President of the Central African Republic invites Russia to establish a military base in the country
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] Russia may establish a military base in the eastern part of the Central African Republic (CAR). This was announced by CAR President Faustin-Archange Touadera on April 19.
It’s not like they could make the situation worse…
"Why not? I believe that for this we can use the eastern region, which is very vast, which is located at a very great distance and where there are many negative forces,” he said in an interview with the RTVI YouTube channel.

According to the President of the Central African Republic, this could help ensure the security of the country’s borders and help cover the republic’s army.

#1  Okay, somebody help my memory her... When its the Central African Empire they are buddy buddy with the French and feed large diamonds to the French PM or Prez and when they are the CAR they bow to the likes of Stalin? Do I have it right?

#3  3dc. You are right. French Foreign Office and Defense used to fight over who was running the CAR. Gemstones were the only reason to be involved in one of Africa's great peste-holes. Obviously, Russia (likely the Wagner Group) has now paid-off the CAR leaders and is taking over. However, the country is not as benign as in the past as the Muslim and Christian communities are at war.

Arabia
Hamas leaders said looking at leaving Qatar amid growing pressure in hostage talks
"Curley-toed slippers don’t fail me now!"
[IsraelTimes] Hamas’s political chiefs are exploring moving their base of operations out of Qatar, The Wall Street Journal reports, as the Gulf state is increasingly being pressed to prod the terror group in indirect hostage-for-truce negotiations with Israel.

Citing Arab officials, the report says Hamas has recently contacted two regional countries about having its leaders live there, one of which is Oman.

"The talks have already stalled again with barely any signs or prospects for them to resume any time soon, and distrust is rising between Hamas and the negotiators," an Arab mediator is quoted as saying by the newspaper.

Another Arab mediator warns "the possibility of the talks being upended entirely is very real," with the report saying Hamas leaders have faced threats of expulsion if they don’t agree to a hostage deal.

#1  Oman and Yemen are the only two places left in the Middle East. Oman knows that it will cut all ties with the West and with the Saudis and Emirates if it accepts Hamas. Thus, only Yemen is left, and who in hell wants to live in Yemen?

#4  Turkey is undependable. When the Muslim Brotherhood was expelled from Egypt by al-Sisi, it tried to re-form in Turkey. However, when many of its leaders understood they were being used they moved to Europe. As Erdogan becomes more and more unpopular it would not be wise for Hamas (an arm of the Muslim Brotherhood) to relocate there. Plus, there is the well-known fact that Turkey's intelligence services have been infiltrated by the CIA.

Britain
Man Threatened With Arrest At pro-Paleo Rally For ‘Looking Openly Jewish’, another for ‘Hamas is Terrorist’ sign

After having manhandled him and the resulting internet uproar:
London cops apologize for implying Jewish man’s kippa ‘provoked’ anti-Israel crowd
[IsraelTimes] Filmed incident of officer stopping man in yarmulke from approaching pro-Palestinian march while ‘openly Jewish’ escalates into media blunder for police.

UK Police Arrest Iranian Man for ‘Hamas Is Terrorist’ Sign
[PJMedia] In the UK, you can now apparently be arrested for calling murderous holy warriors what they are. God help the West.
Freedom-loving Iranians are among Israel’s greatest supporters. Like Israel, they know what it's like to fight a terrorist regime (their own jihad-funding government) and receive no real sympathy or aid from Western democracies. When Niyak Ghorbani showed up to an anti-Israel, pro-Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It is currently ruled with an iron fist by Hamas with about the living conditions you'd expect. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response...
protest, police clustered about him and harassed, threatened, and finally arrested him. Breitbart reported that the Iranian man has been arrested at protests a number of times and that anti-Israel activists have tried to assault him.

In the video, he appears at one point to try to pull his sign out of an officer’s hands, at which point several grab hold of him, and one starts yelling in his face.

"Yesterday, with permission from the court granted to display the ’Hamas
...the braying voice of Islamic Resistance®,...
is a terrorist organization’ placard at a Paleostinian supporters' rally, I went to Parliament Square," he posted on April 18. "Initially, the police approached me and asked which group I supported, to which I clearly stated, ’I support the laws of UK.’" Apparently, that is no longer an acceptable position in the UK.

Ghorbani went on, "They then insisted on examining the content of the banner I was carrying. After a few minutes of conversation, I was convinced to open the banner and show it to the police." Unfortunately, the situation escalated quickly from there.

To my utter disbelief, the police stated that this content would disrupt public order and that I would be "arrested if I stepped out of the green space and mingled among the demonstrators in the street!" I told him he couldn't, but he said he could! (Of course, I considered the law when I told him he couldn't, but I didn't know the police, who enforce and protect the law, would resort to unlawful means for arrest!) Nevertheless, I stayed put as warned and didn't step off the grass. As soon as I opened the banner, three coppers surrounded me and tried to grab the banner. When I resisted their attempts to pull the banner, two coppers violent mostly peacefully handcuffed my hands, twisting and turning the handcuffs in a completely brutal manner. As I screamed in pain, one of the officers forcefully pressed the handcuffs upward in a "completely brutal" manner while twisting them!

Throughout the ordeal, even inside the police van, the violence continued to the extent that my hands were maimed.

The video does show Ghorbani beginning to shout loudly, claiming his hand is broken and adding, "shame on you," as a whole mob of police arrest him. Since he did not get violent mostly peaceful and only began yelling very loudly and energetically after he was arrested, it is not clear why so many officers were focusing on him. Ghorbani does appear to be in pain as the police hastily rush him away, but it is not clear how much his hand was injured.

In the van, I was in so much pain that I told them I felt my hand was broken and asked them to open it, but they paid no attention and only slightly loosened the handcuff on my left hand, but I was still in pain and begged them to loosen the handcuffs, but they ignored me. After about 20 minutes of detention, while still in the police van in the Kensington area, I was informed that I was free and should leave the van now! I requested that they return my banner and take me back to Parliament Square, but both of my requests were rejected! I got out of the police van and immediately returned to the square by taxi, carrying another banner with the same content, this time with the support of two coppers with blue hi-vis vests.

Ghorbani concluded his post, "Yes, I fought for the people of UK, for the people of Israel, for the honorable and brave people of Iran, and to show the truth, and ultimately for my dignity, to prove to you what situation you are in, and if you don't wake up, you will [have] Iran[’s] experience 1979 in UK." He is referring to the bloody rise of the dictatorial Islamic Theocratic Republic regime still controlling Iran. "The people of Iran
...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites. Formerly a fairly civilized nation ruled by a Shah, it became a victim of Islamic revolution in 1979. The nation is today noted for spontaneously taking over other countries' embassies, maintaining whorehouses run by clergymen, involvement in international drug trafficking, and financing sock puppet militias to extend the regime's influence. The word Iran is a cognate form of Aryan. The abbreviation IRGC is the same idea as Stürmabteilung (or SA). The term Supreme Guide is a the modern version form of either Duce or Führer or maybe both. They hate Jews Zionists Jews. Their economy is based on the production of oil and vitriol...
and Israel will soon destroy the Islamic Theocratic Republic and Hamas. What will the future hold for the people of UK?" Ghorbani added.

A Westminster Police statement on Twitter/X declared, "Officers arrested a man for a suspected public order offence in relation to a sign he was carrying. It was quickly established that the man should not have been arrested and the wording on the banner did not constitute an offence. He was de-arrested a short time later."
At the link: Tweets from Mr. Ghorbani about this story and from an astonishingly beautiful young Iranian girl about how the Iranian people do not support the Mullah’s war against Israel.

Russian Expert Dolgov: Israel's strike on Iran will not lead to a big war
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] Israel is not prepared for a major war with Iran without US support, and one of the main objectives in striking Iran on the night of April 19 was to signal the resolve of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu 's cabinet. However, neither side is ready for a big war in the region. Experts shared this assessment with a Regnum news agency correspondent, commenting on the information that Israel carried out drone strikes on Iranian territory.

Leading researcher at the Center for Arab and Islamic Studies at the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Boris Dolgov, noted that Israel’s strike on Iran was clearly not as powerful as some observers feared. And one of the key goals was another attempt to involve the United States in a confrontation with Iran.

Columbia anti-Israel protest arrests include Letitia James intern, UPS exec's daughter who killed elderly couple in crash as a teen
Pampered entitled f*cks. Consequences
[NY Post] It takes privilege to protest at Columbia.

The 114 anti-Israel protesters who were busted at Columbia on Thursday include members of the upper crust: an intern for New York State Attorney General Letitia James — and the daughter of a prominent UPS executive who killed an elderly couple with her truck as a teenager and got off with a slap on the wrist.

A Post deep-dive into the backgrounds of the protesters shows many list multimillion-dollar mansions as their home addresses, according to arrest records, and come from wealthy and powerful families.

Many are students at Barnard College, Columbia University’s liberal arts sister school.

Others are career activists with multiple arrests under their belts.

US vetoes Security Council resolution recognizing Palestinians as full UN member state
[IsraelTimes] 12 nations back statehood bid, including France, Japan, South Korea, which haven’t individually recognized Palestinian state; US official: They voted yes because they knew we’d use veto

The US prevented the Security Council from recognizing the Palestinians as a full UN member state, following through on its pledge to veto a resolution brought before the top international body on Thursday. Twelve Security Council members voted in favor of granting the Palestinians full UN member status, while just the UK and Switzerland abstained.

The US had first sought to convince the Palestinian Authority to shelve the measure before turning to other members to either oppose or abstain after Ramallah rebuffed Washington’s request, a US official told The Times of Israel. But the final tally showed that the Biden administration largely failed in its effort, with US Deputy Ambassador Robert Wood being the lone envoy to raise his hand in opposition to the resolution — a symbolic demonstration of Washington’s international isolation on the matter.

France, Japan, South Korea and Slovenia all voted in favor of the resolution submitted by Algeria, even though none of them had individually recognized a Palestinian state. The US official speculated that those countries voted the way they did even though they don’t practically support the measure because they knew there wouldn’t be any consequences for doing so, given Washington’s pledged veto.

Sierra Leone, Russia, Mozambique, Malta, Guyana, Ecuador, China and Algeria also voted in favor of the resolution but have each already recognized a Palestinian state. At least nine countries of the 15-member body needed to support the measure in order to force a US veto.

The US has long opposed Palestinian efforts to unilaterally secure statehood status at the UN, arguing that the goal should be achieved through direct negotiations with Israel. More recently, US officials have said such efforts also harm the Biden administration’s pursuit of a two-state solution through a broader regional initiative that it’s actively working to advance.

The US plan envisions starting with a hostage-for-truce deal between Israel and Hamas followed by a permanent end to the war. Israel’s Arab allies would then assist in the rebuilding of Gaza with assistance from a reformed PA, which would return to governing the enclave alongside the West Bank in the creation of a pathway to an eventual two-state solution with Israel that would enjoy normalized relations with Saudi Arabia, thereby bolstering a regional front against Iran. In addition to a still-elusive hostage deal, the US plan also hinges on Israeli willingness to accept an eventual two-state solution — a non-starter for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and most of his coalition.

In explaining the US opposition to the resolution earlier Thursday, US State Department deputy spokesperson Vedant Patel said there was not unanimity among Security Council members that the Palestinians had met the criteria necessary to be defined as a state. Moreover, he said that the PA needs to undergo significant reforms before it’s recognized as a state. Ramallah has long been marred by allegations of corruption and mismanagement. Patel also pointed to congressional legislation that would force the Biden administration to cut funding to the UN if it unilaterally approved the Palestinian request for full-member status — something Washington does not want to have to do.

After gaining non-member observer status in 2012, the Palestinians have sought, to no avail, to become the 194th member of the UN. Thursday’s vote was not the first time that the Palestinians’ application was denied by the Security Council, after failing to reach the nine-vote threshold in 2014. The results of that vote were eight to two with five abstentions, with France then also among the countries that backed the resolution.

Israel’s Ambassador to the UN Gilad Erdan thanked the Biden administration "for standing up for truth and morality in the face of hypocrisy and politics."

"I explained how the PA does not meet even the basic criteria, that they have no authority over their territory, and that the PA is a terror-supporting entity," he said in remarks following the vote. "Yet regardless of the Palestinians’ failure to meet the necessary criteria for UN membership, most of you, sadly, decided to reward Palestinian terror with a Palestinian state."

Erdan also lamented his repeated unsuccessful efforts to coax the Security Council to condemn Hamas for its October 7 terror onslaught. "But nevertheless, you refuse to even condemn, you refuse to listen, you refuse to act, you even refuse to check the facts."

"So today, I won’t try to fix what’s already broken. Speaking to this council is like speaking to a brick wall."

Foreign Minister Israel Katz also thanked the US, saying approval of the statehood resolution would have been a "reward for terrorism" just six months after Hamas’s October 7 atrocities. Like Erdan, he blasted the Security Council for failing to denounce Hamas for the devastating attack.

"There will be no rewards for terrorism. Israel will continue to fight until the fall of Hamas and the release of all 133 Israeli hostages," Katz wrote on X.

PA President Mahmoud Abbas blasted the US veto, calling it an "aggression" that pushes the Middle East towards an "abyss."

Hamas condemned the US stance in a statement and called on the international community to "support the struggle of our Palestinian people and their legitimate right to determine their destiny."

After his friend was killed on Oct. 7, a 25-year-old raised millions for the war effort
God helps those who help themselves.
[IsraelTimes] Gidon Hazony started Soldiers Save Lives the day after David Newman was murdered in the Supernova massacre. It continues to help soldiers and civilians in the tragedy’s wake

Gidon Hazony woke up in his Jerusalem apartment on the morning of October 7 to the sound of a missile siren, but it wasn’t until a second siren went off soon afterward and videos from the country’s south started flooding in on social media that he realized something was seriously amiss. A short time later, Hazony and some of his friends got a message from their childhood friend David Newman reading, "Pray for me," and then another reading, "Something terrible has happened." Newman was among some 360 people murdered that day at the Supernova music festival, part of the largest massacre in Israeli history that saw thousands of Hamas

Strip.

While the country was initially shocked by the October 7 onslaught, this soon gave way to a massive wave of civil volunteer work as organizations and individuals rallied together behind Israel’s military, which had set out to rescue the hostages and remove the threat of the Hamas terror organization from the country’s southern border.

One such organization was Soldiers Save Lives, which was founded by the 25-year-old Hazony immediately following October 7 to help supply the military during the war’s logistically challenging early days. The group, whose role has since evolved, was formed as a way to honor Newman’s memory.

Hazony said he met Newman when they were 14 and started playing soccer together.

"He was just such a warm and loving party boy," Hazony said. "He just loved spreading that energy, he loved having parties, he loved inviting his friends to parties. He was very welcoming to everyone, and he was very sympathetic and empathetic and cared about everyone around him."

Hazony added that Newman was the person friends went to when they were going through difficult times.

"He provided a comfort zone for everyone because he wasn’t judgy, he wasn’t super competitive. He was always very loving," Hazony said.

ATTEMPTED RESCUE
Hazony, who is close to finishing his bachelor’s degree in mathematics at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, volunteers for the Magen David Adom (MDA)

emergency ambulance service and was a medic in the army. It was this experience that motivated him to go looking for Newman on October 7 when he realized his friend was in trouble.

Hazony’s roommate at the time was Newman’s cousin, who is also a medic. When they realized that Newman needed help, the two got into a car and drove south, stopping only to pick up a gun and bulletproof vests from a friend.

"We didn’t really understand that there was a war breaking out," Hazony told The Times of Israel. "We thought it was just a terrorist attack at a party."

When the two got close to the southern city of Sderot, they faced a roadblock, but the police let them through when they explained that they were medics trying to help a friend.

"Almost immediately we saw people lying by a car who looked like they needed help," Hazony said. "We got out to help, but they were dead and had been for hours. This was shocking for me as a 25-year-old guy who was a medic in the army and a medic in MDA, but never saw anything serious."

Eventually, Hazony, along with other medics in the area, opened a field hospital near Sderot and spent the day treating maimed people who had come from the Supernova festival. They never made it to the party grounds and could not help Newman, who they were later told had been killed before 7 a.m.

"Around midnight on Saturday, I hitchhiked home and my friends and family were waiting for me," Hazony said. "And then I realized that I had done something crazy, and on top of that my best friend had been killed, and on top of that we were at war, and I hadn’t realized all that was going on while I treated people on the border."

SPRINGING INTO ACTION
That night, Hazony and his friends decided that they had to do something to help the war effort.

"It started on Sunday morning with basic missions like buying sleeping bags and hydration packs and delivering them to soldiers who were asking for them, and then delivering a drone to my brother who was on the way to battle and realizing that he didn’t have a bulletproof vest and I had to give him the one I was wearing," Hazony said.

From there, the group’s plan escalated. By getting in touch with contacts the group had in New York and Israel, they arranged for a plane to take off from JFK Airport by Monday afternoon carrying nine tons of tactical and humanitarian aid to Israel that had been donated by Jewish communities in New York.

"We had no idea what we were doing," Hazony said. "We got in trouble with customs and the Defense Ministry, meanwhile organizing new flights while having no idea what we were doing."

Within a week, the organization had arranged for three more flights carrying aid and had raised almost half a million dollars.

The organization now has an office in Tel Aviv and a warehouse in Petah Tikva and has brought in $25 million of aid for the military and civilians and raised over $3 million. Aside from getting general aid, the group has also managed to fill specific requests for equipment by the Home Front Command’s search and rescue unit and the Air Force, and bought three armored ambulances for Israel’s police.

EVOLVING MISSION
As the months passed, the organization realized that needs were changing. While for the first couple of months, it had focused on helping supply the needs of the military and civil emergency response teams, the group has now found that its help is needed more by civilians. While it continues to help the military where needed, the primary focus has shifted elsewhere.

"We had an event recently for 200 displaced families where we collected a whole bunch of clothes in all different sizes that they could go through while the kids were playing," Hazony said.

"We’ve also been doing a lot of social media," he added. "We’ve been making a lot of ’let’s do something’ kinds of videos encouraging people to stand up to tragedy and antisemitism."

Through its work in the past few months, Soldiers Save Lives has gained recognition among Jewish communities in the United States, which Hazony said the organization uses to further its social influence, including by arranging to speak with Birthright groups visiting Israel.

"We realized that we had a responsibility [to use our influence] and it just became one of our programs," he said. "[We’re] not necessarily... telling the world that Jews are good. That’s not what we’re doing. It’s more about inspiring Jews to take action than it is about inspiring non-Jews about Jews."

While the organization was born from the needs of the war, Hazony said it was important to him that its work continues when the fighting ends.

"We’re becoming about social influence and about doing something and fighting antisemitism on some level," he said.

When the war ends, Hazony said, he hopes the organization will continue its aid by providing assistance to amputees and people suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder, as well as continuing to provide aid in Israel wherever they are needed.

"There’s also our whole [social influence] educational program going on that I hope will go on forever because I think that’s very important," he said. "I’m not exactly sure where we’re going to go, but as import winds down, social influence will go up."

In the meantime, one event Soldiers Save Lives is organizing is an event for survivors of the Supernova music festival who have created art expressing their feelings about their ordeal. The survivors will take their art to New York, where they will speak about their experience and sell their work.

As for Hazony’s future, he said his October 7 experience has slightly dampened his "intense medic energy."

"As a medic, it’s always been my instinct to run and help anyone who needs it, and I’ve realized lately that if I see someone who needs help and there’s already a medic there, I’m like, ’Alright, they’re good. I don’t need to bother them,'" he said.

Once he has finished his degree, Hazony hopes to continue volunteering for MDA after completing an ambulance driver course. Ultimately, however, he hopes to become a teacher. But whatever he does, he intends to continue his work with Soldiers Save Lives.

"We have a responsibility to keep working," he said.

US will not support Israel in Rafah operation, reiterates Blinken
[GEO.TV] The US Secretary of State Antony Blinken
...71st United States secretary of state and a leading light of the corrupt and inept Biden administration. He previously served as deputy national security advisor from 2013 to 2015 and deputy secretary of state from 2015 to 2017 under the corrupt and inept Obama administration. He advocated for the 2003 invasion of Iraq while serving as the Democratic staff director of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee from 2002 to 2008. He was a foreign policy advisor for the Biden 2008 presidential campaign. During his tenure in the Obama administration, Blinken helped craft B.O.'s policy on Afghanistan, Pakistan, and the nuclear program of Iran. We all saw how well each of those worked. After leaving government service, Blinken moved into the private sector, co-founding WestExec Advisors, a lobbying firm...
has reiterated that Washington would not support Israel in Rafah operation.

He said the US believes that Israel can achieve its military objectives in Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response...
without an all-out invasion of Rafah, which the Washington would not support.

"We believe that a major military operation with a large presence of civilian population would have terrible consequences for that population," he said.
