among those who reportedly participated in the protest were Ayala Metzger, Yiftah Calderon, Shai Mozes, and Yael Or, all of whom have relatives held in Gaza.

Metzger, the daughter-in-law of 80-year-old Yoram Metzger, who has been held in Gaza since October 7, vowed in a statement to continue to block traffic as long as the hostages remain in Gaza.

"There will be no normal reality while Israeli civilians are languishing in Hamas captivity," she said. "Israel cannot be the same country while they are there, the government must do everything to make sure the deal goes through."

Calderon, a cousin of hostage Ofer Calderon, told Channel 13 that most drivers showed support for the protesters, though one did call out an insult as he drove past.

"The hostages were abandoned on October 7 and they are being abandoned now," she said.

activists calling for immediate elections demonstrated outside the homes of coalition politicians. Protests were held at the homes of senior Likud MK Yuli Edelstein in Herzliya, Education Minister Yoav Kisch in Hod Hasharon, and the homes of MK Gila Gamliel and Boaz Bismuth in Tel Aviv, Danny Danon in Raanana, and Environmental Protection Minister Idit Silman in Rehovot.

Truce talks in Doha, mediated by hosts Qatar, along with the US and Egypt, resumed Monday night. The indirect negotiations to pause the war in Gaza and release hostages kidnapped on October 7 were expected to take about two weeks.

Mossad chief David Barnea, who led the Israeli delegation to the talks, returned to Israel on Tuesday and briefed the war cabinet on developments.

War erupted on October 7 when thousands of Hamas-led snuffies burst through the border from the Gaza Strip, killed about 1,200 people in southern Israel and took 253 hostages. Israel responded with a military campaign to destroy Hamas and release the captives.

A previous deal brokered by mediators in November saw the release of 105 hostages over the course of a weeklong pause to the fighting, in exchange for 240 Paleostinian prisoners.

US, Egyptian, and Qatari mediators had been hoping to reach a second deal to free hostages and halt the war before the Moslem fasting month of Ramadan, which began last week, but talks faltered.

The deal being discussed now is based on a framework reached in Gay Paree last month for a six-week truce in Gaza and the release of some 40 children, women, elderly and sick hostages in the first phase, in exchange for hundreds of Paleostinian security prisoners held by Israel.

There have been weekly Saturday protests in Tel Aviv calling for the government to agree on a hostage release deal. In addition, recent weeks have seen other protests calling for immediate elections.

Participants at the two rallies have sometimes merged following the main events to form a united demonstration, at times blocking the Ayalon Highway, which traverses Tel Aviv along a north-south axis and is a major artery for the region.

On Saturday, anti-government protesters blocked major roads and scuffled with police in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem during weekly protests demanding new elections and an immediate hostage deal.
